Hi sonos. Ever since the last update to 7.4, Dolby 5.1 isn't supported. Works fine in stereo, but Netflix programs often default to 5.1, which means I have to power cycle my Sony android tv to stop the whole system being locked into silence. I've ran a diagnostic, 7791026. Is there a new update out yet or can you send the beta update please?

My apologies if this thread is already posted somewhere, I searched but did not find what I need. I use Sonos Connect and Sonos 5 speakers, Sonos 1's and I leverage the Dezzer music service which is all about uncompressed music. I found this setting in Advanced configuration on my sonos desktop app and was wondering if anyone could give me insights on this setting, what works best and if it would benfit a music service such as Deezer?

Il love my sonos playbar and my LG.OLED tv ( I submitted my audio diagnostics 7784318). They are connected via optical cable and work spectacularly. However, I get 1-2 seconds of audio dropout every 5 minutes or so. I can live with it, but annoying. Is there a fix?

Hi all, I'm new so go gentle! I was given a play:3 as a present for xmas. Loved the sound so much today I bought a sub and another play:3 both arrive tomorrow. My plan is to use it for mostly music but I would love to be able to use the set up through my Sony Bravia tv. Is there anyway I can connect it or am I going to be disappointed? I've read people saying that only a 5 has the input etc so I'm fully aware. I just hoped I could use it for watching tv also. Thanks in advance! Samzie

Hi all, I'm quite new to the audio world and I'm looking for some advice. I have the Sonos Connect Amp with a pair of Bose 151SE outdoor speakers. I've been trying to research an outdoor subwoofer to connect up to the system but I'm having trouble finding one that would work well with the Bose and/or be supported by the Amp. Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm not sure about the power requires and overloading. I know from the specs that the Connect Amp has 55watts per channel. Does this include the RCA sub output? Hello! I'm looking for some advice on some Bose 191 ceiling speakers that I inherited after moving into a new house. I believe these speakers are all 8ohms. Here is my dilemma that I've tried to search through this community but I can't find the right answer with my setup. I have 3 ceiling speakers downstairs (2 in living room and 1 in dining room but all three are fairly close to each other in the same level). I also have 3 ceiling speakers upstairs (2 in the master bedroom and 1 in the master bathroom...again pretty close to I don't need these two areas separated). My first thought (and was my preferred choice) was to create 2 zones with 2 Connect Amps....one zone downstairs with 3 Bose speakers and one zone upstairs with the other 3 speakers. Reading online, it looks like that sound wouldn't be great with this setup but I could be wrong. After reading that 3 speakers may not work well, is my other option to create 4 zones with 4 Connect Amps (could be pricey here). That w

Hi guys, I've been following Sonos for a while, and ever since I experienced a Sonos setup in a vacation home 2 years ago, I always wanted to have my own setup. Since I'm currently still living at home with my parents, I don't actually have any of them installed (since they don't want me to thinker with too many tech stuff :P ), but I'm planning to start building my own house next year. We're already in the floorpan drawing phase. In this stage I want to start planning outlets and network cabling etc already, so I can be prepared for all this stuff. Enough with the talk around, my first question is: Based on my floorpan, what do you recommend me to get for the entire open space (being kitchen, living room and TV corner). I was planning for the TV corner to be equipped with a PlayBar later on (or playbase, depending on how we actually plan the cabling etc there). I just purchased a 5.1 setup and a play 5 (still waiting for delivery). While waiting, I've been reading more forums and started ro see a lot of complaints about the lack of support for newer codecs like DD+ and Dolby Atmos etc. How much am I limiting myself by going with Sonos? I've always loved the quality of it when I've heard Sonos speakers but I'm wondering if 2k+ investment is worth the limited capability. I read that the Bose soundtouch line has similar quality but with an HDMI input, does anyone have any experience with both and recommend that instead? I would like to know before the return period. For music I mainly rely on Spotify so both would work for me. Any input would be great! Thanks.

Can I set a static IP address on my Sonos components ?

Can SONOS systems play directly from a Mac iTunes without having to use the SONOS apps and update the SONOS music library via this app? The systems are connected to the same WIFi. If not, why not?

So here's the deal. I have 2 PLAY:5 (Gen 2) and have set it up in my living room in vertical orientation for listening to music, and have also connected the TV to one of the speaker using LINE-IN. The music listening is great, the TV part could do with some improvements, as all I am getting is STEREO sound. So, I will get a PLAYBASE, A SUB and 2 PLAY:1 to create the 5.1 surround system, and that will be my primary means of listening to TV. However, I also love my PLAY 5 for music, and would like to use the SUB to double up as part of the music experience. So what I would like to do is this: MUSIC Configuration: PLAY 5 + PLAY 5 + SUB TV: PLAYBASE + SUB + PLAY 1 + PLAY 1 Can I seamlessly setup the system so that the SUB automatically switches between the above configurations? Good evening, I am looking at buying a new tv stand and the one I am looking at has a rectangle compartment that is the perfect size for the playbar, aesthetically I think that this would look awesome, but I just want to know if it would affect the sound at all? I am not sure if it matters but I am also running a sub and 2 play 1's all connected to the sound bar. After previously posting about a streaming solution to enable Amazon Alexa voice control for my Sonos speakers I've discovered a much simpler solution that works. It requires a Mac, an Echo and an App! It literally takes two minutes to setup and you can play any Amazon Echo compatible music source to your Sonos speakers using your voice. Hope this helps others wanting to control their Sonos speakers with their Amazon Echo :)

I have a Denon receiver, 2 front speakers, a center speaker as well as the rear speakers and sub woofer. I'm trying to get away from having to run speaker wire to the receiver, as well as making it easier to connect with out the receiver. I don't have a dedicated Home Theatre room, just a living room. Is Sonos a good choice for home theatre? Thanks.

I'm building a new home theater in my basement with my existing playbar. Does anyone have experience putting It in a cabinet? How has it affected channel separation?

I bought a BenQ projector (http://www.amazon.com/BenQ-W1070-Theater-Projector-Silver/dp/B00A2T6X0K) and now need a sound system. The room is rectangular, ~ 18-feet by 12-feet. Directv and blu-ray at one end; projector nearly at the other, throwing the picture onto third wall. I'd like the sound to emanate from beneath the picture but i don't want to rip apart the ceilings/walls to hide wires. so wireless is appealing. Is the playbar right for this situation? can it work with a projector? can it work with a projector and DirecTV and a blu ray player? Do i also need a receiver? any advice much appreciated. :)
