I bought a play one thinking "oh nice I can add Alexa to my Sonos 1 and create a stereo pair"

in short, if you have an iphone, pay $2 and install 'sonosequencr' app which allows to create stereo pairs from non-identical speakers. If you dont have an iphone, try and borrow one !
