Today I started hearing a crackling noise when I start playing music on my Play 5. (Sound observed when you start playing and stops a few seconds after hitting pause or stop. Sound also observed with Apple Music, Amazon Music, and Spotify). I unplugged the device which solved the issue for less than two minutes. I also reset the EQ which only fixed the crackling for a minute or two. Have had the Play 5 since 12/15/2020. First time noticing an issue. Suggestions are appreciated!

Hi, I’m trying to get over 2 issues of the lack of AP2 on my existing system.I have the following setup:room 1 - 1 x Play:1room 2 - 1 x Play:1room 3 - 2 x Play:1 (stereo)room 4 - 1 x Connect1) i’m thinking of buying one more (I really didn’t want to have to do this!) Speaker - Sonos 1SL, adding this to the system and grouping this to all the non AP products. Will this allow me to play music from IOS devices? I believe so….but if one device is playing via AP in room 1, will this allow another person to stream via a NAS for instance in room 2?2) will adding this AP device to my system allow you to stream BBC sounds from an IOS device? - due to The BBC falling out with Tunein! thanks for any advice in advance

My beam started getting crackling sound after using it after sometime.. i removed tuning after seeing the suggestions from the forums but still the issue remains the same.. diagnostic information number is 2011239240   please advise    Regards. Rajesh

Hi, can anyone tell why it isnt possible to run dual subs with a stereo pair of Fives when it is possible with the much inferior Beam?

Ive got a Sonos Beam connected to a Sony TV. I’ve now added 2 x Sonos One SL speakers. My Beam is added to the room name ‘living room’ & i’ve also added both of the One SL speakers to the same ‘room’. However i’ve now received an email from Sonos whch is suggesting that i should have added one of the One SL speakers to a different ‘room’ in order to stereo pair them?? If this is correct how can i disconnect one of the speakers to add it to a different room without removing all surrounds. Thanks

Our main room has an Arc/One’s/Sub where we watch on an LG Nano tv through Apple TV 4K.  While watching Hulu (Killing Eve), the app shows Stereo PCM 2.0.  I just picked up a new TV for the bedroom, LG UN73,  where we have a Beam/One’s set up.  The new TV in the bedroom plays the same show in Dolby Digital 5.1.  Both TV’s are set to Auto, the main TV is set to Passthrough from ATV, and I have switched the Apple TV back and forth from allowing Atmos and forcing DD 5.1.  Right now, I can only see the difference being the Apple TV app, vs the LG app in the bedroom.  I am hoping someone can help me accomplish DD 5.1 out of the Arc.

HiI have some really annoying issues with my Sonos ARC.I’ll try to describe it as thorough as possible. I have a Samsung 2016 UE55KS8005, non e-ARC tv. audio settings on the tv is set to PCM. When playing anything from my Apple TV 4K, there is no sound at all. I also tried changing audio format on the ATV to all available formats, 5.1 and stereo but no difference. When just using the built in apps in the tv and with Apple TV disconnected there is sound coming through my Sonos ARC and it works as expected.A workaround is when playing something on the Apple TV, is to disconnect Sonos arc from hdmi and reconnecting it again, then it works, but just until what you currently is watching, when you play something else, then it’s all quiet again.Even if it works with the ATV disconnected, I still think it’s the tv not being able to process the audio in some way.Apple TV is running 14.3, but also tried 14.4 beta but same result.diagnostic 752118694.I really would like my arc to work, thanks for

My understanding is that the Move individually is mono unless you buy 2 and create a stereo pair. By mono does it mean that both channels are combined into one speaker? In other words will a mono speaker contain all the musical information that a stereo pair would have (i.e. vocals, instrumentals, etc.) in one speaker. Sorry if this question is confusing. Also, I read that the Moves Bluetooth's version/format could be a problem with Android Devices but not IOS Devices. If this is true could someone please clarify this. Also, does trueplay work when the Move is in Bluetooth mode? Thanks in advance for any and all help!

Dear All,Has anyone figured out how to add Sonos Arc to HomeKit? I believe Sonos speakers are supposed to be compatible, so I’m rather surprised that my Arc is not showing up when I’m trying to add it to HomeKit... Thank you,Daniel

Confised amd disappointed    Im 99% sure sonos under s1 woukd play 24/48 flac so what exciting things have arrived other rhan some room configuration?

Until 2 days ago I did not experience this problem. When I ask Google Assistant to play something on Spotify I first get a conformation it will play it. Followed directly by a message that it cannot play because my Spotify Premium account is not configured correctly. It’s not ‘same same’ in the Sonos app as it in in Assistant according to the error message. The thing is… it is as far as I know. On Sonos we have 4 accounts (mine, wife, kids), the last one used is mine. And on Assistant it is mine.I’ve disconnected and reconnected Assistant, Spotify on the Assistant and Spotify on Sonos. But I keep getting this message.I can still voice control the playlist I put on manually with the app. It will pause and resume the music for example.I saw an older topic also mention this, but that it just ‘fixed itself’.

Hey Community! I have had a beam and 2 bookshelf symfonsiks hooked up for surround sound in my living room and recently acquired a one sl for my kitchen in my apartment. I assumed I’d be able to balance out trueplay between all speaker but it appears the sonos software forces me to have two seperate groups. Group 1: beam and 2 bookshelf symfonsiks and then Group 2: the One SL. Is there a way to have all the speakers be apart of one group such that sound can be balance between all four speakers?

