If I connect a source device, such as a CD player, to an Era speaker will the music play only through that particular Era speaker or can it be routed to also play through my other Eras and/or beam?
I purchased 2 ERA 100’s that I stream music to from my iPhone.I also purchased the Beam Gen 2 that is hooked into my Samsung TV via HDMI ARC.Is there a way to group them - Beam Gen 2 + Two Era 100’s together and switch between streaming music from my iPhone and listening to a movie on my Samsung TV? How to group? How to Connect? How to switch back & forth – TV & iPhone music?Thank you!
I hate to throw them away… they still sounded amazing until the S1 was bricked on my devices.
Beware this one’s a bumpy ride again. Music is playing but it can’t find a system on my network😳 I’d suggest waiting a day or two for this to stabilise. I now have a broken system….again. Keeps telling me to sign in but sign in button is ineffective.App start up does not recognise my network.Getting connection time outs even when it’s showing music is playing. No streaming services working Basically an unusable mess🙄 EDIT :Update…After about an hour my system has stabilised. One of my Sonos Ones kept showing as not updated this has now been fixed. PositivesAlbum art works for every track in my local library, previously this was about 50% System seems fasterTrueplay now working again on iPhone 16pro So after a rocky update, of which my Internet provider may have played a part, things are looking good.
I have an open floor plan for living room/kitchen. 20ft x 40ft. I have corner TV mounted over fireplace with arc. Center couch in middle of room and a corner chair. Looking to balance sound into kitchen. Was thinking of adding gen 4 sub, but confused on placement of era 100s or era 300s given constraints of room. Was thinking 2 era 300s on one back corner of couch by wall cabinet and other behind side chair on stands and an era 100 or 300 in kitchen. Appreciate any thoughts and hope my pics upload for assistance in visual. Thank you.
I have just purchased a Sonos Beam Gen 2. I do enjoy the sound but cannot connect to Google Assistan.I notice over the last week or so, others have a similar problem. I have tried using the ‘bot’ and email with no help at all.I am a newbee and was wondering if anyone knows what’s going on? Is there a solution? or are we waiting for a fix from Sonos?Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank
Today I tried to connect to the app. It will not play content displays no content found and does not pull up TV as a source. I cannot get my audio controls to recognize my speakers. WIFI is working fine.
It appears that Amazon Music is now supported with Google Assistant and Google Nest devices.Has anyone got them to work together on their Sonos speakers? It’s almost like I’ve got them halfway working together with my Sonos Beam. Google Assistant recognizes some commands but not all. What’s also weird is that if I check my Google activity, it doesn’t show the commands I’m requesting. However, if I use my Google Assistant app on my iPad and ask it to play an album or song on my living room speaker, it works perfectly and show the command in my Google activity. This is what I mean by it’s working “halfway”.Perhaps Sonos themselves aren’t aware Amazon Music hasn’t been added to Google Assistant which is why it might not be work correctly.
I have an old beamer which does not support wi-fi nor BT, it only has an HDMI output where I have a chrome cast plugged in.any chance to include my Sonos (Ikea) stereo setup?thanks
Background:I will have a Wifi Access Point - that is wired directly to my router - in my living room with the Sonos gear (Arc Ultra, Sub 4, ERA 300's), so my wifi signal will be strong. I can also hard-wire that gear (probably the ARC) to my router as well. I've read where wifi is sufficient, but I like to cover all my bases at installation time, so I don't have to run wires at a later time. With that said, I'm considering using wifi, but connecting the ARC to an ethernet cable that is NOT connected to my router, but could be in case of a future issue. Question: Will simply connecting the ARC to an un-attached ethernet cable prevent the ARC (and rest of the Sonos gear) from leveraging wifi? Some systems see an ethernet connection and immediately give the hardwired connection a priority.Thanks,-PH
Hi Folks - I’m struggling to find a clear answer so asking here…Background: I have a Arc and 2 Sonos 100 speakers connected in my living room. All 3 are synced to play audio when watching TV and music from our phones via Spotify/Sonos app. I bought my wife a vinyl record player (Sony Electronics Inc, PS-LX310BT Belt Drive Turntable, Automatic Wireless Vinyl Record Player with Bluetooth and USB Output). The Ask: I would like to be able to play records and have the music come through all 3 speakers. What do I need to purchase and/or connect to make this happen? From what I’ve read I need a Sonos Port? Would my life be easier if I sold this Sony record player and purchased/used a Pro-Ject T1 Phono SB Turntable instead? Thank you for the help.
After a few settings in my router, I now have a much better experience with the Sonos App. Playing music and adjusting the volume is done almost without delays and the App opens/loads significantly faster.I'll try to make it short :)I have a Wifi 6 router that provides a very strong and stable wifi network, so I should therefore get a fairly high speed on the products that support Wifi 6. I discovered that my Arc Ultra was on 2.4Ghz even though it supports 5Ghz on Wifi 6.I turned off my Sub and 2xEra300 so that only Ultra was on, restarted my Ultra and saw that it was connected to 5Ghz. After that I went into my router where I initially discovered that it was not set to the highest Mhz on the 2.4 & 5Ghz network. Switched to the highest Mhz, and I locked the iP Ultra was connected to.Turned off Ultra and restarted my router and Ultra, could see that Ultra connected to the locked IP and on 5Ghz. Then I turned on my Sub and 2xEra300. After a very short time I could see everything was
Is there a way to cast to a different set of speakers from previous session? When i go to cast the only option is to cast to the same set of speakers that I used the last time.
