When will Sonos Voice Control work ok with Youtube Music? I want to speak to my Sonos Roam in the bathroom. Giving commands like «play something from Nirvana», «play relaxing music».Not able to do this. I can’t believe it! Please fix this already. When will Sonos get this basic functionality?
If I have my computer on, will Sonos voice assistance play songs from my Music Library?
I’ve been using a Sonos One with SVC and Alexa for 5 months. Recently, SVC stopped responding, so I tried removing it and reinstalling, but it fails near the end of the SVC installation process every time. I’ve tried from 2 different devices with the same result. Today I’ve done a reset of the One and tried again, but it still fails. Alexa and music services appear to be working normally. Any suggestions?Moderator edit: combined posts:Scrub that! Since the system reset now Alexa won’t play any music. Internet queries are fine and Airplay still works 😞 Ok, got Alexa working again by removing the Sonos skill and re-adding it. Still can’t install SVC. I should add that I’m running the latest App and firmware versions available. The installation appears to fail at around 90% progress.
Sonos randomly thinks someone has asked it a question and provides a useless (and loud) answer to the non-question. It doesn’t happen often but it’s often unnerving if it does. It has nothing to do with the TV being on, as has been given as “the” answer on questions from other users. It doesn’t ususally happen then. It sometimes happens when no one is in the room where Sonos lives. I am told to turn voice control off, and I may do that, but isn’t this a bug in SONOS software that they should fix?
Dear community,My family consists of me (father), my wife and my two sons. We have SONOS speakers all over the house, among them Play One’s in my kid’s rooms. We all have the SONOS S2 app installed on our individual iPhones, and each of us is logged into his or her own respective account of Apple Music Family, also being logged in to each one’s individual account of the Apple Music Family service on each one’s SONOS app. The SONOS system is registered to me.Obviously, we want to prevent that our four different music tastes are mixed. All works fine as long as the (Apple Music or SONOS) apps are used. Even when started by everyone’s SONOS app, the library, “recently played” section and music suggestions on the Apple Music accounts do not mix, it’s all allocated to the right account. Now enter voice control. My sons have Sonos One’s in their rooms and I understand that only one Apple Music account can be allocated to the houshold’s Alexa. Then we tried Sonos Voice Control and initially go
I can’t seem to play any playlist from either Apple Music or My Sonos using Voice Control. Can using app.Just installed new One’s and Move’s on my existing Connect and Play1 system. Love the voice control, but something doesn’t seem right.Removed Apple Music and reinstalled. Also made Apple Music default.Observation: Within Apple Music App the playlists are shown in a typical list with a color logo for each. Within Sonos App, under Apple Music, the playlists are shown without a logo but also not all are shown. Under “recently added” what appears to be all the Apple playlists are shown and most have a color logo. All this makes me think there’s a syncing issue or something.Ideas on how to resolve?
I am a long time Amazon Music + Assistant user on my Sonos One, and am attempting to change to Apple Music. Since my listening workflow is calling out songs or bands using voice-control, which works fairly well with Amazon, I am trying to use the Sonos Voice Assistant with my new Apple Music sub. Here is my problem -- accuracy is ABYSMAL for me so far! I’m not seeing this complaint often online, so I wonder (and hope) I am doing something wrong. The Sonos Assistant is using Apple Music (in fact I disconnected Amazon entirely from Sonos to make sure it wasn’t causing issues), but nearly all of my requests are failing entirely or being mistaken. Here is a sample workflow:Q: “Hey Sonos. Please the song ‘Solitary Man’ by ‘Crooked Fingers’” A: “Sorry, I didn’t understand what you asked for. Do you want to play something by Crooked Fingers instead?” Q: “Hey Sonos. Play the song ‘Solitary Man’ A: [Plays ‘Solid Men to the Front’] Q: “Hey Sonos. Play the song ‘Solitary Man’ A: [Plays ‘S
I have no problem using the app to play music from the music service Napster. but when I try to play music using Sonos Voice Control, it says that it cannot do that until I register with a music service. I tried to name Napster as my default music service but the app says that Napster is incompatible. I m using the app with the Sonos Roam, which I will have to return if I can’t play music with the voice controls (which is why I bought it).
HelloI’m a bit puzzled by an issue which started just few days ago (can’t pinpoint exactly when).I’ve been using Sonos Voice Control since it’s been released on a Sonos Roam and Sonos One to stream from my Apple Music, and it’s been working perfectly fine. Then suddenly, when requesting a specific song, I started to see error in the app “Unable to play song xxx, file not encoded correctly”, and nothing plays. The song is recognised and added properly to the queue, but can’t play. Pressing play button in the app at that stage gives the same error. If I then try to search the same song through the app and play it, it works perfectly fine. So it’s really just when finding the song through voice assistant that it doesn’t work.If there’s nothing in the queue to start with and I just say “Hey Sonos, play music” (so nothing specific), it starts playing from my “station” and it works well… I tried to remove Sonos Voice Assistant and re-add it, I tried to remove Apple Music and re-add it, I tried
My sonos move can't connect to sonos voice control. It times out and asks me if I have a wifi connection, which I do,a good one.
