Hi - Can you share a Gen 2 SONOS 5 speaker with Gen 2 Controller (for general use) and Gen 1 controller connected *via the jack plug* for occasional use ? I want to use the Gen 1 controller and Gen 1 CONNECT hard wired and fitted to my turn table AND when that’s not in use use the Gen 2 controller on the SAME 5 Gen 2 speaker - without having to unplug the jack plug ? Thanks in advance.
I would like to use an NAD C700 which has a digital coaxial input and phono input capability to receive my analog vinyl records and to process my CDs with the C700 DAC on board. From there, I would like to add Sonos speakers to this listening room, and connect the C700 directly to either the Sonos 5 or the new Sonos One for lower bookshelves against a wall that can’t use rear ported speakers so well. The aim, is that when I want to listen to CDs, Vinyl or stream higher-end BluOS, can I transfer the sound directly to either of the two Sonos speakers. I will buy the speakers as a stereo pair for the room. This would enable streaming what is received to my Sonos Arc in my living room. When I want to just listen to Sonos wirelessly without the NAD C700, I can just use the Sonos app to stream Apple Music, Amazon or Sirius XM which works fine. Can this be connected this way.
Hii have a Lg c2 television with a arc and 2 ones for surround. In the sound setting on the tv if I toggle on earc I can receive atmos but on bbc etc I get dolby multichannel PCM 5.1 shown on Sonos app, if I toggle off earc I can no longer get atmos, but on bbc etc I get dolby digital plus 5.1 or 2.0 ?do I need to keep toggling this on and off depending on content?thanks in anticipation
My system includes Sonos speakers connected by ethernet as well as wifi. All too often, some of the wifi speakers furthest from my Orbi router and satellites, drop in and out. I’m considering adding a wifi extender, or worse case, another satellite, to improve stability. Your thoughts on what is best will be appreciated. My network is an Orbi RBR50 router with three Orbi RBS50 satellites, all ethernet connected to the router. The house is two stories, 5,100 sq feet. Unfortunately, the internet cable comes into an upstairs closet in the southeast corner of the house, about as far as possible from where I want coverage. Satellite 1 is on the second floor about in the middle of the west wall of the house (in other words, the opposite end of the house from the router.) Satellite 2 is on the first floor in the northwest corner of the house. Ethernet connected to it is a Denon receiver with a Sonos Port running non Sonos in-wall home theater speakers. Satellite 3 is also downstairs in the mid
So, I recently bought an Arc, Sub and two Sonos Ones. If I buy the new replacement speakers, what am I supposed to do with the expensive Ones I just bought?
When I go into the Sonos app my device shows as “Not Registered” and therefore I cannot change anything. If I try to register it and follow the process it gets to “Linking your Beam to your account” and then tells me there is a problem linking and would I like to try again; this is ongoing…If I log into my account via a web browser, I can see the Beam device in my account.HELP!
Hi. Each time I add a new sonos speaker/soundbar to my system, my LG TV sees a new sonos server with each one, which show up on screen. However, none of these will allow me to play any music stored on my synology NAS. The music appears under music shares and all tracks are there but I get “this file not recognised”. When I access music via my NAS drive server, all music will play. Several questions: Why all these servers for each speaker? Why can’t I access music through them? Can I get rid of them?Regards, Mike
I have struggled with the Sonos One because it does not support high definition flac files (24 bit encoding, for example). I can’t play 100’s of tracks in my library due to errors like this: “unsupported sample rate 24b9600”in the Sonos app. (on Android) Is this resolved in the Era100? I would like to consider a full apartment setup of the Era… but need to know that my music library will work! (HDTracks and other audiophile vendors often provide 24 bit flac files)
Hi - I have intermittent connectivity problems with my Sonos setup. My friends are starting to tell me Sonos is trash 😢 I grabbed a diagnosis yesterday when it happened. Can someone please look it and see if there is any info in there to assist? I have it on SonosNet and use an Orbi Mesh wireless setup. 2133137668 thank you
I’ve just swapped my virgin hub3 for a hub5 and all was going welll until it came to setting Sonos up.The new router had a different name but I didn’t think that would cause any problems but due to the fact that whilst unplugging my speakers I must have dislodged the network cable out of the back of the one wired speaker on my system it was a nightmare.I had to go through loads of screens settings where it connected each of my devices in turn to the new router via wifi. I wasn’t sure why it was doing this as I didn’t realise the network cable had come out until I’d spent ages reconnecting all speakers to the router’s wifi. Then afterwards I noticed the speaker network cable had come out so I plugged that back in and now that main speaker is showing up in the router as being connected via ethernet. But even though I’ve powered the other speakers off and back on again, they are still showing as being connected directly to the router via wifi - I would have expected them to join the Sonos
Hope someone can help. I have an old Play one in my bedroom I use for sleep music at night. Worked fine for years. I have just installed a new router and hence new Wifi network in the house and of course now the Speaker is no longer recognised on the network. How do I get this back please as all the options for network settings I can see in the App seem to be greyed out? Thank you.
