high resolution on Play 5 with new Sonos app.

Hi. I’m not clear whether Sonos 2 high resolution quality software will be available to Play 5 (2nd gen) and play are. I know both these speakers are compatible with new Sonos 2 but it hasn’t been explained to my knowledge if high resolution will only be possible on the newer speakers. In short, will I have to upgrade my speakers to the brand new version of play 5 and playbar to avail of the full value of the new Sonos software? Thanks

I would like to share with you this guide about supported audio formats which indicates as well specifically the Sonos S2 app additional supported audio format. For the home theater audio format, here is the link that discusses all about Unsupported audio on your home theater speaker. You do not have to upgrade to the new versions of speakers and Playbar since they are both compatible with the Sonos S2 app as discussed here.
