It’s now late November and I am still having big delays, occasional speaker dropout and in inability to connect to my Sonos system via the app. this all went really bad after the infamous big app update.Is anybody else still having these issues? And is there any communications coming from Sonos about this? I’ve gone all in on a lot of Sonos kit around my house and the experience, when you consider the cost, is terrible. At times, it’s just not possible to play music, or change the music, to change the volume, or even stop/start it. It’s so frustrating. Seeing the marketing all over the place, which claims to be a premium system, just rubs it in.

I inherited five Sonos Play speakers from my father, who recently died. Would love to be able to use the speakers but the app won’t let me until I’ve logged in as the owner. I’ve tried factory-resetting, assuming I would then be able to take over as the owner (I don’t have the UN and PW info), but I never get the green light. Any ideas how to get them to work?

I have built a new barn and looking for recommendations for a Sonos setup. The area overall is 48’ x 48’  with 17’ Ceilings. In that 48x48 area there is a 12x 24 area under a loft for a tv/entertainment area then the other 12x24 area attached to that is an office and bathroom. I’m looking to have a entertainment area sound hooked to the tv sound with my current Sonos Ray, however when i want music I’m looking for recommendation on the larger area and looking to be loud. Also Have a 12’ x 48’ porch outdoor area i would want speakers for as well.Any help is much appreciated.

Hi, I have an Arc Ultra + Sub Mini + 2 x Ones.Yesterday my son while we was listening music, put the volume to 100% with an Alexa command.It was only some seconds, but, do you think could have damaged the speakers somehow?Thanks!

Hi there. This issue has been driving me nuts!! And is about to cause me to abandon my entire Sonos echo system and switch to Apple Homepods!! And I have yet to hear a solution from Sonos! (or from other community members on here..)The issue of NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE my recently played songs (played on Apple Music - in its own native app on my ios device) “inside” the Sonos App!  When you are out and about, in the gym, or on the bus etc.. and listen to and discover some new music on Apple Music (while listening via your headphones), and then come back home and be able to continue listening to those albums on your Sonos products. While I do appreciate the great integration of the Apple Music service with the Sonos app, this “missing feature”  has been a HUGE issue for me.  One might say, you just have to “favorite those songs”… But they have not become my favorites yet. Is the available content on all of these platforms limited in supply to Sonos?I maybe can find an episode or two of a podcast, but can’t drill down into the full season list for example. And if I play them through my browser (directly in Spotify or BBC Sounds where I can find them) I can’t push them out to my Sonos system as Spotify itself will only seemingly find Bluetooth devices and BBC sounds doesn’t offer this at all.

Dear Sonos Developers,I am begging you to add a volume control WITH DIGITS now! We have been asking forever. The volume slider should have a “+” and “-” on either end that go up by ONE digit. This is my second time asking for this, many others have the same issue/complaints, and years have gone by. If third-party controllers are being created to address this, someone at Sonos must realize this is a desperately needed feature. Third-party apps with these features means your UI needs to change. Volume control using sliders is terrible. It jumps too loud or too quite and barely works on the iPhone. Sonos has neglected this easy-to-implement feature for far too long. Who will speak to the CEO about this? Please, we are begging you to implement this. What is the point of making feature requests if they are ignored. We are your customers. Please do something now!

HelloI've been desperately holding on to the old app after the car crash that is the new app which ended up on our ipad.One of the features missing in the new app which I suppose is quite niche but means a lot to us is the "add to Spotify playlist" option on the track now playing. When listening to new (to us) music we like to add tracks to our own lists as we go, but to Spotify playlists not sonos ones because we want to be able to use those lists on the train etc.  It's missing from the new app, how do we request it? Ta

Connecting Ray to a Toshiba tv

Dear Sonos hive-mind Currently have:Single Play:1 Gen1 (I got one of two in the divorce 🙄) Bluetooth enabled turntable plugged into a mini hifi and wired speakers. But also used with separate BT speakers. Bluetooth headphones (Sony WH-1000MX3)Want to be able to play the following in multiple rooms:vinyl CDs and tapes - currently use stereo streamed music (Bandcamp, Spotify) streamed music from iTunes library on iPhone and/or iMac Need to be able to play separate sources at the same time (small person uses Play:1 at bedtime to aid sleep)Don’t care about TV input. Question 1: Can I plug multiple analog sources into a Sonos system?Question 2: If not should I still get a Sonos Amp?Question 3: If not should I get a Play:5 Gen1 for the turntable - if so can I still listen to vinyl on other speakers in other rooms? What would you recommend?Moderator edit: edited at request of author

I have a MacbookAir on my network upon which is a folder of 4692 songs.  I have added it to my music library, but when shuffled, only 1907 songs appear in the queue.  No amount of tweaking seems to change this situation. I just want all the songs to play in random order.  Is there some other way to achieve this?

