Helloonce the play 3 are soothed in stereo to use as suround, can I still listen to them individually if I wish? or do we have to unpair them each time? Thanks
Right now I don’t have a receiver or turnable, but want to establish a sonos system that could double as a sound bar for the TV and support a line in music source from a turntable. If I purchased the Pro-Ject T1 Phono SB Turntable (with the pre-amp), connected to a Sonos Port, and a Beam -- would that accomplish what I want. Or would I need to purchase say a Sonos Five for the turntable, and then the Beam for the TV? Thanks.
How can I tell if my connects are gen. 1 or 2 (I have 4)?
Hi,I’d like to manage albums from different sources (local NAS, Spotify, other streaming services) in one library. Like the Sonos Music Library function, but with the ability to add albums from streaming services. Sonos Favorites don’t do the job for me because it is just a flat list, and I’d like to be able to browse by different criterias (albums, artists, composers, genres, ...).Does anyone know a good solution for that?Regards, Robert
Hi, We are buying a set of turntables and also considering buying a sonos amp so that we can have our existing Sonos speakers and turntable all on one system. We currently have one Play 1 and one Play 5 speakers. We will ultimately buy some stereo speakers for the amp/turntables, but initially we’d would like to just use the existing Sonos speakers that we have. I had two questions:Am I correct to assume that we will be able to connect the Play 1 and Play 5 speakers (each in different rooms), via the amp, to our turntables, and run them as mono speakers? Once we have acquired a set of stereo speakers to add the set up, will we be able to continue using the Play 1 and Play 5 as mono speakers, whilst using the new speakers as a stereo set up?Thanks.
I just updated to the “new” Sonos app and updated my speakers. However I noticed that whenever I do a search now it doesn’t show the music files on my device. Is that expected? The old app used to search both my Music Library and my device’s music files. Did Sonos really take away the ability to play files off your device? If so that seems like something that should have been clearly identified before asking Users to upgrade.
just bought a SONOS Move. Initially concerned that when I took it outside it wouldn’t see my Wi-fi. I hadn’t appreciated it doesn’t support sonosnet. Luckily this isn’t an issue so long a# I set it up on the 2.4Ghz network. The real issue I hadn’t thought of is my controllers (iPad and iPhone) struggle to control the sonos system as the Wi-fi signal is poor. I’ve read loads of questions and answers around using Wi-fi extenders with sonos, mostly concluding buy a sonos bridge (I’ve 2) or a sonos boost. None though about getting the controller working. Obviously sonosnet is invisible to the controllers. So, is there a Wi-fi extender that will work, should it be set up as an AP (probably not as this creates a subnet) or configure as pass through?
Wondering if 2 5’s work horizontally for a stereo setup with sub?
would love it if there was a feature where the led(s) on the arc would change color when it is receiving an atmos track so you can tell without going in to the app. this could also be expanded by adding different colors for different soundformats. example: blue = atmos, yellow = dolby digital , white = stereo
Hi,I have a beam & a couple of play:1’s running of a Hisense TV & its great, but watching TV especially catch up, I have to turn it up to 20+.Netflix would be about 8-10 maybe. Any ideas? I have done the unplug & turn everything off & reconnect. My app said Stereo PCM 2.0 for the beam at the time Cheers
I can’t believe Sonos play 5 gen 2 doesn’t have wireless connectivity with a tv. I have a Bose unit from 6 years ago that connects perfectly. Sonos mention you need a hardwired 3.5mm headphone cable to join. 10 years ago maybe!!! I have a wall mounted outdoor tv. Cannot connect wirelessly. And, I use YouTube music, which will not stream directly to the unit either. The app with sonos is very limited with YouTube music. I just want to listen to some music through a TV, and easily cast from a direct app (no third party Sonos app). Come on guys, it’s not 2000 anymore. 2 vey basic needs I cannot do.
Hello,I’m putting together a system now while the walls are open. We want to use an ARC with a third party subwoofer amp (and in wall sub). It seems we need to use the SONOS Amp just for the Sub out RCA to go to the third party sub woofer amp. I’m not 100% certain so I’m wondering if any one has experience and/or knowledge of this so I’d really appreciate some feedback. Specifically what is being sent to that sub out on the SONOS amp?
