Just set up a Playbase with my Samsung Smart T.V. It sounds awesome but when I use the T.V. remote to increase/decrease volume I get an annoying message saying "Your T.V. is set to use external speakers. Adjust the volume on the connected speakers directly." There is a topic on the Sonos FAQ section of the support page but this leads me nowhere. Any ideas out there please?

I have a large Sonos network and want to Permanently Group the Master Bedroom (1 - Sonos 5) and Master Bathroom (2 - Sonos 1) so that they always play the same all of the time. I know I can Group them together. However, when I group the whole house (15 speakers) and later ungroup the whole house, it requires that I go through a bunch of extra steps just to recombine those two rooms. I just want to make sure they stay together all of the time - (Why is this so hard?)

I have An existing Amp and speakers (2X100watts, 12x40watts). I am considering using one of the Sonos Connect audio output to connect the old amp with some of the speakers(E.g the 2X100watts & 5X40watts) and connect the remaining 5x40watts speakers in parallel to the second Sonos connect output. Will this work? Please advise! Thanks.

Hi everyone, I have a SONOS PLAY:1 with some issues playing. We only ever use the radio on it and have it plugged in at the wall and it normally works every morning when I press the play button - straight to the radio show we always listen to. But over the last few days when I press the 'play' button on top of the speaker it doesn't work and a red light flashes instead. Any help would be much appreciated!! Best, C

Does the Sub need any maintenance in terms of ridding it of accumulated dust where visible? I have mine under a cloth cover that is effective but over the years, dust penetrates. I am a little reluctant to use a brush because I don't know how robust/delicate the two driver cones and surrounds are, hence the question.

Hi, I have various Sonos speakers including Play 1's, Play 3's, Sub and Play Bar (I do not have any Play 5's, Connect or Connect Amp). Will I be able to connect an Amazon Echo or Echo Dot to my existing set up when this functionality goes live, or do I need to purchase new speakers when/if Sonos release speakers with microphones built in? I just saw an "Update" symbol in my controller which was running 7.4.1. This version fixed a DD5.1 drop out issue. So I ran the new upgrade and now I see the controller version has changed back to 7.4. Does this mean I'm going to have DD5.1 issues again and have to run only PCM?

Hello all, I have a home Sonos environment with multiple Play 1s, a Play 3 and a connect. I'm looking to reduce radio frequency emissions in my home and would like to know if I connect all of my speakers via Ethernet cables through a switch to the router if I can get all of them to communicate via Ethernet ONLY. I understand I will still need the router to broadcast Wifi so I can use my phone to control the speakers. I have already hard wired one of the speakers and verified it is communicating via Ethernet- I even submitted a diagnostic and verified it is working through the Ethernet port... however I have a RF/EMF meter and also verified that it is still emitting the exact same wireless transmissions as when it was only on Wifi- so hooking it up via cable does not disable wifi or stop the speaker from trying to communicate over Wifi. Can anyone help me figure out how to completely disable wifi? Is it possible? I get that was not the gameplan for typical Sonos setups but re

I got my 2 Play1's and they're awesome .   I read some of the threads on what stand to get and it seemed that the Omnimount Gemini 1 was one way to go ... Well , I got them ...and they're NOT the way to go .... they definitely work but the things are so flimsy that it would seem a mild breeze would blow them over.  In addition to that, there is no way to hide the cables so I'm thinking of just trashing these things and starting over.   Has anyone found a stand that they are really happy with? ?

Are Sanus and Flexson the two best options for speaker stands? I'd only need one (white) to use in a side room on the side of a couch to stream music. Thoughts? Thanks everyone in advance!

