Hi All - I know this question has been asked before, but my searches aren’t leading me in the right direction. Called customer support today and think I was mislead. I have two extra play 1 speakers I’d like to set up at our second home (vacation rental when we aren’t there). I’d like guests to be able to use it also. I was told I could create another account under my existing Sonos (I have the S2 app). When I tried to open my app, I couldn’t add any network since I was not on my home wifi. How exactly do I set this up? Am I wrong to think guests will be able to find my Sonos speakers if they log in their account, but under the same WiFi? how do I set these two play 1 speakers up?
I have just purchased a Sony Bravia 2022 model. Upgraded from an LG. I was able to hook up to my Sonos Play:5 on the LG. Now, I cannot for the life of me work out how to get it to work with the new television. Help!!!
I recently updated to apple iOS 16, and ever since then my Spotify app will ONLY connect to my Sonos speaker if I use AirPlay. Before it allowed me to connect by selecting device. This worked way better for me as I could play music in my daughter’s room while being able to hear audio on my phone (on IG, or YouTube) without interrupting her music. But now since I’m forced to use airplay I can only play music or my YouTube audio will push to her speaker. anyone else seeing this issue? Any fixes? We tried updating the Sonos software but it keeps saying “error code - 800”
IMPORTANT: my question is about the GEN 2 not GEN 1. Primary part is ok, 315 VDC is president but secondary I have only 2.4 volt instead of 24 volt and measuring the feedback opto coupler it tries to switch on and falls off. Any suggestions or schematics are helpful.
I’m finding that the sound is better when the Sub is switched off allowing the Fives (2) their full range, the bass just sounds so much better.Has anyone else experienced this?
Hi @ all, I got a play 3 with a solid white light. Can´t reset, tried a lot of guides, i just can´t get it to work. powersupply is good, a replacement keypad shows the same white light…When connected to LAN, the S1 app finds something, but it won´t go through the final steps.i repaired a lot of sonos speakers, mostly powersupply issues and some amp-things in 5 gen1, so challenge accepted :-) There is a company in europe, that repairs sonos speakers. In their “successfull-repair-list” they mention the solid white light. so it can´t be THAT difficult. 🤔 Has anyone found that failure on the logic board? Many thanks in advance! PS: i know warranty is gone when the speaker is opened Greetz from Germany, Flo
I have been using Sonos for many years. I have a Play 1 in my office and every time I adjust the volume to level 1, 2, 3 or 4 it either auto adjusts up to level 5 or down to and mutes. Level 5 is too loud for back ground music at work. Why does it not stay at level 2? I am playing spotify, if that matters.
I had a Five go down and Sonos replaced it with a refurbished unit, which I just received. The replacement works fine functionally (produces audio normally, setup works fine, etc.) Cosmetically however the speaker grill cover does not seem to be fully adhered to the rest of the unit in a few places… i.e. it doesn’t sit completely flush by .5cm and I can push it down a wee bit to make it flush. The grill cover on my other Fives are completely flush and firmly attached to the unit without moving. I am assuming this is the case with my replacement because they had to remove the grill cover to inspect the speakers or something.Functionally it’s not an issue at all but it is something on the back of my mind that bothers me. I’m debating sending it back however (1) it would be annoying to go through all that and (2) it’s possible that I’d get a unit that’s in worse shape since they only send you refurbs for RMA replacement.Question: I’m just curious what other people would do here in this ca
I have 2 Play 5s (first generation) I can use each one separately, or grouped with my Playbar on the S1 app, but when I try to create a stereo pair i get past pressing the volume up button on the left speaker and then geta message saying “There was a problem creating the stereo pair. Please try again”Any ideas what the issue could be? I can’t figure it out as both units work independently and also when in a group, but if i try to group the two 5s together, it doesn’t work.
HiA friend of mine contacted support the other day and asked them if they could see anything wrong with the HW, since she got dropouts. The support personal said that everything looked fine, but the readonly memory was almost full and this COULD cause music drops out and other wierd things. The person also said that even if you do a factory reset it will not free this memory, since it’s Readonly. I get that, but if it’s read only memory, then how did it get full?Have anyone else heard about this, or is it just a distraction from the support personal? I mean, if this is true, then ALL Play 5 Gen is running out of memory, since I am guessing the only thing that can write there is a Firmware upgrade. Thoughts? RegardsLasse

