Thought I'd play some vinyl this evening on my turntable which is hooked up to a pair of Fives. I was playing with the line in level and found I can actually have it set to the lowest - level 1, and still get decent sound volume through the Fives. Is it better to have it set as low as possible or doesn't it really make a difference to the sound quality? What do others have theirs set to?
Hello EveryoneI know I broached this subject early on during the initial release of the Era 300 series, so please forgive any redundancy. Let’s begin...IMO, the Five as a single speaker or in stereo pair is better than the Era 300 in the same configurations; but not by much. I was able to do an extensive A/B comparison in the same room with my Five’s and Era 300’s. The Era 300’s have since been moved to another room.My music preference is smooth jazz as I prefer instruments for making comparisons versus having vocals disrupt (color) the mid-range. The music source was SiriusXM Watercolors and Apple Music downloads.Room dimensions19 ft Long 13 ft Wide 8 ft High (slightly textured ceiling and hardwood floors)Speaker Distances and Separation3 ft from front wall (single and stereo pair) 10 ft Listening distance from speaker position (single and stereo pair) 6.5 ft from left and right wall spacing for single speaker 3 ft from left wall and right wall spacing for stereo pair (7 ft separatio
Using teo iphones to control my sonos play 3. Other one working well but the other on not. When trying to add spotify to service then get announcement that network is not working even my phone is connected to network and can control forex. Radio stations in sonos.
Hello everyone,I own a beam gen 2 + 1 Era 300 and i was a bit confused when i realized i could not use a single Era 300 to pair it with my beam gen 2 as a surround but needed two of them.Anyways, now i am wondering if i should better go for another era 300 to create a home cinema with my beam gen 2. As i do everything with it. Home cinema, music, video games.OrTo sell my era 300 and get a pair of Era 100 instead ?so beam gen 2 + a pair of Era 100.knowing that my living room is quite small ( 291 square feet ).Is it not too much to have a beam gen 2 and two era 300 for this kind of room size ?Last question: Do i still get the dolby atmos feature if i am pairing two era 100 with a beam gen 2 when watching movies, as the era 100 are not dolby atmos ? And when playing apple music spatial audio? Thank you very much ! 🙏 Max
I have 2 networks at home. One for the family and one for my business. I have a MyCloud EX2 Ultra Nas in my office and have some music that I would like to play in my home on the family network. I want to add the \music folder to my Sonos music library but I’m not sure on how to do it. I know that in order to stream from the nas when connected to the family wifi network, I need to do some kind of port forwarding on the office router but not sure what settings to use.Any help would be appreciated.
Am considering getting an Arc and surrounds. Wondering about whether the 300s provide a big advantage over the 100’s. Any thoughts?
my sonos system consists of 2 Roams and a Move all in different rooms of my house. I have a Deco mesh wifi system consisting of my main router and a mesh pod upstairs, they each provide full coverage for my entire home (home size is 3600 sq feet). My sonos system rarely is always functioning at the same time, one, two or all three speakers are usually not on the network. when i turn them all off, turn them all on, reset the router sonos rarely if ever connects all the speakers. the speakers magically just appear and start working again after an hour or two and them disconnect randomly so i have reset them all and redo the router. it’s very frustrating. i ordered a Sonos blast to see if that will help. If it doesn’t i’m giving up on Sonos and switching to something more reliable for my home stereo. Anyone have any suggestions before I bail on Sonos? I would like to know if the era 100 IS still really good with a Android système instead of a iOS système?
Have 4 Sonos Amps stacked in a closed cabinet. The sound volume on one of the amps keep going back down each time I tried to increase it. Checked the amps and all were too hot to touch or handle. The amp that I was trying to increase the volume had a red blinking light. Opened the doors of the cabinet and after a while the amps cooled down and the red light stopped blinking. Is this normal? If so why has Sonos not documented this to the consumer?
Hi there!I uploaded several songs with proper metadata on YouTube Music. Until a few days ago, when I searched for an album by typing the artist's name under 'Album' and tap the YouTube Music Library, I was able to find all albums by that artist. However, since today, I can only find two albums for that artist and some or none for other artists. But if I select "Songs" and tap YouTube Music Library, I can see all the songs by that artist. This issue is occurring on all devices (Android) with the Sonos app installed in my house, so it is not a problem with my device.I have not made any modifications during this time, and I have also tried removing and adding the YouTube Music account. This problem occurs regardless of whether I use the old or new search tool.SonosApp updated to the newest version. There are some problems with the Sonos app or with the API?How can I solve?Cheers
What is the best value speakers to pair with the Sonos Beam?

After about a year of having issues with my Arc and my TV, I was finally able to get them to play nicely together today by following some advice on here. I unplugged power from both, and all HDMI inputs from my TV. Plugged the power back in on both, hooked up only the Arc via HDMI to the eARC port and all was great again. However, as soon as I plug my Apple TV back in via HDMI, the TV and Arc no longer communicate. Sound is output, but volume control no longer works. The Apple TV and Sony Bravia integration seems to “break” as well as the TV will no longer turn on with the Apple TV. If I connect the Sonos I after the Apple TV, the TV loses the signal from the Apple TV immediately. Anyone else run into this issue and found a way to fix it?
