I regularly want to group my lounge speaker to the stream playing in the kitchen. I hold the play button on the speaker in the lounge to group it, but it will group with another speaker say in the bedroom or a TV. I continue to cycle through the playing speakers until it finally groups with the kitchen. I would like to be able to set a preference in settings to select a preferred speaker to group to so that if the kitchen is streaming it will always group with the kitchen speaker.
I really do despair. This morning I thought I would try out the SONOS to see what its current state is. BAD is my feedback. I switched on the stereo pair of PLAY:1’s that I have. All good, Music started playing. Music stopped, both lights had turned green. Eventually, after multiple attempts, I managed to allegedly update the speakers. BUT, the indicators are still green, the SONOS app tells me the speakers are up to date, the app thinks its playing but their is no sound coming from the speakers. Tried connecting the two speakers to my router via ethernet cable to see if that would fix the issue. It didnt. Sonos can see the stereo pair, but just wont play music through them. Deleted the stereo pair and reconnected. Did play sound through the added speaker. I cant seem to update the original post… I have spent 3 hours trying different combinations of things… even rebooted my router and used a different phone running a different version of android. I do not seem to be able to add 2 x PL
Does Sonos allow for setting of a cross-over frequency for the Sub? If so, how is it accessed? All I see is a volume control for the Sub

Hello, how are you? I'm having trouble setting up the Sonos Era 100. When I add it, an update appears that always gives error -30. I've already switched phones, reset the speaker, etc., and nothing works. It's very frustrating because the product isn't cheap. How can I solve this?
So I have had a Sonos system for about 6 or 7 years, maybe more. And all of that time I have been willing to forgive the almost complete unuseability of the products to the point where I did recommend them to a number of friends. However those days are over. My hat off to the creators of this ruse and the slogan ‘Effortless listening’. Never has there been a product made that requires more effort to manage than Sonos. Congratulations then on two fronts. Conning us into believing your products work (imagine getting into a car that you had to reset randomly and inexplicably 6 - 12 times per month) and coming up with a slogan that is actually precisely 180 degrees away from what the product actually is. 👏
New to SONOS. Been using a pair of Yamaha MusicCast WX-030 and have been very happy with it. Until I chanced on a pair of SONOS 5 Gen 1 on facebook. Had the SONOS for a week in pair stereo mode with S1 and WOWWWWWWWWWWWW. I can understand why people spend $$$$$$$$ although I do not see myself spending so much on new SONOS gear. Lucky the pair I bought cleans-up nicely and sounds perfect.
Play 1 won’t reset past orange light even using Ethernet cable connected to router?
I have four Sonos speakers at my vacation home: a Sonos playbar, a Sonos One, and two Sonos Moves. The Sonos playbar and the Sonos One were installed on my home network (LAN) before I added a new mesh wifi system--an Eero 6+. I have been attempting to install the Sonos Moves on my LAN after I added the Eero 6+, but without success. My ISP is Xfinity. My combination modem/router is the Xfinity Gateway. My PC running Windows 11 is hardwired directly to the Gateway. I have an 8-port Gigabit switch that is also hardwired to the Gateway. Finally, I have an Eero 6+ mesh wifi system. The main device is hardwired directly to the Gateway; three other eero devices are hardwired from Gigabit switch. The Sonos Moves worked well before I added the Eero mesh system. Now the Sonos app on my iphone will not recognize the Moves, and frequently will not recognize the Sonos One. According to Eero support, the reason I am unable to install the So
I just got the Era 100 and i’ve connected it to my spotify. I’ve been playing around with the EQ but there is no audible difference at all even at extreme settings e.g. minimum treble, maximum bass and vice versa. Am i doing something wrong? I usually prefer to lower the bass a little.

I believe my Sonos play 5 has WiFi capabilities but it can’t find the WiFi network but is still connecting to the Ethernet cable
Airplay used to work on my Play:1 but now it is not listed under airplay compatible devices. I would not have purchased the device if i had known they would remove connectivity. Are there any options for return or exchange? If not, I don't want to purchase a new Sonos devices if my preferred usage becomes removed in the future.
