How could I use my Sonos Play1 speakers for my Sony HD TV output? My DirecTV box is connected directly to the same router as the Sonos bridge, but not sure how to make the connection thru the router or do I need another direct cable between the DirecTV box or TV and Sonos Bridge? My Sony TV has built-in WiFi also thru the same router could that be utilized somehow? I currently use its optical audio output to an external speaker, is that a possibility? Stumped

We bought the Samsung 55" UHD curved LED Smart TV on Amazon Prime Day July 12, 2016 but its smart remote won't control my Playbar's sound. I'm using the Optical jack on the TV and can hear good sound from the Playbar, but can't control the volume. I used the Sonos Settings --> Remote Control Setup to no avail... The remote seems to use IR. Any ideas would be appreciated since both are 2016 models.

I have just added the Sonos Playbar to my samsung smart TV and have discovered the lack of DTS functionality through reading this forum. I find it disappointing that the best we can get is a stereo effect through the playbar?  My originial search was based on identifying a way of using my existing Onkyo nr509 AV Amp with the playbar however that appears to be a no go option as well. The concept of buying and adding the playbar as a step change to the surround sound system I had has left me feeling I have done the wrong thing?  Slightly cheated in a sense too, I hear what Sonos are saying that the majority of content is streamed and agree we use netflix however I also enjoy having a collection of Bluray discs and feel Sonos should fulfil both requirements.  If anyone can give us an  idea as to when this may be re-considered as it looks like Sonos have closed the subject down from reading through the forums.  Do I revert to my old system and return the Playb

I've just won a Connect (ZP90) on eBay and want to use it to add Sonos to my bathoom (6'5" x 5'9" , 1.96m x 1.75m). I don't have much experience with audio tech so just looking for some advice on what to buy. I'm looking for fairly decent sound quality, though I'm not an audiophile, and good volume but it's only a small room. Amp: Am I right in thinking I need to buy an amp to power the speakers? If so, does price matter or would something like this be fine: http://amzn.to/2kJENgs (I'm planning on putting it all in the loft above the bathroom) Speakers: I'd be willing to go up to £100 or so but not sure if I need to spend that much, does stereo really matter for a bathroom or could I just get one speaker? I'm trying to work out if I have a fault or not. Play tunein radio fine but when I select 2 different stations on 2 different devices, my new sonos connect stops playing unless I group the devices and play the same station. Is this a limitation or a problem?

New to Sonos and I love it. I have a sound bar and sub set up with two play1s as surrounds. I also have a sonos connect set up to a benchmark DAC1 to Meridian 556 and a pair of Boston Acoustic T1030 flood speaker. I have a turntable connected to the Sonos connect as well. So far I love the sound so much from the Sonos I am thinking about selling my T1030 speakers! Should I be looking at getting a pair of Play5s for the music? If so should I sell the connect and connect the turntable to the Play5s? Or will the experience I am getting with the 5.1 sound be just as good? Should I be looking at replacing the T1030 speakers with something to get a better listening experience? I would be will to spend about the cost of two new play5s if I sell my current speakers. But I was also thinking of getting a Rega turntable with the money too. Thank for the advice. I never thought I would be considering getting rid of my traditional Hi-Fi system.

I use the Sonos application on Windows 10 and on Android devices. When I look at the list of my "Imported Playlists" i See a large number (about 34) of playlists with the name "Internal error - Invalid Atom". It looks like they are old "queues" that I created at various times. Why were they created and how do I get rid of them?

Hi I purchased a play 5 as a present to myself over the Christmas which I'm loving. So much so I have it in my head to buy a second to set up a stereo pair. But I'm weary as the only place I can leave them is at a height over the presses in the kitchen. My existing one is in the same place but on the other side of the same wall (see pic) but in the horizontal position and I also have it tilted down. My main worry is that the natural position of the play 5 is pointing up when vertical as is the horizontal but I feel I won't get as much of a tilt out of them when they are in the vertical position i.e they will be still pointing up. Do I have to put them in the vertical position or can I leave them horizontal as a stereo pair? And if I do put them vertical do u think I'm wasting my money putting them in that position? I know the easy solution is to find somewhere lower but there really is no where else I can leave them. All advise appreciated

