Has anyone figured out how play a pandora station with voice control? I tried setting pandora as my default music provider but i cant get it to play anything from it. Im using the free version so i only have the stations. TIA
Tried asking Sonos to play Smooth Radio and it doesn’t recognise it, ask Alexa, plays it no problem. Any reason?
I want to listen to some foreign language radio stations which are in Sonos Radio - with transliterated titles. I can not get it to recognize my voice with those radio stations. Any advice? Is there a way of creating my own labels? Thanks
As the title states, when a compatible speaker is muted, when using “Hey Sonos” there is no audio indication that it heard the command, but it appears to function as normal - at least in the sense that the action requested doesn’t rely on any audio feedback. Is this functioning as expected, or should the voice/responses be audible when the speaker is muted?
Hello, as with any other voice assistant, I’d really like to see a minimal response option where I don’t get a spoken answer that’s twice as long as my command, but rather just a simple “pling” sound. Personally, as much as I like Giancarlo’s voice, I need voice assistants to be as unintrusive as possible - especially with “quick” commands which are used often, like volume control or grouping. UX-wise, a “pling” conveys a positive feedback as well as - or even better than - an actual answer. Any further ideas and discussion welcome.
Hi,It seems that Sonos doesn’t understand the vocal command “Hey Sonos, play lounge music on the ‘rez de chaussée’”.Rez-de-chaussée is a group I created (it means : downstairs). It doesn’t works on any group (Étage, Partout or Rez-de-chaussée).I have the last version of Sonos App Beta.Thanx for your analyse.BR
I have a system that is six years old in my home theater room. I have floor mounted speakers that work; however, the two ceiling speakers do not. My iphone app says the volume in that room is “fixed volume”. Can anyone offer advice before I reach out to Sonos directly?
Sonos Voice Control has a "what's playing" command, which is helpful, and there's apparently a way to check the battery level on battery powered speakers.I'd like to see another command added, something like "status", that would give more "state" information about my speakers (I can think of these offhand - there may be more):current Volume level current setting of Night Sound toggle current setting of Speech Enhancement toggle maybe which speakers/rooms, by name, are playingThe volume level would be particularly helpful - one can ask for louder or softer, or for specific volume levels, but I'm probably never going to ask for specific volume levels (even if I want to make a substantial change) without knowing what the volume level is *now*. Yes, I could look in the controller app. At that point, SVC has already lost, because if I have to open up the app, I'll just change the level there.
I’m excited to try the new Sonos Voice Control, but only if it allows me to choose music from the NAS server on my local network. I have not seen this functionality mentioned in information from Sonos, so does this mean music on my NAS won’t be supported?
Hello All,Wondering if there is a way to get the new Sonos Voice Control to work with iTunes Match? Technically, iTunes Match works by matching your physical copies of songs with songs on the Apple Music Library. On the Sonos App, I’ve linked my Apple Music (iTunes Match) subscription with their services, but because it is not legitimately “Apple Music”, I can’t get Sonos Voice Control to work properly with my Match catalogue. Anyone have any suggestions here? Would be nice to be able to send music easily from Roam to Move, but you can’t do that simply with Airplay Music, so I was hoping to be able to start up music directly on the speakers with the Sonos App.
I’d love to know your experiences with the Sonos voice control grouping commands. It’s been wildly inconsistent for me, and support is stumped. Maybe we can find a workaround together.Using many permutations of grouping commands (e.g. “Add <product name>”, “Group <product 1> and <product 2>”, “Remove <product name> from group”) some products work great, and others are inconsistent, regardless of which phrasing I use.Sometimes it silently fails (but the music goes back to normal volume when it stops listening, so I know I did wake it up), sometimes it says "I can't locate that, please check your product names in the Sonos app."For a long time I thought it was fine for one-word names but failing on with two-words, but then “Living Room” and “Dining Room” started working along with “Kitchen” and “Office.”Consistently failing:Front Room Master Bedroom Master Bathroom(Could these be reserved words? I might try renaming later and will update if anything changes.) Upda
I’ve had Sonos one speaker with Alexa for years. I ask her to play Virgin radio or even bbc radio 1 or 2 and she says “playing virgin radio from Lianne’s radio” then plays nothing. it was working the other day, any ideas.
