Hi everyone! I’ve been trying to do something but so far I’m not sure about the best solution. The best would be to solve it via IFTTT, but I think I’ll have to install HomeAutomation at my home’s server. I am playing Spotify via Sonos at home the whole day, I love it, but I miss the short hourly news bulletin from a radio station, at least when I’m working from home. The radio station I usually listen has a podcast (also available in Spotify) where they add these bulletins, here’s their RSS: https://fapi-top.prisasd.com/podcast/playser/boletines.xml I would like that when a new episode is added to that bulletin, and if Sonos is currently playing at home, the new bulletin gets added to Play Next at Sonos, so it will play after the current song, and then continues with the Spotify playlist. Any idea of what would be the best tool to solve this? So far I haven’t run any automation yet for Sonos.
I just looked at a number of posts, some as old as 2 years ago and finding out that my New Sony Smart TV with RF remote is not compatible with my new Sonos play bar. Why haven’t you guys gotten your act together to fix this problem? It seems like the majority of new TVs are now RF and your “wireless” system is not compatible. Very sad!
Hi All, I have a Sonos Beam upstairs and ARC downstairs. I have been thinking of getting A eufy wireless doorbell and I know that you can set it up so when someone rings your doorbell your Alexa device will chime. BUT sonos products apparently don’t support this strangely and a separate Alexa device would need to be purchased, which makes no sense to me when you should really get the full works in the sonos devices. I would like to request this feature to be added to the Sonos device please @Sonos
I have an iOS shortcut that toggles my Sonos Move (starts playing music if off; stops playing music if already playing). Music is sent to the Move via Airplay over wi-fi.it works fine when testing.BUT, when used normally, the first time I run the shortcut, I get an error message that the output device cannot be reached (“Endpoint cannot be found’). If I IMMEDIATELY run the shortcut again it works fine! For some reason the Sonos is not responding to the initial request from Airplay. I thought of just pinging the device first but that is not possible from an iOS shortcut.Sonos support have no record of anyone else seeing this issue but I’m interested in the views of forum users.anyone else seen this issue? If so, do you have a solution?thanks
I bought a One Gen 2 and integrated it to my home automation system (OpenHAB), but I can’t find a way to enable the microphone (without having to connect Alexa or google) so I can use OpenHAB’s integrated voice system. Is there any way to do it?
I have created a new applet in IFTTT. In short, it is triggered by a webhook and then it plays a favourite track on my Sonos system. It works great as long as I choose 'include all rooms' and my favorite starts playing. But when I choose 'this room only' nothing happens. I would like to play the song on an Ikea Symfonisk, but the result is same when I try on my Sonos One or my beam
Afternoon all. Have a reasonable size Sonos system built over time covering inside & garden on S2 now. All working a treat. Over time I’ve acquired more of these Philips Hue lights than I realised and they are rather good on the whole. I have about 15 of them in the garden I think.I’ve a need (later year - birthday event) to get the two working together.I have the Philips Hue Entertainment App installed on Win 10 PC and it talks to all the lights very happily and I can create multiple entertainment zones. But I do not know how to use Sonos as the source to get the Hue lights to do their thing i.e flash and change colour in time to the music. Probably sounds naff but looking to play the opening quiet 3 mins of The Prague Philharmonics version of Blue Danube outside with a gentle light performance before the remaining 7 mins to a professional firework display. Hey you not 60 every day and I met her in Vienna during this performance :-)I guess I could buy and configure a Port and use
As mentioned in the title, when Sonos is playing a radio station (TuneIn) my application receives no imageUrl in the metadataStatus from the Sonos cloud. In the Sonos app (iOS, Windows) an Image with the logo of the radio station is shown. This is an example of the received metadataStatus object:{"container":{"name":"Radio Paradise","type":"station","id":{"serviceId":"254","objectId":"s13606","accountId":"sn_0"},"service":{"name":"TuneIn","id":"254","images":[]},"images":[],"explicit":false},"streamInfo":"Steely Dan - Midnight Cruiser"}I wonder, how do I get an image of the currently played radio station from the Sonos Control API?
