I upgraded my iOS and macOS clients to S2, which then upgraded my Play 1, Play 3, Play 5 (Gen 2) and Beam. Now, I can no longer play music on more than one Sonos device. When I attempt to, I get the “cannot connect to device. Try again later.” Error message. This was clearly an S2 upgrade related problem. Help!
Hi, we have a Sonos Play 3 in my daughters bedroom which we use to help her sleep playing lullabies etc, however we have been told about Moshi Sleep app. it does not play via Sonos but can via airplay it seems. However none of my equipment is that recent to allow it. If I were to upgrade to a newer component or speaker would this then work through airplay does anyone know. Ideally throughout our Sonos system? thanks in advance. john
I know Sonos says the new Sonos five “offers the same listening experience as the play:5gen2” to my mind this is not the same as saying they sound the same. Have they improved the audio? I doubt they are exactly the same acoustically. The play 1 and Sonos one sound different despite being told they are the same. Doesn’t matter if they use the same drivers, even a change in weight to the product will alter the sound.
I’m an audio noob so I’m totally lost and confused. I just got a Sonos Arc. I have a TV with eARC. What’s the best settings? When on PS4 using Bitstream (Dolby), I get audio sync issues. My TV audio is set to “auto” not PCM or passthrough. Is this something that multichannel LPCM will fix eventually?
Hi Everyone!Somewhat of a Sonos Beginner but not a total newbie. I’ve had a Sonos Playbar for a while but it’s time to upgrade my setup to match my LG C9 77” OLED. So I’m looking to upgrade my existing setup in our Family Room but also wanted to add outside speakers and add a TV to our patio. Here’s what I’m thinking:Family Room - LG C9 w/ Apple TV 4K Replacing Playbar with Sonos Arc Adding Sonance In-Ceiling Speakers with new Sonos AMP to serve rear speakers Eventually will add Sonos Sub Outdoor Area - New TV with Apple TV 4K Pair of Klipsch or Polk Outdoor Speakers hardwired into a 2nd Sonos AMP (both AMPs placed in same location) From what I understand, I will need 2 stand-alone AMPs to create the multi-room/zone I want. My questions to my proposed setup and what I hope to be able to accomplish is the following:Be able to watch movies/TV in my family room with all inside speakers going (not Outdoor Zone) At times, have the ability to stream and play the same source/music
Wondering how concerned I need to be if I wanted to pair the Polk RC80i with the Sonos Amp? Max power on the Polk is (recommended amplifier power: 20-100 watts) Will this setup work given the amp puts out 125 watts? thanks!
I am planning to get HDFURY ARCANA and this will then feed the hdmi ARC input to Sonos ARC . But my TV has only 1.4hdmi ARC and 2.0 HDMI non ARC connection. If i give the video to 1.4 ARC then i wont get dolby vision and HDR 10 in my TV from Apple TV. I need to get dolby atmos and also like to get TV sound in Sonos arc while playing cable tv settop box which is connected to other hdmi 2.0. My question is can i connect HDMI arc from ARCANA to sonos arc and also digital optical adaptor from TV to Sonos arc? Can Sonos arc takes input in both HDMI arc and optical? When ever i play apple tv it gets hdmi arc input and when ever i play cable set up box it will get tv audio through optical adapter? Ideally it should work but if i use apple tv then at that time sonos arc get input from Arcana through HDMI arc and also get audio from optical adapter as TV is on and will this create any issues?
I live in a fairly small apartment. In my living room, there’s a fireplace on a diagonal wall, and my TV is mounted above this fireplace. My couch is positioned parallel to the walls, which is necessary to create a walkway, since my front door is just behind this. I’ve drawn a diagram, which is roughly to scale. Red squares are the speakers, as I have them placed currently.I just bought a Sonos Beam, and I also have two Symfonisk speakers which I’m using as my rear speakers.Due to the unusual room layout, I’m not sure about the ideal placement for the rear speakers. There’s a window behind the two chairs, so the left speaker’s location is limited by that on the left wall, although I suppose it could go on either side of the window.I suppose I could also put both speakers on the back wall.Any suggestions?
Hi everyone!I am in the process of building a home and plan on pre-wiring for speakers in the outside patio, living room, and kitchen. Since it’s more of an open concept floorplan, the kitchen and living room is essentially one big room. The builder offers pre-wiring for a 5.1 / 7.1 setup, but I didn’t want all my speakers to be in-ceiling so I am planning on using the Arc and two in ceiling speakers in the living room. I plan on putting 2 of the other speakers in the kitchen and the patio will have 2 in ceiling and 2 mounted speakers for TV & music. My goal is to be able to watch TV in the living room while someone else is watching something else in the patio, but have the ability to have synchronized audio in all the spaces whether it be TV or music. My question is: if I want a Sonos 5.1 setup in the living room and have the ability to play synchronized music throughout the home, do I need separate Amps for each space? Or can I use one Amp to power 4 speakers (2 in the living room,
I have a brand new Samsung smart TV that is equipped with Bluetooth. Prior to installing Arc and Sub on this TV, I was able to listen to the TV sound through the TV speakers and could connect my Airpod pros and listen without issue. After setting up the Arc and Sub (using the HDMI ARC port on the TV), the airpods can still connect to the TV but there is either no sound or very high volume that is too loud to listen to (and volume is not controllable (line level?)).Is this a known issue? Is it wireless interference between the Arc and Sub? Is there a way to stay connected to Sonos but also utilize the Bluetooth/Airpod connection (and silence Arc).