I have a bridge connecting to router in living room. I have a Play 5 connected in kitchen and a Connect Amp connected 20 feet away in back of house. I want to add another Connect Amp in garage. It will be approximately 40 feet away from Connect Amp in back of house. Will the mesh connect them all? Has anyone had success using a Sonos system with multiple components in a large, corporate-type network? I work in an office of about 100 people with a wired & wifi network throughout the building. I do consultations in 3 different rooms during the day and would like to have a Play:1 unit in each room to stream music or radio while clients are waiting for me. Ideally I would like to do this in Party Mode, so that each Play:1 unit is playing the same content in a different room, then when I come to the room I can "pause" that Play:1, and "unpause" when I leave so it resumes playing. For my setup I would like to wire a Boost to an ethernet port, and have the Play:1 systems stream wirelessly through the hard-wired Boost (they are close enough that the wireless will be strong). My question is: how should the corporate network be configured to allow the Sonos system to stream Spotify, Pandora, etc? The network is highly restricted to prevent everyone watching YouTube, stre

Is there a sonos app for a panasonic smart tv so I can use the tv & its remote as my controller?

I'm trying to get 5.1 Surround from my Panasonic TX-P50VT30 to the Playbar via SPDIF (using a optical adapter). So far I only see "Stereo" in the Playbar sound input and I have tested with my Apple TV3, HDMI from Macbook Pro and HDMI from PS3. According to the manual the SPDIF port should pass Dolby Digital Bitstream when selecting "Multi channel" on the TV menu. And as I understand the manual, the TV can pass DTS, Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby Digital Bitstream: http://www.manualslib.com/manual/649718/Panasonic-Tx-P55vt30b.html?page=89#manual I am aware that Playbar does not support DTS. So I'm just wanting a 5.1 signal very much and all I get is "Stereo" in the Sonos "About" section. Frustrating! So, is Dolby Digital Bitstream NOT 5.1 DD? Hi, I have an old electric piano which I would normally connect to a mixer, and then to an amp/speaker combination. I also have 2 Sonos 5's (in our living room). I am thinking of moving the piano to the living room. If I got a Connect, would I be able to use my piano with my Sonos 5's? What does the Connect 'expect', in terms of a signal? Many thanks.

Hello, I'm building a new home and trying to plan out a whole home audio system based around Sonos, Amazon Echo Dot, Connect Amps, and external speakers. My main goals are to 1) have access to Sonos in most rooms of house, 2) Use Echo Dot, Connect Amp and ceiling speakers to voice control music in kitchen and master bathroom, 3) have 5.1 surround sound using playbar, subwoofer, and ceiling speakers. I would like to know whether it is possible to use my existing 2 channel setup with the PRIMARE SPA 22 A/V receiver but introduce a centre channel and 2 rear surround channels all connected to the A/V receiver so that I can have the A/V receiver pushing the sound from a BluRay movie/player to the the Sonos components and the 2 Focal speakers. Hi. There are 2 types of Sonos Connect Amp boxes, see the attachment. What are the differences? In what years the each boxes were sold?

We tried to set up a Play 3 and Play 1 at our office, but when they created their own network during setup, it used the same IP address as one of our other offices and our ISP saw it as a potential security threat and kicked us offline. Is there anyway that we can set up the speakers without the temporary network or can we change the IP address?

When will Sonos make a playbar 2 with an 2 or more HDMI inputs and 1 HDMI pass through to TV. This is a much better setup than currently. Would love to see true 5.1 sound.

I just moved my home office, which meand my wifi router and bridge are in new locations. I wanted to review my Network matrix to see what it looked like after the move. When I got to x.x.x.x:1400/support/review/ , the only thinks that comes up now is a hyperlink that says network martrix (the other links are no longer there) and if i click on the link, the table does not appear.

I would be very pleased if Sonos basically took the AVR (audio visual receiver) question off the table by adding at least three HDMI inputs. They could really knock it out of the park if we could choose how to "scale" the input from HDMI to 1080p, or 2160p HDR 4k and such. I know a bit of a fantasy, but a receiver with power in does the same thing for around $700. Paradigm is coming out with a new soundbar that has HDMI and more according to CNET. Does playbar actually work with television content. I have previously tried to connect television audio to the auxiliary device on my sonos system and the buffering creates a lip sync issue. I always assumed that Sonos buffered in order to maintain adjusted synchronization between devices.