Unfortunately just brought the Roam not realising that it was only S2 Compatible. I have £2k + of S1 parts so not going to change from S1. As I understand it the new products have a higher spec particularly memory so surely it can not be beyond Sonos ingenuity for those who need the s1 system to load products with the older system, it may not use all the memory etc but at least it works
I waited to buy Sonos until Google was integrated and invested on a Sonon One in December last year.It is crap.@Patrick Spence, your team have failed to deliver anything like what can be described as acceptable. Have they give up on the ghost? Was it just too difficult for them to work the api and integrate? Is there no experience on the team? Does creating “exciting” new thingys mean more to them that to fix a failed product? The kit does not talk to or remotely integrate with Google Speakers - something so very basic. That is what it is all about. What a total waste of money.
LMS offers some interesting features which you can use alongside the standard Sonos setup. Using LMS requires that you install the server software on a networked device (eg. a PC running Windows, iOS, or Linux, and even some NAS) - a popular choice is the Raspbery Pi (even including the ultra-cheap Pi Zero at 20 USD). Installing the software is a task for an average user (and is largely accomplished via a web-browser interface). Once installed, Sonos devices are seen by LMS as squeezebox players, and have full access to all the features which the server software offers. Why might you consider this as an addition to your Sonos system? Here are some pros: LMS is complementary to the native Sonos setup. You do not lose any Sonos features. LMS is multi-platform. Media control is also multi-platform (via web--browser access). Apps are also available for both Android and iOS (either free or at low cost. There is no limit for local music libraries Offers access to Spotify, Qobuz,
Morning everyone,For a few years I’ve had a Sonos device in my kitchen, that has been monitored by a script on a Raspberry Pi. If the Sonos is playing, it turns the amp on & sets the input etc.If someone turns the TV on, that overrules Sonos and sets the amp accordingly. This morning, Sonos was playing as usual - but the amp wasnt.A bit of digging and it looks like my Sonos had an update (now on S1 / 11.2.7) and the info that was used by my script (http://w.x.y.z:1400/MediaRenderer/AVTransport/Control) is no longer available.I tried https to 1443 with the same path and that fails with the same UPnP 401 error. Is there somewhere else I can pull the current status from via a url or similar? Thanks
Hi,I have a Sonos Play One and Philips Hue spots in the bathroom. I want to be able to autoplay a Sonos Favorite (Radio Stream) whenever the bathroom lights are switched on and of course, when lights are off the music stops.I can’t seem to find a way. I have a Hue Bridge, Google Assistants (Sonos speakers) around the house. Tried IFTTT and Yonomi with no luck.Anyone?
Hello friends,I’m trying to figure out an automation so that when I come home that I can have a Back to the Future 2 type greeting play through my living room speakers.I’ve Googled this idea but I can’t seem to find the answer to make it happen. I have only been able to get this to partially work using Yonomi. When I arrive at my house, I can get the greeting to play in the desired zone. However, I can’t seem to manage the volume and execution to time it just right. When I arrive at my geolocation, the Yonomi automation runs. The selected playlist then loops rather than just playing once. I’d also like to add a condition so that I have trigger a front door sensor in addition to my geolocation. My current home automation setup is a mix of HomeKit and Smartthings (web version). I have a Hoobs on the way for more Homekit integration of Kasa lights and my Sonos system. Things are pretty much in their beginning stages. I’m trying out different things but I will mostly be in an Apple ecosyst
I recently discovered this new iOS app called Soro. https://apps.apple.com/np/app/soro-for-sonos/id1550457805Soro allows you to easily control Sonos speakers with the iOS Shortcuts app. I have been able to create shortcuts/widgets for different EQ presets for Movie, Music, TV, and create a widget for playing a specific playlist on a specific Sonos speaker in my house. So far, it works great! Rather than manually changing the EQ in the Sonos app every time I switch from music to TV to movies, I just swipe right and tap once on my iPhone and it changes the settings within seconds.