I need some technical help here please. I am currently running an Arc, Sub 3 and an Amp with two wired ceiling speakers as one room. I am upgrading to an Arc Ultra and Sub 4 and want to connect them to the current amp that has two wired ceiling speakers to run as one room, as before.I have removed the original Arc and Sub 3, factory reset them and moved them to another TV. They connected, renamed and working fine, so they are out of play.I have set up and connected the Arc Ultra to the TV and have it up and running. I was able to connect the Sub 4 to wired speaker amp, which is named Great Room.  When I originally connected the Ultra, it asked me where to connect and gave my Great Room amp as a location, which I selected. When Ultra connected it created a new room called Great Room 2. Now I have two separate rooms. Great Room, which is the wired speakers and the Sub 4 and Great Room 2, which is the Ultra. I want the Ultra, Sub 4 and wired speakers on the amp to be one room when I turn

Hi EveryoneI cant get the ARC Ultra to show ATMOS 7.1 it will only show ATMOS 5.1I was so looking forward to the 9.1.4 setup showing the 7.1 on the App?I am playing on a TV with eARCH and currently using the PLEX player.(All my 4K BluRay ATMOS disc is ripped with all content to mkv)My Surround receiver shows it correctly. My questions:Is there a difference in quality between the Atmos 7.1 vs Dolby Digital Plus 7.1 playback? Is this the HDMI problem? do I need to invest in a Switch like the FeinTech VAX04101A or the HDFury Arcana to get ATMOS Recognized correctly? Would a Shield Pro fix this problem? Has ANYONE gotten a ATMOS 7.1 to show up on the Sonos Ultra App? Today my Sonos desktop app stopped working correctly on my Macbook Pro laptop.  The desktop app boots up and for a fraction of a second all looks normal, i.e., I see all of the various parts of my Sonos system show up and the music menu on the right etc.  Then all of a sudden that goes away and the app displays a message “Searching for your Sonos System...” This resolves to “Sonos found on this network.  Update your system.  All your settings and services will be saved.”  There are two buttons: “Update” and “More Options...”  I click on Update and I get a pop up window that says “No update required. Your Sonos system is up to date.”  One of the choices under More Options is to reset the app.  If I choose that option, the app closes and nothing happens.  When I re-open the app, it asks if I am connecting to an existing system.  I click the “Connect to existing system” button and it tells me that the connection is successful.  I click the “Done” button and the app goes back to the blank

Hoping someone here can help. My system consists of two Play:1s and an Era 100 (each in a different room) and I have a Synology DS218j NAS that stores my music library.For some reason I can no longer play anything from my music library on the Era 100. When I try I get the error “cannot play [track title] access to [nas name\shared folder) is denied”The tracks play fine on my other two speakers so I can’t see that there is any issue with sharing, permissions, firewalls or SMB settings.I’ve reviewed the activity log in Synology and I can see the Play:1’s accessing the NAS via SMB3. The Era 100 does not appear to be even trying to access the NAS as there are no entries in the activity log.I’ve rebooted everything, reset and re-added the Era 100, edited the Unix settings, ticked the NTLMv1 box. I’ve set up a new user account within the NAS specifically for Sonos. Nothing works and now I’m at my wits end.Can anyone offer any tips/solutions? Thanks in advance.  

Hi,I am having an argument with my partner about the position of the second Era 300 I just ordered.Here is a picture of our living room : As you can see, we have a first sonos Era 300 on a furniture on the right. We cannot put them behind the couch. I am intending to put the second Era 300 on the left, attached to the wall thanks to the Sonos wall mount system.I have now a conversation with my partner who would like the Era 300 to be put at the top of the wall (see the red cross behind) where as I think that it should be at the same position than the first Era 300 but on the other wall (see the yellow cross behind):What do you thing about out respective position ? Do you think the Trueplay calibration can help compensating the fact that each speaker is not in front of the other ?Thanks for your time ! 

I have two MOVE speakers that I cannot pair... I have tried many times and they do not pair correctly. The Left one gets connected and disconnected continuously. Any help? Thanks a lot 

Hello all,I have a new ProJect T1 that I have configured to Line-In mode connected to the left speaker of a pair of Play5’s Gen2.  I have the Sonos Line-In > Source Level setting maxed out to Level 10.I then streamed a song and measured the average decibels for the entire song.  Next, while leaving the volume at the same setting, I played the same song with my turntable with the Source Level described above.The average and max decibels are lower with the turntable than when streaming (see image below).I feel that the built-in pre-amp of the ProJect is not quite sufficient to bump the volume up to where it should be.  I’d like to not have to adjust the volume differently when streaming vs using the turntable.  Is there anything I’m missing or do you have any suggestions?Thanks! 

Can you de-select songs or artists from these playlists?

My Sub crackles loudly when watching parts of shows that have explosions/gunfight scenes. I have unplugged and reset it. Have reintroduced it to my sound bar. Still get this loud crackle or feedback when scene in show is an action scene.