Hi, I am about to acquire an Arc and some Era300. I watched some youtube video saying sonos voice control does not work with spotify. Are these video still up to date ? Maybe this has been fixed recently ? Does it ? Thanks for you share. P
Hi.I like to start browsing Video services while still playing music and turn off Autoplay, if I don’t forget it. Otherwise obviously the music stops. Would be great if I could turn off/on Autoplay with Alexa or Sonos Voice Control.what do you think?regards, mao
Hi, I need to know how to configure sirius and spotify on the hey sonos voice
Hi All, I switched to Sonos Voice Control (SVC) several months ago and loved the fact that it was more accurate than Alexa because it had a narrower list of things to do. However, more recently, I’ve started to notice that there is an error with the way that it works with Apple Music. I have never used SVC with any other music service. What seems to be happening is this: I say “Hey Sonos - play Out of Touch by Hall and Oats” SVC correctly interprets my request and finds the correct song from somewhere (i’ll come back to this point). The song is not played. To the user it seems like the voice command didn’t work. I check the app and it shows the correct song, but it is not playing. I click “Play” and I get the message “This item is no longer available.” If I search for Out of Touch by Hall and Oats manually on the app, the album version which Sonos found earlier is not displayed, and I am instead shown a different version. For example, whereas SVC found and tried to play “The V
When asking to play music from apple music via voice control I get the following answer Apple Music is not activated on your system while it is.anyone has the same issue?
I can't get SVC to play my Apple Music playlists (on a Sonos Roam). I've tried to rename them to simpler names and tried all types of ways of phrasing, it always fails or gets confused. Sometimes it will load my "station" but never the playlist.I tried to add the playlist to My Sonos playlist section and I similarly can't get it to work. Is there a reliable way to get this to work or is playlist support broken for Apple Music using SVC?
I’ve read several posts regarding SVC no longer working for Spotify and some answering that it never has? SVC worked for Spotify on my Sonos Move2 until last week, I agree with the person that started this thread, SVC and Spotify did work.
As linked to above....my beam randomly turns off the microphone so you have to get up and turn it back on which defeats the point of using your voice. It seems to happen randomly. When it's on its own, and I can't be sure how or why it keeps disabling itself. It has never failed to turn back on, but why does it turn off??
All of a sudden, I'm having issues with one of our arcs. When trying to use sonos voice control for any command it will reply, "I can't locate that. Please check your product name." I can say anything and that's the reply. Tried unplugging the power. Tried removing voice control and reinstalling. Tried unplugging, holding down Infiniti button to reset, reinstalling voice control... all fails with same message. The arc shows up in my controller and it works via my phone but the Sonos voice command simply stopped working when it had been working just fine for a year. I'm stumped. Any ideas?
I can turn it on and off using voice control. It will not adjust the volume up or down. I have changed the voice assistant and tried Sonos, alexa and Google. Volume won't work with any of them.
I have 6 Sonos devices in the house (3 Era 100, a Port, Arc and Sub Mini). Just want to use the SCV command play everywhere without playing to the Arc. Can do? The other night after play everywhere turned on the TV and TV audio was coming through the other speakers in the house, That shouldn’t happen.
By experimenting, I Have just discovered that if you manually start an on-demand Apple Music radio station show in the Sonos app - and then when a particular song plays - you use a follow up voice command to say “Hey Sonos - Play More Songs by this artist” it does. Also “plays more songs by an artist” - if you start by manually starting a station based initially on a particular song - where it usually plays a playlist of similar songs by various artists - and follow up with a similar voice command to the one previously mentioned.
On Sonos One - using Sonos Voice Control - “Hey Sonos - Play more songs by this artist” voice command when a certain artist is playing on ‘Apple Music One Live Radio’ is so inspiring that it makes me Eager to listen more and try it on more music artists. Particularly useful if the name of the artist is unfamiliar to pronounce like some of the classical music artists - or you just simply forget what to ask for - making this more convenient - to quickly get to the music. The result is it plays a radio station type playlist which I feel is sequenced in the style of what you have just heard and the chosen tracks portray the style of music that particular artist conveys - a bit like Creating a Station - Based on a particular song.” Alternatively, To get achieve a similar concept you could say “Hey Sonos - Play a station by this Artist” or “Hey Sonos - Play a Playlist by this Artist.”
If a Sonos One Gen 1 is stereo paired with a Sonos One Gen 2 - does the speed of the Gen 1 hinder the speed of the voice assistant booting up as Alexa currently boots up quicker on my Gen 1 - almost automatically - than Sonos Voice Control? Is Sonos Voice generally more responsive on Sonos One Gen 2?
If I am currently enjoying listening to a piece of music or podcast or radio station - I would like a way to use Sonos Voice Control to ask what is currently playing on ‘Apple Music One’ or ‘Apple Music Hits’ or ‘Apple Music Country’ while listening to my initial audio selection - to see if the alternative radio show is something I might like to listen to instead - before I decide whether or not to leave what I am currently listening to.This will help me to better be able to contemplate the listening options - to decide what would be best depending on my mood at the time etc - based on the information options Sonos Voice Control gives me - based on the current radio show schedule.