Hi, I have a Sonos Playbar, Samsung TV (UN60EH6000), and Verizon Fios One TV remote. I have connected the playbar to the Verizon remote and am able control the volume, but every time I press volume up or down an error message saying “not available” flashes on the TV screen. While this error message goes away after a couple of seconds, it is still annoying. Is there a setting to change or anything else i can do to prevent this error message from popping up? Thank you
Afternoon all, read few older posts on similar subject but I have a slightly different angle on the question I think.Have a gym (in garage) with a Sonos Connect Amp, A Panasonic TV RCA linked to the Sonos & a pair of B&W 801’s which have done great service over the years when doing rowing etc.But new neighbour objects to the noise … it is considerable in fairness and my choice in music is shall we say wide!I need to start using some decent wireless headphones and these new Sony ones seem well regarded. My question is how best to do in general? I use NAS fed FLAC files and are getting drawn into streaming services. The CA is RJ45 linked as is all my Sonos stuff. I also watch NAS stored video music/live using the AUX link and sometimes just TV.Agree with older posts that I’d rather use proper speakers than headphones but the choice is not there this time. Don’t need any multi room on that part of my Sonos.Never used any headphones before let alone wireless. Could use some advice h
Hi. I’m not clear whether Sonos 2 high resolution quality software will be available to Play 5 (2nd gen) and play are. I know both these speakers are compatible with new Sonos 2 but it hasn’t been explained to my knowledge if high resolution will only be possible on the newer speakers. In short, will I have to upgrade my speakers to the brand new version of play 5 and playbar to avail of the full value of the new Sonos software? Thanks
Hi there, I purchased the Arc and have it set up with Gen 3 Sub and two Play Ones/ SL. I have this connected to my 2021 LG 55 CX TV via the 2.1 connection. In addition I have a PS4 Pro and Apple TV 4K connected to the other HDMI ports. As far as I know I have this connected as planned and setting set up correctly. EG Atmos works, 5.1PCM on TV etc. The problems I have are: When switching from PS4 to Netflix for example the sound stops working. So I pause the game and put PS4 into rest mode. Then head to Netflix and the sound doesn't work. I end up turning the TV off and it works I have heard popping from the Arc going from one device to anotherAny thoughts? CheersSean
Just bought an arc and the power cord doesn’t seem to fit very snugly into the back of the sound bar. Surely it shouldn’t be so loose & flimsy… what am I missing ?
Good morning everyone, I recently received the brand new Sonos Arc and I am currently having issues with lip sync when using any external player. My setup is as follows: Sonos Arc connected to Earc HDMI port Xbox one X connected to gaming HDMI port Tv set to pass through Xbox set to HDMI out Dolby Digital for home theater. Both HDMI cables are 8K rated and brand new Is there a setting I am messing up along the line? I had thought that the HDMI 2.1 Earc port was meant to resolve all of these issues. I would love to keep this product as its perfect for my setup but the audio sync issue is a deal breaker!! Any help would be appreciated!
My S1 system will no longer connect to my Windows 10 laptop, but does continue to connect to my Windows 10 desktop and Samsung S8+ (Android) phone. Can you help me get the laptop reconnected?
I'm the owner of a Sonos Arc since a couple of days. I already had a stereo pair of One speakers. I took some time to add them as surrounds, as it did not work straight away. First I had to reset them otherwise it wouldn't work in the S2 app.I have a LG CX TV and use the E-ARC port. Everything is working fine except for the volume control with the LG remote. I've tried this, but it still doesn't work. Please help me out to make this work. Thanks.
I have 7 different SONOS components and want to know the mfg. date.I see the most recent registration date - but that is not helpful. Thanks
I am in college with a few roommates. All on the same WiFi and they have figured out that they can connect to my speaker and crank the music all the way up. I need a way to password protect it so my speaker doesn’t blast Hannah Montana at 3am against my will.
I’m have been trying To get Dolby digital plus to work on my Sonos arc with no luck so far. My tv supports it and I have had it working through the native movie player on my tv and through my nvidia shield 2015 and 2017 versions. On occasion sound will play and it’s completely out of sink. But in the about my Sonos system section of the S2 app it will only show Dolby Digital 5.1 or I just wont get any sound. Im still not sure if it’s the arc which is the problem or my TV. Normal Dolby Digital streams from my PlayStation and Xbox work perfectly in Dolby Digital. But DD+ has been a disaster so far. Any advice would be appreciated.
My new home living room is 15’ x 20’ and 10’ highThe ceiling has been pre-holed and pre-wired for 5 speakers (3 ceiling holes near the Tv and 2 in back)The Tv will be the new LG GX frame model and a Sonos Arc or Beam would not be suitable on the wall. All the sound will be coming from the 5 ceiling speakers and I’d also like to use the speakers for stereo music listening, when not watching TV.I plan on purchasing:5 InCeiling Sonance1 Sonos AmpQuestions:Will the TV sound right (especially dialogue) without a Sonos Arc or Beam? Will I get stereo sound with a 5 speaker array or does the center speaker have to be turned off?Do you have any other suggestions?
or is there anything i can buy that will replicate surround sound on my sonas arc soundbar , as at the moment bbc channels and itv etc just play in stereo. i would appreciate any help or advice as to what to buy ..
Can I have my Sonos beam to the right of my tv?
I have been having this issue since I got the ARC, basically audio drops when switching to different devices or exiting internal apps back to tv tuner. At first I thought audio was just dropping, but I now realise it’s the HDMI ARC connection that is the issue, as basically the ARC is losing the connection to TV and along with it the audio, weather this is an LG issue or Sonos issue I’m not sure.I can get the Sonos working again by switching off eARC and back on again in the LG audio settings.Even if this is an LG issue perhaps Sonos can work with LG to try and solve it.