I have old Play 1 speakers (2014 or older) and have purchased 2 new One SL speakers. Can I group them and be able to use airplay to play on all speakers?
How does the Arc compare with the older Playbar? Sound? Dialogue?
Watching anything on the TV and all of a sudden the volume shoots up or drops way down on its own.
We have our player attached to the bottom of out tv. It is in good working order. It seems as tho we have a hard time hearing people talking while watching tv in the evenings. Our playbar is set up in a huge room with 13 ft ceilings, hardwood floors and only leather furniture. It is open to our kitchen as well. Wondering what additional system would be good to add to get a better sound?
Have connected it to my Sony Bravia TV (KD-55XE8505) by HDMI cable (ARC).I have a setup with two wired Dali speakers.I´ve added two Sones ones as back speakers in a surround setup. When watching TV, sounds come out, but in the app SystemInfo, it display “Stereo PCM 2.1” as sound Input. I´m in doubt if it plays in surround or only stereo. If playing surround what should it say in “sound Input”?I have tried various setups on the TV, but the AMP keep on saying “Stereo PCM 2.1” as sound Input.
Can you have a pair of Sonos One SL speakers as surrounds and a pair of Sonos One SL’s as surround backs. These would be in conjunction with a Sonos Arc and a Sonos sub within the same system.
I own a Sonos Arc, connected to my TV through ARC. My kitchen sink is fairly far from the TV so as I’m doing the dishes, it can be harder to hear the television audio unless I crank up the volume, in which case other people in the room complain it’s too loud. I was thinking of getting the One SL speakers -- I know you can use them as rear surround speakers but I’m also wondering if I would be able to reassign one of them periodically to put right next to my kitchen sink so that I can hear the main TV audio coming through it (not just the surround feed). To clarify, I would want the main audio feed coming out of both the Arc by the TV and the One SL next to the kitchen sink. If this can’t be done with the One SL, could it be done with the Move?
I just recently set up a beam plus sub gen 3. It works great for music but when using the Beam as a TV speaker on our 2020 Samsung Frame, the sub does not seem to be doing anything. If you put you ear up next to it you can hear a faint electrical sound but no bass. This is only happening when using the setup for TV. Any advice?
Now that the Playbase/bar is discontinued and the Arc/Beam is taking over when can we expect our Base/Bar to be obsolete?
Keen to purchase a Move. It will be used indoors and then outdoors in the summer. I have an existing Sonos system working off a Boost. Will Move be able to connect to the Boost and be apart of my system. I was a little worried about this phase: <<The Move can connect to your router’s Wi-Fi network but not the separate wireless network created by a wired Sonos product.»I use WIFI all the time. Grateful for a comment from someone who has done this recently. Many thx
How do I use the Sonos Beam as a speaker for my Denon AVR X500 receiver?
I currently use a PlayBar inside a Just-Racks 1654 cabinet/entertainment center, that has a cloth front and special sound bar mount so it passes through PlayBar audio just fine. For pictures of the cabinet, check this site. I’m considering replacing the PlayBar with the Arc but would like to put it inside the cabinet. The soundbar mount is height adjustable, so the sound bar can get 10+ cm space on the top, but obviously the cabinet will still block some of the sound that’s going up vertically compared to when it’s on top of the cabinet. And there are sides that potentially block part of the left and right firing speakers, they’re approx 25 cm from the Arc’s sides. According to Spectral (Just-Racks parent company) the Arc works well and they’ve tested it with the Arc with good results, but I’d like to get a second opinion, hope that somebody here has experimented with putting the Arc inside a cabinet vs on top of it, and compare the difference.
I have signed up for Amazon HD music, I read the SONOS article saying What is Amazon Music on Sonos? There are four tiers of access to Amazon Music on Sonos:Amazon Music Unlimited Amazon Music HD Prime Music Amazon Music LibraryOk.. sounds good - but when you add Amazon Music and select from the services it only shows Amazon Music. There is no distinction specifying the different services.Does the stream revert to what I have purchased “HD” automatically? Thanks