I have numerous streams set up as URLs via the "My Radio Stations" functionality in my Sonos Arc. Included among these are Soma.FM's Groove Salad (and a number of Soma’s other streams), and a bunch of subscription-only streams from DI.FM.I can easily start these from the Sonos controllers on my Mac, iPhone, and iPad.How do I start these streams with Sonos Voice Control? I've tried a bunch of different ways of phrasing the request, and SVC doesn't seem to understand.I'm not looking for any level of interaction with these services (or the others that I use by URL) - I do NOT care about Next/Previous, Forward/Rewind, Shuffle, Repeat (none of these are available with a URL-based stream anyway) - I just want SVC to start playing the requested URL-based streams that are already saved in "My Radio Stations".(It would be nice if the "what's playing" request worked - the controller apps seem to be able to pull this from the mp3/aac stream just fine - but I'd give even that up if I could just as
It seems that I am unable to get the newly released Sonos Voice Assistance now that it has been released. I have updated all of my apps (both on the Mac and iPhone) checked for updates, which shows as up to date and I still don’t have the option available. I have power reset the entire system.I have tried using multiple mobile devices, same result.App Version: 14.8.1Build: 68329240Can I get assistance?
The title pretty much says it: the app is at 14.8.1 and the system is updated, but when I go to Settings>Services&Voice>Add a voice assistant I don’t get the SVC. Still only get Alexa and Google. Anyone else? --EA
I live in the UK and I am able to use Sonos voice assistant. I didn’t think this was going to be available in the UK until later this year. I was able to use it from beginning of June. Is this now available throughout Europe or just certain countries? Thanks
Hi there, is Sonos voice control service available in South Africa? thanksjack
I’m currently on holiday, renting a cottage on the south coast of the UK. Took one of my Roam’s plus my Move with me to use with Bluetooth and I’m super impressed to find that Sonos Voice Control works on the speakers in a basic way on both the Roam and Move speaker. It will play/pause/go forward or back a song etc. I did notice when I got here that both white mic lights were on which I didn’t expect, but obviously they are on because it will work with basic functions (speaker only functions, rather than app functions). Do any of the other voice assistants works with a portable Sonos speaker out and about? I used to use Google Assistant but hadn’t at that point, taken any of my portable speakers out and about, so don’t know if it would have worked or not. I’m guessing not.
Hello -- I have one Sonos One speaker (voice enabled), one Sonos One SL (no mic) and two Sonos Playbars (no mic). I’m trying to create various groups so I can ask my voice enabled Sonos One to play music “upstairs.” This would require grouping the Sonos One, Sonos One SL and a Playbar (as an example). Will my Sonos One group itself with my Sonos One SL and Playbar, both of which do not have mics? Thanks. Dave
Is this an issue or am I being picky? Whenever I call out a station through Hey Sonos, an image of the station is not there, just a grey box even for Sonos Radio HD station.
Bare with me here:My setup for the past few years since we got our pool is this.Sonos Second Gen Connect Amp (the white/grey one, not the new black one). This powers two outdoor speakers. I had a google mini speaker outside, that I would talk to while in the pool to change songs, change artist, etc. This has all been working until I changed to the Nest Audio.Below is my thread I have created on the google forums just for reference. I was thinking of purchasing a Sonos Roam since it is portable and waterproof. I would use this to tell Sonos what to do while I am in the pool.My question is, can I get it to function similar to the google speaker, where it does not play music, it just plays on the amp and two speakers. For example, if I am in the pool and I tell the Roam to play an artist, it will start playing on the connect amp, and not the roam. Basically just want the Roam for Sonos voice control. Can it work like this?I am considering an Alexa device just for this, but all my stuff
It seems US has already got the SVC released and seen online that France will get SVC (French?) later this year, but what about the rest of the world? Would be nice to see some kind of timeline for us who don’t want to share what we say with google or amazon.I would be happy to be able to use the same version as for the US, as English is still the main language in my household and I wouldn’t want a local language version.
Hello Sonos, I was wondering if there would be multiple voice options in the future for the Sonos voice control?
Just got Sonos Voice Control on my Beam Gen 2.(I have 5 other speakers around my home) I purposely avoided all the other voice Sonos speakers because I didn’t like the idea of Amazon or Google listening in on me, not to mention their annoying voices. But Sonos knocked it outta the park with their new Sonos Voice Control. The professional actor chosen is perfect. It is quick as can be and best of all never interrupts the mood or feel of the music. His voice truly has the class and charm of Sonos. I like how it listens a bit longer so when you say “Hey Sonos turn it down” you can wait and see if you like the volume, if not, follow up with “More” and the volume will go down more. This is a nice touch without any chime or voice interrupting the music. You can follow when Sonos Voice Control is listening if you look at the brightness level on the light near the mic. Now I have a massive music library that lives on Dropbox and is meticulously organized in Apple Music(iTunes). I play my
I've been trying for the last few days to get Sonos Voice to play radio stations but to no avail. I've tried just asking, I've tried specifying '...on sonos radio', it just says it doesn't understand, or it can't find that content. Anyone else have this issue or could offer any suggestions? For info, the specific station I really need to work is LBC (my wife listens to it all the time and until this works I can't switch from alexa) but I've tried various others too.