Hello, I am very new to the Sonus system, having just bought my first Sonus products, a Sonus Arc and a pair of Sonus One SL as surrounds barely a week ago. The setup which I had expected to be straight forward and easy wasn’t so, as the surrounds weren’t connected at first and took me a few tries. And when I accidentally turn off one of the power switch to one of the surrounds, that Sonus One SL speaker was “lost” and not shown in the Sonus app after I turn it back on. It is like several minutes later before it appears.  So far, other than the initial hiccups, the system is working great, at least most of the time, although I experience sound cut-off when playing movies from AppleTV. But that will be for another topic.  I am thus wondering what exactly will happen if I turn off the power to all my Sonus device at the same time? And when I turn it back on, will the system finds itself and preserve it’s settings? Or I have to find to re-setup everything? And how long does the system tak

I’m a relatively new, and relatively frustrated Beam (& rear Symfonisks) owner.  I have a Virgin Media V6 Tivo box, PS3 & Roku Express all going into my TV via HDMI, then out Via HDMI Arc to the Beam. I’m receiving Dolby Digital 5.1 & 2.0 from each device (confirmed in Sonos app). My frustration, like so many others, comes from not receiving DD from anything being broadcast in DD+ from the Roku, (Disney+/Netflix/Amazon) all the Beam receives is Stereo PCM 2.0, a vast difference in quality to DD.  After many, many hours of reading similar issues faced by others, I think the issue is with my TV, it’s a 2015 Sony KDL32w705c, while some TV’s can take in a DD+ signal and put out a DD signal, it doesn’t appear that mine can. I have tried every variety of settings.  Is there a cheaper option than a new TV? I was half contemplating a new TV, as I quite fancy something larger (40-43”). I read somewhere that TV’s produced from 2016 have a better chance of being suitable for my needs,

Got a new router, now existing Sonos won’t connect. Can’t find where to change password in Sonos

Today our Sonos stopped working and the app said a software update was required. We did the update, then the TV remote no longer worked. We re-added the remote using the process on the app. Now, the TV remote will only adjust the volume if I’m less than 6 feet away. Before the software update everything worked great. Nothing else has changed. I read some similar posts, tried unplugging the play bar, changed the batteries on the remote, cleaned the IR window. Nothing helps. Help would be appreciated.

I have seen mentions in this forum of sound dropping out on a Sonos Beam. Many comments seem quite old and I am wondering if I am missing something.I purchased a Beam this Summer. From fairly early on I experienced sound drop outs.I replaced the HDMI cable (running from ARC on Sony Bravia XBR800H - also brand new this Summer). No success.I also ended up forgetting about the Apple TV 4K and just running directly from the TV to the Beam hoping that would simplify things and help thingsNo success. It seemed to be happening less but after a few weeks it’s back to happening many times in every show we watch. As others have noted, it’s driving me nuts.I had imagined moving all my 3 other screens to Sonos but at this rate I have no confidence that it’s reliable, which is such a pity since I respect the seamless experience. If anyone in this community has more recent advice on what I can try that would be greatly appreciated.

So I am ecstatic over using a new play 5 gen 2 as my sweet little hi fi compact setup in my bedroom for playing vinyl and digital there.  sonos does a better job translating vinyl to the digital realm and back than any other sub $1000 system.  I bought and returned a few, including the Bluesound.  play 5 gen 2 a BIG step up in SQ.   But I now have a 2 month problem that Sonos is aware of and won’t fix.  my turntable has always had better than cd fidelity at source level set to level 9.  well now level 9 is with a bug and won’t work.  levels 1-8 work fine, but at a cost of lower fidelity from the digital volume reduction, making it pointless to spin records.  yes, level 10 is still operative, but only if you select 9.  selecting 10 leaves you at the last level you were on.  thus 9 is now skipped altogether.  the end result is if you toggle from 8 to 9, what is really happening is (listening) you are going from 8 to 10.  closing app and reopening verifies all this. why the big deal?  bec

Hi,My current set up is beam with 2 x SLs behind. i have the beam connected to my LG55SM8600PLA through HDMI arc. Am i thinking my system is 5.0 and why is it showimg PCM 2.0  on my sonos app? Would it be better through optical in?? or do i need to change some settings somewhere?Cheers

I’m sold on the Arc + One SL setup for my home theatre but I have an issue.    My projector is up high at the back of the room (obviously) so routing the devices at the front of the room into it is impractical.   So they’ll need to go into an HDMI matrix, 4 in, 2 out. Then one HDMI out to the projector, the other to the Arc. I don’t want to use Optical for audio due to its limitations.  Does anyone know if or how I’d be able to control volume in this setup? My display has no speakers or volume control, so I couldn’t use that in the way a TV normally would.  Would my only option be the Sonos app? That’s a bit clunky and slow for that moment you want to grab the remote and change the volume.  Does HomeKit and AirPlay compatibility mean that the playback status and volume would show on the lock screen of my iPhone whenever the Arc was playing audio? Or are there any other options? Thanks in advance

I have a smart Samsung Tv and a sonosbeam bar and speakers.  Can I connect a CD player through the tv?  If I use a Sonos Port, do I need an amp or receiver?Jeff

Hi,  begrudgingly having to replace my connect as the connect is the beginning of my mesh network & I will not be able to separate my system. Any forum members picked up a Port to replace their connect?  I am running my current Connect through an Arcam Rdac into a classic NAD 3020. Any one experienced a degradation in sound quality using the Port? The recent ‘What Hifi’ review has made this potential  purchase even more of a quandary. Didn't fancy shelling out the £279 before. The fact that this might actually be an inferior product to the connect makes me doubt it even more. i don’t want to get into a ‘bun fight’ about DACs & ‘subjectivity’ only want to hear from people who have actually upgraded please  Any input greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I just bought a Sonos Move today and it works great on Wi-Fi but when I switch to Bluetooth and try to use any of the EQ presets on Spotify the bass starts bottoming out. Anyone else have this issue or know of a solution?

I'd like to save Dash Radio stations to My Sonos stations list. Those options are greyed out. Help?