My system: Beam Generation 2, Sub Mini and One SL and One as surrounds, with Apple TV 4k Generation 3 with 128 GB, LG TV 60” with EARC outputI was not getting Dolby Atmos from the Apple TV, just Dolby Digital 5.1 even with HDMI 2.1 cables. Couldn’t even get to the Immersive Audio option in settings on the Apple TV. Then I saw this from Apple’s support page: “Apple TV 4K uses a high bandwidth form of Dolby Atmos that doesn’t work over ARC connections”. Apparently to get atmos you have to connect the Apple TV directly to the sound bar, which is useless if you are using a soundbar with one input like the Beam.Fortunately I also have a FireStick which immediately gave me the option for ATmos and is working fine. Would an EARC splitter like Arcana Fury enable to accomplish this with the Apple TV?
Sonos makes a great product and is the leader in the wireless speaker whole home entertainment market. However, the Sonos website doesn’t make it easy for current users and/or potential buyers to determine (locate) which sub to use with a particular Sonos speaker, stereo pair or the Sonos Amp. The information does exist but requires a bit of searching to locate. Currently, the best answer is found obscurely under the Sub 4 page.https://www.sonos.com/en-us/shop/sub-4-black While either the full size Sub or Sub Mini will work in many different scenarios. The Sub Mini does have a few specific use cases wherein the full size Sub may be overkill depending upon room size and Sonos or 3rd party speakers employed. One specific use case for the Sub Mini is with the Amp powering Small Book Shelf speakers. I have the following setup:Sonos Amp ProJect Sonos Edition Carbon Turntable Cambridge Pre-Amp Definitive Technology Demand D7 Book Shelf speakers Sub MiniPrior to the Sub Mini I used a Sub (Ge
I can’t believe Sonos Have suckered me again. From all the descriptions on the shop website I believed Ace headphones would connect to my Sonos network. I have now discovered that they are no more than Bluetooth headphones. I cannot access my music library which was the whole reason I bought them for. I have spent three hours this afternoon speaking to support Only to find the advisor, knew virtually nothing about the headphones and had to be told by a colleague eventually that it was impossible to connect. Do not buy this product if you think it has anything to do with the Sonos home system.
Waited for some time like many with Sonos products for the app update. I can finely use this huge investment I have made in Sonos again like so many have. All systems go and just in time for Xmas and I might just re invest in the the new Arc.A word to Sonos I made a big switch from Bose to Sonos because in my opinion you had the edge but something like an app renders it almost useless and on that note all the best to everyone.
I have headphones for my existing TV that come t via a standard red/white audio cables how do I connect it to the Sonos Arc SL while watching TV
I have an Arc soundbar connected to a Sub and 2 Sonos Ones... but I don't know if I should replace the Sonos Ones with two Five speakers that I have in another room to improve the sound experience of the system, or if the Fives would actually be redundant or wasted in that system... and if that's the case, it would be best to buy two Era 300s for that TV room audio system... what do you think? A. Leave Arc + Sub + 2 OnesB. Use Arc + Sub + 2 FivesC. Use Arc + Sub + buy 2 Era 300
Do any of the Sonos Speakers produce sound in stereo on their own or can I only hear stereo with two paired speakers? In either case which is the best to choose?
We have been more than patient. Younsold us these headphones with two big selling points...the audio swapping with our home entertainments systems and truecinema. You ha e been silence forever on the truecinema and now have removed it from the web page. Removing it doesn't make you not reliable to give us what you soldnus on. Knock off the Ultra updates and put priority to devices you sold half a year ago and have not made whole yet. A class action lawsuit sure as hell isn't going to help your image.
Hi all. I cannot connect my Sonos ACE (actual version: 3.1.5-2323a694e) to my LG C4 (WebOS version 23.20.38).Can someone tell if it is not posible? I don't have a sonos soundbar. Thank you very much. Regards,
I own 12 Sonos products in my system and love the hardware. The interface, however, is lacking. There are three tv sound bars including ann arc, arc ultra, and play bar. They work fine as soundbars driven by the optical cable on my tv’s. But since the app update some time ago, none of the other items work. It’s all software issues, but without a,way to use the speakers, what’s the point? It may be time to rethink my approach to audio in my home. RIP Sonos.
At last Sonos seems to have fixed the delays when using the volume slider and for start/stop buttons. It was incomprehensible to me how an audio company could release software which had such delays. Yes there should be a small delay as they buffer on play, but stop or mute should have been instantaneous. This latest update fixes the responsiveness fo EQ settings too. But why they bury these settings so far from the volume controls is still a pain
Folks .. I've just spent almost a week sorting out my Sonos system and resolving issues. Some of this info might help someone. Especially if you don't have time to read 100's of articles online. Ironic I know!I initially had S1 and S2 setups. S1 - 2 x Play 5's as a stereo pairS2 - Playbar + Gen 1 Sub + 2 x Play:1'sIssue 1 - never managed to connect both Play1's as rear surrounds Playlists not able to share between S1 & S2Fed up with latest S2 app .. appalling!Decided to downgrade everything to S1Tip 1: Sonos says to reset every speaker BUT instructions say to hold join button until flashing red & white etcWent round in circles until one time when I held it longer until I got green flashing lights .. then it worked as expected.Tip2: (Should maybe be Tip 1)Keep your S2 app so you can downgrade to S1 .. (same holding join button much longer trick also helped with this.)Tip3: Gave up with using Rear surrounds so now using Play1's as a stereo pair in the main TV Room group. Tip4: mo