I recenly purchased the Sonos 2 Amp and the Port. I have a house that is wired with speakers that are driven through a Insignia 200w receiver/amp combo. My goal was to connect my turntable to the amp and connect 2 speakers direclty to the amp to get the best sound quality. I also wanted to be able to stream the music playing on my turntable to my Insignia receiver/amp and have the option of playing the music throughout the house. The rep at my local stereo store recomended that I purchase the Amp, plug the turn table into the amp along with the 2 speakers and then purchase the Port and hook the Ports up to my receiver/amp using the AV ports on boat. I connected everything and have beautiful music playing throu the Amp however I am not able to get the music to stream from the Amp to the Port to the receiver/amp. I am beginning to wonder if this is even a possible scenario. I have both the Port and Amp showing on my Sonos App and I don’t see anything that woulf be in the way except the A
I Have sonos one (x2) and a beam gen 1. can I add another one and will it improve the sound???
Roughly a little more than a year ago I noticed that select tracks from compilations ignored my metadata and opted to treat them as a single track. To give more detail. I am an avid music collector and have many albums that are not genuinely a compilation. I have “fixed” metadata to treat the album as a single collection of tracks under a single “artist” name. In some cases these are scores/soundtracks that I wish to keep as the movie title as the “album artist” name and leaving each track as the artist. Also there are times were a guest artist is featured on the artist name where I remove the guest artist and add their name to the track title.I am one who cares more about keeping the album track integrity over being able to single out an track’s artist. When building playlists by artists, I like to keep a simple and not have to adjust parameters to comb through “artist feat, another artist”; especially when they are merely a guest vocalist on a single track. All was good, and I was able
Hi guys, I’m having a big question so I expect that someone can help me to resolve this, recently I acquired one Era 300 and I’ve played some content with my Apple TV, and is really cool, but now im planning to upgrade my setup with one bar to stream from my Xbox with games in Dolby Atmos , (beam or arc) but Im not sure if I need to acquire another 300 or upgrade later , my really question is if I can buy the bar and try to have a half setup with one 300 and the bar or it’s necessary to acquire the second 300, because atm I just have the cash to acquire one of them, thanks ppl
Hi, I have a studio downstairs that I rent out and would like to connect a Sonos One to the guest wifinetwork that I use for the studio. It is on the same router, but has a different name and password. So far I have managed to get out of the Sonos app via app reset. My phone is on the guestnetwork. I add the Sonos box (I do see all Sonos boxes in the house still thought) and all seems to go fine till the last step when I get a message that the system is not able to connect to the wifi.Anyone suggestions?
I think the title says it all, the Epson has a BT facility and I would like to connect to the Play 5 gen 1 via BT, can it be done?I have this set up in my garden room gym, I have ATV HDR10 for running Zwift (cycling app) through the projector and only use the Sonos for playing music via my Iphone to the Sonos play 5. With the play offs looming I would like to watch the match on the projector and hopefully have the audio via the Sonos play 5. I did a search on the projector for BT devices and nothing showed, is there a method for putting the sonos into pairing mode? The Sonos is second hand and a few years old but work perfectly and good enough for what I need. If all else fails I can watch the match via the projector and have the commentary via the radio😁
My Sonos system currently consists of: 1 Ray, 4 Play 1,s, & 1 Roam. I also use Sonos net via a Sonos Boost. All speakers are connected to the network wirelessly. I do not have WiFi 6. I would like to add 2 Era 100,s to use as rears for the Ray. Is this a simple plug-in and play addition to my current setup, as it is? Or do I have to disable the Boost? As I’ve read that the Era’s do not connect to a Boost. Also is my lack of WiFi 6 going to be an issue? I welcome any advice the community may be able to offer, many thanks.
Hello Sonos,I am looking for some advice.Living/living space 11m wide approx 7m deepI have a stereo/surround set that I want to replace. It is a 5.1set, so 2 front, 2 back, 1 middle and a subwoofer. Back+front+Middle speakers same size.I mostly use in stereo mode and can then have the back speakers also play along as so called 5 channel stereo. Surround very occasionally used. Can you advise me what to purchase. I am thinking about:2 x FIVE as front2 x Move as back (already have 1 and then handy to take along)1 x Sub1 x ARCFor stereo modeThen you use the 2xFive+SUB+2xMovesIn home theaterThen you use the SUB+ARC+2xMove as the back.Is this possible?Or is this "to much" Is it easy to switch from stereo set to surround set without going through all the settings each time?Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)
So I have Plex setup on a NAS with one Server with 3 Managed accounts, each account has their own playlists. Plex doesn’t allow sharing of playlists between accounts. When I add the Plex App to Sonos it lets me see all the playlists for the Plex Admin account but there’s no way to switch to any of the other Plex accounts. When using the Plex app on a mobile device you can switch between the different Managed Accounts but that has no impact when using the Plex Sonos app. Any ideas?
I thought I understood this, but clearly not. I was watching the Miami F1 GP on Apple TV, Sonos app reports PCM 2.0 (as expected from the F1TV app), on my Playbar+P3s system, and I was clearly getting engine sounds and other ambient noises from the rears (though not the commentary which was from the front). I’m not complaining, but how does this work for a PCM 2.0 signal?
I’ve recently realized that Sonos is not updating my iTunes playlist when I “Update Music Library”. New songs are added, but no changes to the Imported Playlists. I know there’s the 65K limit, and I know that there WAS a trick to remove iTunes playlists from the indexing if you added a “- “ to the beginning of the playlist name. Is this still true?
Hello. I am have ancient Sony home theater in a box where sub has finally died. Going to upgrade to a Sonos sound bar and sub. My room is about 16x16x13. The only place to put the sound bar would be in this middle shelf where the old speakers are. Is the top of the shelf going to be a problem with the up firing speakers of the arc? Will those speakers even hit a 13 ft high ceiling? Am I wasting money on an arc? I already have lots of other sonos speakers and play bar and love it in my bedroom. Also is the smaller sub good? It's half the piece of the big sub. Any thoughts would be helpful
