Hi, if I have two Moves in a stereo pair, what happens if I take one to a different room temporarily? Does it recognise it has been moved and switch to mono or would I have to unpair the two then re-pair them when I return the Move to its normal place?
Hi everyone,I own a Move. If I buy a Five and plug in a device using the line-in, will I be able to play music from the device in different rooms on both products (or while the Move is in wi-fi range)?I do not want to play in stereo (I've already found that info) but just need to confirm multiple Sonos products will work hope I hope they will. Thanks!
I have the home theater set up for my tv. I have a beam and two Sonos oneSL. Right now it is set to surround sound. Can I change it to a mono setting so that all three speakers are putting out the same sound? I’d like to be able to hear the voices instead of the background noise on the rear speakers.
Hi,I am trying to build a 7.1 Home Theater system for my basement.Following is the kind of system I am trying to build (Link at Dolby site). Also see the picture below: I was wondering, if we have an Arc as mid, can we setup a 7.1 through Sonos? Any idea? Moderator note: We updated this article in October 2023 with new information below. With the introduction of the Sonos Arc and the Era 300 we now support Dolby Atmos surround sound. If you want to know more please check out this article on our community or The Ultimate Guide to a Sonos Home Theater on our blog.
Hi all - looking to take a first step into Sonos in my family room that already has two decent Front L/R speakers. My thought it to add an AMP to power those (creates Phantom Center) and then buy two One SLs to pair with the audio source plugged into the AMP. Am I understanding this setup correctly? And do any of you suggest a different configuration? Thanks in advance for your advice. Cheers!
Recently my Sonos system but specifically the beam has been having issues connecting the the internet. It plays TV audio, but Alexa doesnt work and it cant play any internet sources. The rear speakers connected to it still work and can usually share the Tv audio to the other rooms. I beleive it started when i changed some router settings to get the BT vision box working properly, but i think Ive put them back and Im still having problems. I think a new neighbour changed ISP, and the router was interfering too, which was affecting other speakers, but I changed wireless channel and everything else seems to be better, just the beam.Anyone got any ideasIve run a diagnotic, which is 1246674982, if that helps at all
Hi I recently bought the Sonos beam. I’m absolutely thrilled With it so much so I have just purchased two of the Sonos one SL is wireless multi room speakers. However, after connecting I find that I am unable to hear the TV sound through the speakers. I went through the setup twice in case I’d done something wrong. But The setup system is that easy to do there is nothing complicated that would’ve made me think I did anything wrong. Now to my surprise and reading reviews on here I find that the speakers which were advertised as giving the ultimate in surroundsound is totally untrue. Yes it gives amazing sound with the music but I’m watching regular TV I cannot hear through the sound bar because the music from the speakers is far too loud. I can’t help but think that I have purchased these items which I’m not really fit for purpose to enhance TV sound it is for music sound only. Does anybody have any information they can give me to either rectify this if there is any rectification or
I have a SONY 5 CD player with optical out. I connected it to my Sonos Beam with the HDMI Sonos adapter. When I play a CD on the SONY no sound comes out of the Sonos. What else do I need to do? Thank you
Hi -- I have two connect:amps and am interested in upgrading them for the newer amps. For some reason, one of them shows up as upgrade eligible and the other doesn’t. Is there a way to find out why this or, and/or to get my currently non-eligible one added to the upgrade program? Thanks for any help you can offer!
Hi All.I have a playbar and want to use it in a cinema set up with our 85 inch tv. Question is is it best to use it just with a sub, or buy Sonos cinema system and get rid of playbar. Any advice or suggestions welcome.
I have 3 x CR100 controllers. I note they are no longer supported by Sonos. What do I do with them? Will Sonos take them back to recycle them?

Hi TeamMy home has wired ceiling speakers which are independent over two floors. If I run two AMPs for each floor can IPlay the same audio across both AMPs Create up to 4 zones (2 on each AMP) and play different audio in each zone or mute say 1 or two zones across the AMPs whilst playing through the other zones (each speaker on each floor has independent connection) Sync ARC sound bar to zone in same room but with ability to choose to only play through ARC or through ceiling speakers and ARC as I choose Have different volumes per ZoneQuite a few q’s I know but keen to make the right decision here and at least understand how it works. Pretty new to Sonos so all help really appreciated.Cheers
My primarily way to play music on my Sonos system & speakers is using airplay. I have 9 different rooms setup.. is there a way to play all or create a button to play all rooms with out having to select each room individually.
