Strange App Behavior

Hi Sonos world 

I have a Sonos one and a Sonos Beam

i don’t use the app very often, maybe to tweak the sound but usually I use Alexa on the “one” to access music.

everything has been fine for years, until..

several weeks ago I used the app to change a setting on the Beam and noticed it wasn’t showing in the app. I closed the app, re opened it and boom!

there it is, except 

now the “one” isn’t showing in the app 

So I turned off both products and turned them back on and still only one shows on the app at anyone time. The app is upto date and trying to add a new product doesn’t work. 
ti get the ‘one” to appear I have to turn off the beam and reboot the app

anyone had this or can offer a solution ?

You somehow got them on spearate systems.  Factory reset one of the units.  then reset the Sonos app, and choose to connect to an existing system.  Then add the reset device

I was hoping not to do that but it looks like it’s the only option