Thanks in advance for any help here. I’ve never had a problem setting up any Sonos products before but for some reason, when I try and set up 4 in my house (there are no others) it will only connect to one of them, and on all the others I get the message saying “Sonos has been added but may not appear in the systems tab”. I’ve reset the router 3 times and all the Sonos products multiple times too but the problem persists. Any ideas please? Thanks again!
Soooo.... I just placed my order for two Era 300's, and although I was aware of the lack of an Ethernet port on the speakers, I'm a little peeved that Sonos didn't include an adapter with the speakers - and that they are asking $40/ea for them. Yes, I should probably have expected this from Sonos, but it annoys me just the same. Now I have to shell out another $80+ for the ability to hardwire the speakers. We all pay a premium for Sonos hardware, and I'm not complaining about that - throw in the dang adapter guys, or let us buy it at cost.Grrr....
I have a iPhone 8 and my husband has an iPod. We both want to play music from our devices on the Sonos One can we do this?it seems that we have a subscription to a service (Spotify etc) which we don’t want..so my q is can we play from our device or not?( have to say I thought this would be easy and simple via Bluetooth but maybe not).many thanks
I have a Sonos system with speakers and a Roamer and would like to take the Roamer and a speaker to my caravan which is on a permanent site. Is this possible? I’m not very technical
Every time I add to my Sonos system other speakers disappear. It’s so time consuming and frustrating to have to reset several speakers just because I spent more money with Sonos. You all should be paying me since I have to spend time reconnecting everything just to add more! It’s NOT the network!
I have 6 devices set up. One bar, two Ones and three play:3Bar is hard wired in.Once a week or so, atleast one of the :3s and the Ones will disappear. I can find them in missing products. I solved for wireless interference. Wi-Fi on channel 7 and Sonos on 11. Worked for a few days.I’ve done system reboots on individual devices and all the system updates. What else can I try?
Ever since I got an upgraded router via BT a few weeks ago I have to delete the Sonos app and then reinstall it to find my 3 speakers. It’s driving me nuts. Does anyone please have a solution. Thank you
I know this has been covered before but it is still a problem, though it is hit and miss. I have a couple of very large playlists in Apple. Sometimes they will load and other times no luck. Have never had a problem with smaller (less than 500 songs) playlist. This really should not be a problem for Sonos.
How can one turn the media server my SONOS Beams apparently has? It’s turned off in SONOS settings. Thoughts? Thanks!
I can connect to the Wifi, both sonos 1 and 3, however, next time I want to play music, the app tells me, that the phone is not on the same Wifi.(When I just tried to look for the error message, the system is connected) In other words - sometimes there is a connection, sometimes there is not, and I have to reconnect using the reconnect to new Wifi procedure. But if I wait for a couple of days, the connection is just back.Whats the issue here….something with changing IPs?I have no issues connecting any other device to the Wifi
I bought a Play 5 with serious big expectations of audio premium quality. But what I have begun to notice that the songs played on Play 5 actually have a sort of audio distortion that causes ear fatigue. It feels better to turn off the music. In fact a low end JBL speaker produces a sweeter sound. The songs played on Sonos Play 5 are shrill, have echo in voices… sort of experience when you play a low bit rate music.NoteI have tried True Play tuning multiple times I play highest bit rate songs in Spotify / Amazon / Jio SaavnFeeling bad about having invested ₹40,000 in Sonos Play 5, when my ₹5,000 JBL sounds deeper and sweeterWhat could be wrong with my Play 5 set up / circuit / factory turning??
I am thinking about replacing my 2 One SL surround speakers with 2 Era 300 wall mounts. I have an Arc, Sub (gen3) and the 2 One SL surrounds currently. However the 2 One SLs are mounted 1 foot under the ceiling and angled down behind my seating to point at my seat, which may be too close for the Atmos of the Era 300 to work correctly. Any suggestions on how much space from the ceiling I should have? I am planning to use the wall mounts sold as accessories.
Dear All,How I wanted to use my home setup to play music from my laptop.I do love to use Virtual DJ to mix a little so it’s not a music from my library only form line out. How to play my mixes on SONOS? Please help. Bieverhousen
I have a wireless network with a Netgear rbr50 and 1 satellite. Also have a Sonos Boost connected to the RBR50 via Ethernet. There are 2 Play 1s in one room and 2 Symfonisks in another. The Sonos app shows all players connected to Boost (WM0).When I check connected devices in the Netgear app it shows the Symfonisks and Boost as wired connections, but the Play 1s show as connected wirelessly, albeit with no signal.I have tried rebooting the Play 1s but nothing changed.Does anyone have any thoughts and should I be concerned?