Hi allI am going to be mounting my LG OLED TV over my fireplace (pellet stove insert). I have an old Bose 3-2-1 system i’ll be retiring and looking to go to the Sonos Arc for obvious reasons - my main challenge/concern is that space between the mantle where I would need to place the arc and the TV will be very tight due to the space available from mantle to ceiling. I have read through some of the forums about the required space on either side of the unit - I am wondering if I will be severely limited if I place the arc on the mantle close to the wall so it sits just behind the TV so as not to block the bottom of the TV (as the TV has little to no bevel). with the bracket, there should be room for the arc to sit just behind the TV - appreciate any advice/suggestions to make this work (or if this an alternate sonos sound bar that may work better with the space I have to work with.
Just like tapping the volume touch controls on the device, I'd like to configure my device to make the same sound when I change it's volume with my Google Chromecast remote.
I would like to buy a record player and play my vinyl records through a pair of Sonos One speakers. Is this possible and, if so, can anyone recommend a record player which would be a good match for the speakers? Thanks!
Hello,I’m not clear on the correct answer to this - I’ve searched the forum quite a bit.I am not ready to buy a NAS just yet. Can I use a “dumb hard drive” that connects via ethernet cable to my wireless router, and will my Sonos ecosystem see that as my music library? Any downsides? If this does work, then what are the advantages of a NAS that I’d be missing out on? Thanks in advance -
I’m confused about whether the port is only needed if you have a traditional turntable you want to connect to Sonos or do you also need the port to connect a Sonos turntable to the rest of the Sonos system.
Hello folks!I just ordered an arc + sub to replace my play base. I live in a 1200 sf apartment on the corner of the building and my living room is to the outside so there are 3 walls between my living room and my neighbor next to me (bedroom wall, 2 closet walls, and bathroom wall) I don’t think the sound from the sub will travel through all that at reasonable volumes but I am worried about disturbing my downstairs neighbor. Would an isolation pad under the sub help? Or would that not really do anything because of the force cancelling drivers in the gen 3 sub? Any apartment dwellers with the sub have any insight?
When it’s such a regularly discussed and requested feature, and seems like such a quick win, why is there no news on a schedule for Night Sound? It’s really annoying when I found out my system has been limited unnecessarily because I forgot to disable the feature manually.
Hi all,From my quick search this question hasn’t been answered in over a year - apologies if I’ve missed the most recent discussion.Has Sonos adapted itself to be a airplay 2 sender yet?Cheers in advance
Hi! So I suck at setting up home audio. My question may sound elementary for many but I wanted to see if anyone had a solution here. I own the following Sonos items: (1) Sonos Amp and (2) Sonos Play 1s.I recently purchased a home that has 2 wired outdoor speakers installed. What I would like to do is setup my living room TV with my Sonos Amp and 2 Sonos Play 1s WHILE also connecting the 2 wired outdoor speakers to the living room amp. What I DO NOT want to happen is when I watch my living room TV for the sound NOT to play on the 2 wired outdoor speakers. Rather I’d like to operate the outdoor and indoor speakers separately (i.e., music being played outdoors while the basketball game playing indoors) but I’d also like to have the option of playing all rooms together if I were to listen to music. Hope that makes sense. Is there a way to do this without purchasing more equipment?
I have 2 Sonos One gen.2 speakers and want to connect my CD player. What do i need to do that?
Hi,My TV setup currently consists of 5 (3 in front and 2 surround) overhead speakers and a Sonos sub. I’m interested in getting a Sonos arc as I’m very happy with its audio quality and Dolby atmos sound. However I don’t want to have Sonos ones as surround speakers as I would like to maintain the clean aesthetic of in wall speakers. Is is possible to combine the Sonos arc with in wall speakers to achieve a full surround setup. Thanks for any help.