Hello,I currently have a Symfonisk Bookshelf Gen 1 along with 4 Gen 1 Connects, setup with the S1 controller. I recently purchased another Symfonisk Bookshelf which is the Gen 2. I tried to add it to my S1 controller but it states it needs downgrading.I tried to downgrade it as per the instructions using the S2 app but the S2 downgrade tool cannot seem to find the speaker even after factory resetting it multiple times. The S1 app can still find it and prompt me to downgrade. Is there anything that I’m doing wrong or is the Symfonisk Gen 2 not compatible with the S1 controller anymore?
I have a Gen 1 play 5 that I pretty much only play from Spotify and have been having an issue with it intermittently going quiet. About every 5-10 minutes, it will go silent for like 5 seconds. The music continuous playing on other speakers in the group. Its only this one speaker that has the issue. This has been happening for quiet a while and happens on totally new wifi networks as well so I dont think its an issue with the network. Has anyone ever experienced this?
Hello All,I have a SONOS Play 5 generation 1. My Network Configuration is as follows: ATT Uverse for Internet. ATT Gateway is located in My Office and is using WiFi Channel 1 for 2.4Ghz and Channel 153 for 5Ghz I have a Netgear Nighthawk Router in my Living Room which is set up in Access Point mode so it is wired to the ATT Gateway. The Netgear uses the same channels for 2.4 and 5Ghz as the ATT Gateway which is 1 and 153, respectively. Sonos uses Channel 11Now for the issue. I use Spotify to listen to music and podcasts with my Play 5. I can play music without any issues. When I play a Podcast (someone speaking), the Podcast plays for about 10 minutes and then the Play 5 goes silent. When I look at Spotify, it thinks the Podcast is still playing. I can hit pause and then play and the Podcast will play again. Thanks, Bill

I am still having play back issues on my play 5 and ikea symfonisk speakers running on S1 music just stops and may start seconds later or not at all, getting error 1001 ? unable to sort since the introduction of S2 !
hi everyonei had to move in another city as a teacher, i took my play 5 with me, i dont think i’ll rehister to an internet provider. Do you think it is possible to use my device on the shared internet connection on my phone? I tested it many times but seems like it is impossible :(
Hello,id like to purchase and add more Sonos Ones too my setup. I’m stuck on S1 because I have multiple connect amps.Sonos’ official compatibility list says the currently sold One gen 2 works on both S1 and S2. However the shop FAQ for the One gen 2 answers “will it work with S1?” by ambiguously stating “it requires the latest version of the app”This makes it sound like you need S2. Anyone know the truth? I assume it will work but it’s just more unscrupulous pressure to throw out our old systems and buy all new devices
Hello, before posting I tried following the existing guides but without achieving the result I wished. After changing my internet provider I 2 Sonos one SL weren't found on the app(S2). Until so far I have tried factory reset, app reset and tried to set up a new system through Ethernet cable. What I have "accomplished" so far is only one speaker playing and only when it's connected with an Ethernet cable, although WiFi option is enabled. Both of them never worked together. Also when I try without the Ethernet cable both of them have the whole spectrum of led lights blinking. Has someone an idea?? because I ready to give up😩Thank you all in advance
Hi folks, I recently got a pair of fives and I’m having questions on what is the optimal placement for them. The red square represents the size of the image projected. I thought about mounting them on the wall (Numbers 1) but the right side (window side) difficults this situation since the speaker will appear in the image. Left side is no problem since I can get the speaker outside the image. The other options (Number 2 and 3) would be using standing mounts. Placement would be dependent on optimal distance to sitting position (10ft or 5ft). What would you suggest? I’ve read that the best placement is at ear level. If this is true, number 1 is discarded. I’m open to other options but as you can see my space is very limited. Thank you!
I have a Gen 2 sub that’s connected up to a pair of Play:1 Speakers and have noticed that it is not making any sound. The speakers are playing sound and I can see the sub connected up in the app to the speaker but nothing is coming out of the sub speaker! I have removed the sub and reset it and added it back in again but still no sound at all! Any ideas or tips?
Hi, I recently moved into a furnished apartment that has a dualband WiFi, but the SSID for the 2.4 and 5 GHz is the same (and I cannot change it). Now, I am unable to set up my Sonos Play:1, it just stays in the loop of trying to find the Sonos when I try to set it up. My phone can switch between 2.4 and 5 but even when it’s on 2.4 it cannot set up the Sonos. I now have it wired but this means I have to put the Sonos speaker in the hallway which clearly is not ideal. Even when wired I cannot update the Sonos speaker with the WiFi information.I have searched the forum and tried some of the suggestions but haven’t been able to find a solution.Best,Jeroen
Hi, I’m having trouble getting audio to play in stereo on my two Play 1 speakers when my CD player is connected via Sonos connect. Any ideas?

I am having another Sonos love/hate relationship that we are all so familiar with. I love these products but why do they have to fail so hard with setup? So, I got a new router…..(I know that’s how it always starts)….I have tried literally everything and I am several hours in. I disabled all the old networks. I disabled wifi-assist and cellular data on my phone. I closed the Sonos App on my computer so that it wouldn’t interfere and I was only operating on the IOS app on the phone. I unplugged my other Sonos devices. I plugged the One SL into the router with a hardwired ethernet cable. I made sure the phone was on the right WiFi network. I did reset the Sonos S2 app in App Preferences. I did a factory reset on the One SL. I tried to install the One SL as a new system. I did all of these things multiple times. EVERY SINGLE TIME IT IS THE SAME PROBLEM--it finds the One SL and says I added it to the system successfully, but that the system might not find it. It tells me that if the system