After the latest Android update on my Galaxy S7 (Nougat), the ability to access volume directly from the notification area is no longer available. I've attached screenshots showing what the notification area looked like before and after the update. Note that in the old screenshot, the volume icon is in the notification area. From there it's a quick click to adjust the volume. After the update, the volume icon is no longer there. You have to click to load up the full app, which takes a couple seconds, and then access the volume. It may not seem like a big deal but when one song is much louder than the last one, the sooner you can adjust the volume, the better. I do have the "Allow Volume Control on Home Screen" option checked but that isn't directly relevant and doesn't help. Is there any way to get the volume icon back in the notification area? Is there a way to schedule Sonos to turn on at a specified time each morning and turn off at a specified time each evening. I manage a small B&B and we try to have music playing around our pool area from 9am - 9pm Sonos allows me to set an alarm to turn the system on at a specified time, but does not allow me to set a time for the system to turn off. If this is not something that Sonos is capable of, please make it a priority to add to the platform. It would certainly create a valuable enhancement. Any help would be appreciated. Hi all, I have a large L-shaped living room/kitchen. in the high end of the L I have two Play5 speakers vertically set up as stereo (although I just read they'll only play stereo when horizontal, is that correct?) My main question is, in the low end of the L the sound of the speakers is very far away, and any stereo-effect is gone. (Note, the width of the L at the high end is about 4 meters, but the length is about 11 meters). I would like to get an extra Sonos speaker for my living room, but is there a way to combine yet another speaker to this setup, and which one should that be. I was thinking about a Play3, as the main concern is the sound in the high-end of the room.

Rear play 1 speakers have a clicking sound with no audio. Also, no audio from play bar or any other speakers (??)

I have my wedding this weekend and am having trouble creating a solution for if/when the Wifi connection is not strong enough or complete goes out. the wedding is outside and while I do have a Bridge, I don;t want to rely on that and need to figure out a solution to play completely without internet connection. I've seen people mention setting everything up on your home network with an additional router and then once that has been done, to unplug that router form your home connection and then into one of the Play:1's and that the router creates a local connection for things to work on. that is not working for me. Please help, thanks!

Is it possible to buy a spare power cable for the PLAY:1? I need to cut off the plug to pass the power cable through a wall and would like a replacement in case I need to revert to as purchased.

Hello, I just got my first Sonos, play 5, really enjoying it. I didn't buy the bridge and have it connected in wireless mode to my AP. I had to change the configuration to support b/g. Is there a plan to support 802.11n/ac? In order to support n or ac, I am wondering if it will be a different hardware or another firmware/software update? TIA

Hi Recently I bought two Play1's from best buy and i received in two different color boxes. I noticed one box has Title Sonos Play:1 and in black color and other box is just Play:1 and in red color . Speaker pictures are also different on each box. On one box it says Wireless hifi system and other box does't have that caption. Do you guys think that I received fake products. I have both a Project turntable and a Samsung smart tv connected into a playbar via a optical audio switch. Have to manually turn the switch, but it works well. Also have a sub paired with playbar for TV. Can I add two play 3s as both the surrounds for TV AND a stereo pair for the turntable?

I have just added a playbase to my TV today, and therefore disconnected the internal loudspeakers in the TV as required, and everything works just fine, except I can't hear any sound no more, when I want to watch a film on my blu-ray. Can I some how get the sound out through the Sonos Playbase, or must I turn the internal loudspeakers back on, each time I want to watch a film on my Blu-ray??? Can anyone help me with this/give me an answer? Thank You In Advance.

Hello! We have purchased many Sonos products while living in the EU. We are moving back to the US soon, can we buy replacement cords for the units that have detachable cords? can we just use a plug adaptor for the rest? We have Play:5's, the small ones, the playbar, the bridge... Would be great if we can confirm we can use it all in the US. We love our Sonos! Thank you!

ok, not really. But no company has eternal life. Sonos doesn't have it neither. So, let's use our imagination and imagine that Sonos goes bankrupt (doesn't matter if it is likely or not). [b]Q[/b]: What will happen to our speakers? I presume we won't see any software updates coming (assuming Sonos won't open source it). But what else will happen? [u]Background[/u]: reason I'm asking is that I strongly dislike the risk of being reliant on a company to have my speakers to work and I'm not sure whether this is the case with Sonos. I don't want to buy a "Revolv smart home hub" when I could have bought a pair of speakers that could last decades, barring technical failures. What's your take on whether Sonos speakers need Sonos-the-company to exist or not? Gijs p.s. I realise that if the company disappears and new services emerge afterwards that they probably won't be supported either