Why is the Beam such a crappy speaker? After having it connected to my SONY Bravia I tired of it losing the connection. Connect, disconnect, connect. Over and over again and again. I finally moved it to the bedroom to use as a stand alone speaker. Again with the same connection problem. Sometimes it plays. Other times it doesn't produce sound even though the app is showing the little dancing bars.Hell the Roam has outshined the Beam. It has been flawless for such a little speaker.I went through he whole wifi updating as recommended by Sonos and it working for a while but then it stopped playing when selected. It seems to like when it's selected via the iMac but not the iPad. Sometimes it likes the iPhone other times not.Totally frustrating to invest so much money on the Sonos products and experience this crap. Sonos get you act together. You have a real issue here.Anyone else suffering with this speaker? I am ready to invest in another company’s products, Hello Klipsch or Polk and hea
I have spent A LOT of money on this system and for some reason after adding the Sonos Five to my system I have constant drops. Before I am accused of using a weak WiFi system or having interference issues I should point out I have a 1GB/S WiFi system that consistently logs in at 250MBS on a speed test for WiFi and when I get my drops there is literally nothing else in the house that is on the system accept my Nest cameras. My problem is that I am always getting knocked off the WiFi system even thougn there are some speakers (my oldest) that stay connected. I have rebooted my VERY expensive router a dozen times, turned off all my speakers then reconnected. I can be listening to music on Spotify and simply skip a song on a playlist and when I do that all the speakers drop except my playbar in the back room, furthest from the router! I am hoping someone has a solution for this or I am going to scrap the entire system and move to some other solution, this system is way to glitchy and inco
As I understand it, Sonos equipment using wireless mode 0 (WM0) uses a proprietary Sonos mesh wireless network referred to as SonosNet. (When first introduced, Sonos touted this as preferable to using your home’s usual wifi because at the time, good home wifi was less common than it is now.)I understand that equipment using wireless mode 1 (WM1) uses your existing, home wifi . (I’ve seen it suggested that this is okay because home wifi is better these days, and preferable because no Sonos device *needs* to be network wired to your router. to gain Internet access for your Sonos system.)There may be reasons for an owner to want WM0 or WM1. So here’s my question. Is it possible to force a Sonos System into WM0 or WM1. Supplementary question. If it is, does it have to be done at initial setup, or can the change be made later? (I realise that in the face of the disgracefully bad Sonos apps that appeared this year, the idea that it might be possible to make a WM0 or WM1 choice is highl
There are two scenarios that keep occurring since adding additional speakers this week. When I have a group that is playing music and start music on a separate speaker via the app not part of that group, the group music stops Similarly, when I have a group that is playing music and start music on a separate speaker via Sonos Voice Control, the group music stopsIt would appear that it doesn’t seem to matter whether the music already playing is coming from a group or an individual speaker, in both cases it stops and I have to play about in the app to get it so that different music is playing from different zones. This doesn’t seem right or feel like good user experience. Can someone expand on this and whether there is an issue here?In my set up I have an Era 100 which is in our loft, an Era 300 which is in our dining room, a Beam gen2 and mini sub in the lounge and a Move 2. Music is playing from Spotify which I have added as a service. Thanks
The sound quality on my Stereo Sonos Play 5 and Sub is frustrating me after the app upgrade. Sometimes the music plays like a cheap car radio. Sometimes it plays like the Sonos, the app does not detect the Trueplay settings or any settings I saved. They appear randomly. The $1500 system sounds like a junk boombox. Highly unstable. Volume controls work on and off , delays in skipping songs…when will Sonox fix these issues ??? I have half a dozen products including Boost and I am left with a crappy experience. Sonos , get your act together. And one more annoyance , if I open any app with sound output eg Ring camera, YouTube etc ,it increases the volume for my current song playing on the Sonos to the extent it can make one deaf. I have to decrease the volume immediately and close all offending apps. This is crazy. Moderator edit: combined posts
I updated my Sonos app today, for some reason the status lights on my Era 100 speakers switched on. I went into the app looking for the hardware section to turn them off, it usually lets you turn off the lights, or disable the Touch Bar on the areas on or off. This section is no longer showing in the new app, and for some reason the lights on the Eras are switched on, I also used to switch the touch volume on the Eras control off when the grand kids are here, and that is missing as well.Any idea were Sonos have put this in the new app, or is it another cock up.. .appreciate any advice or help on this
I have an old Play:1 that I have trouble connecting to my WiFi router. If the router connects at 5.0 GHz, the music cuts in and out. The router also has 2.5 GHz but it connects automatically without allowing a choice. If I reboot the router a few times it will eventually choose 2.5 and then the speaker works fine. I have talked to Sonos customer service 3 times and they swear that the speaker works fine on 5.0. My experience says the opposite. Does anyone have experience with this and is there a fix?