While my speakers are recognized in HomeKit, the available controls are limited. Is it possible to control the volume through HomeKit? Seems a basic functionality.
Hi Everyone, I’m considering purchasing a Ring doorbell and would like to have it “ring” through my current Sonos Setup (Play Bar, Play1, One). I see mixed reports on the success (and complexity) of integration. I don’t really fancy having a dedicated device to Chime or rely on my phone in the house So, is my simple requirement for a notification from Ring to Sonos to alert me someone at the door unrealistic? Thanks!
Hello bonjour, English : I am not sure of the possibility ton ask Siri to control my ikea-Sonos Symfonisk : I have added it in Apple HOME app, but it says : there is no control available. Same with Google assistant. (in France) Français : je voulais essayer de controle mon Symfonisk avec siri ou google mais visiblement, aucun contrôle ne semble possible même en l’ayant ajouté dans les applications Maison de Apple et Google Home. (En France)
Hi, after needing to change my region from Argentina to Spain to use Google Home (I really don’t know what's the point of changing region if I have the same supported language on SS/GH, anyways it works like magic and its awesome), i was thinking about linking Sonos with SmartThings, but the Sonos integration does no appear on the list, is this a region thing or that a cloud integration is not available? (I mean local is 100% better, but I don't have a hub / can't find one anywhere and it would be nice to have the option) Thanks
Please give us the ability to schedule when night mode should be on and off. It’s very easy to forget turning it off the day after use. I had it on a few weeks by mistake before realizing it and people were unimpressed by the sound of my Beam.
I have Sonos throughout my house but I recently added 2x HomePod minis. I mainly want to use the HomePod minis for the Siri function, rather than as actual speakers. id be interested to know how others have set up HomePod mini to work with Sonos. For example, I have one HomePod mini physically in the kitchen with a play 5 and a Sonos move also in my kitchen. Whenever I want the HomePod to play to the play 5 and move I say “hey Siri, play … in the kitchen”. However in order to prevent the HomePod mini also playing the music on its own speaker (which I don’t want it to do - as the sound quality is inferior to the play 5 and move) I have designated the HomePod mini to be in a separate room on HomeKit (I called the room “kitchen HomePod” whereas the play 5 and move are in the HomeKit room “kitchen”). If I just say “hey Siri play...” then it just plays in the HomePod mini only. It would be nice if I could set the HomePod mini to always default to play music on specific speakers. it all seems
Hi All,Does anyone know of a way to have the doorbell sound come out of sonos speakers when using a Netatmo Smart Video Doorbell? (Connected to Apple home kit.)Thanks
I don’t think what I want to do is unreasonable in 2021.I want one easy screen to turn on and off rooms and show/change what music is playing and control volume. Preferably in Homekit.I don’t want to have to open the sonos app just to turn on and off music, in a smart home trying to open and close multiple apps is just annoying and clumsy. In Apple HomeKit right now I can see my rooms except for one which has a Playbar. However if I start a group in sonos then if I click any one room in HomeKit it turns ALL the rooms off/on together.I have Alexa, hubitat, and homekit/apple in my home. There HAS to be a way but I don’t see why it should be so hard to do.
I have an activity that turns on Sonos Playbase and a Sonos One.The volume controls both, but mute only works on Playbase, which is connected via optical to the TV. Any thoughts on muting? Goal: Mute both or multiple devices from the Harmony Mute button.
I'm trying to help out a neighbor who purchased some Pyle bluetooth in ceiling speakers. He wants the ability to listen to his TV and play music (via phone app) on them. Additionally, he will add more speakers up stairs and wants to pipe the music to those as well. Does Sonos have such a device? Can multiple Sonos devices be linked together to provide music all over the house?
