Is it not possible to get the three pop ups OFF my app permanently?  Add Voice Assistance. NO. Try Sonos HD. NO. Tune one of my SL’s. NO.I have to clear these out every single time I open the app.  Can’t Sonos remember my choices???

Hi Sonos comm ,    I have a Sonos 2 app with various speakers and Sonos boost, so all reasonably modern.    Looking to use a pioneer DJ 200 mixing deck , it would appear I could plug this into a Sonos Connect gen 2 (not 1 ) to incorporate my existing Sonos speakers ?  Want to try and keep the cost down as I know there is now the port etc , just looking at a short cut with compatible Sonos products as I can buy the connect fairly cheap (£200) off eBay ? Just checking b4 i buy the connect gen 2 , would seem fairly straight 4wd , this is for home fun only , not professional,  thanks peeps 🙏🙏 Tom  

It’s well known in these circles that the Beam, Playbar and Playbase won’t play DTS soundtracks, and the best we can hope for in this situation is a down-mixed stereo output.  I’ve also read that Blu-ray players that convert DTS to DD on the fly are like hens teeth - the lists I’ve seen a contain a few Samsung and Oppo players only. So, how come I’m getting DD5.1 out of my Beam (reported by the app, and by my ears) from plain DTS and DTS-HD Master Audio soundtracks? My setup is: Sony UBP-M800 Mk2 UHD bluray player Sony AG9 TV Beam connected via the TV’s eARC connection Sub and Play:1 rears bonded to Beam There’s no fancy trickery or other boxes, switches, etc.  It’s simply bluray player to TV to Beam, all via HDMI. To get sound from the Beam, I had to make one change to the M800’s audio settings:  “Digital Audio Output” = PCM.  The other option (“Auto” = bitstream in most cases I believe) gives silence.  All other audio settings on the player (and there aren’t many) are at the default.

Hi,Just joined the Sonos community. My system is Arc + 2 x One SLs + Sub (Gen 3). Love the sound!For HT, I have a Sony ubp-x800m2 UltraHD player → LG 65 inch CX OLED TV (2020 model). The LG is connected to the Arc via HDMI 2 (the eArc port).My issue seems to be a common one - trying to get DTS tracks converted to multichannel PCM for the Sonos Arc.For testing, I’m using the Die Hard UltraHD blu-ray which has English DTS-HD MA.SettingsSony     Digital Audio Out: PCM (rather than bitstream)LG     eArc: ON     HDMI Audio Input: Bitstream     Digital Audio Output: Pass Through Using the above settings, I get no sound. The Sony says its output is LPCM 5.1, but the Sonos app says Silence. When I switch Digital Audio Output to Auto, I get sound, but the Sony (and Sonos) now says LPCM 2.0 / stereo PCM. I have two x Sonos One devices.  Everything was fine until songs started repeating.  Or, sometimes we skip songs.  Why?  All devices and apps are updated.  I am using the Sonos Spotify app.  If I use Spotify directly but then try to play through the Sonos, which has always been a fight, nothing happens: the song shows as playing but literally nothing else happens. 

I just set up my Sonos Beam and One SL Speakers (2) for surround sound.The Beam is connected to my Samsung HDMI Arc output. When I play Apple TV or Spotify the surround sound works fine. The surround sound does not work when watching regular cable. The sound just plays through the Beam. Any suggestions? 

Hi everyone! Hope you’re staying safe…My setup consists of a Sonos Arc connected to a HDMI port (eARC) of a Sony X900H TV (65”) and an Apple TV 4K connected to another HDMI port of the same TV, but my question is: Am I getting Dolby Atmos when I watch content on Apple TV 4K? Do I need a receiver?

I have a Sonos one sl and recently just set up a Sonos beam in the same room. But when I try to pair or bond these, it’s says I need to have 2x Sonos one’s in order to set up the surround. however I am happy with just the single Sonos one sl. Why won’t it simply allow me to bond/ connect with this one on its own. Would I need to buy another Sonos one sl simply to connect it together. 

I have 2 speakers: one SL and one. These are surround speakers with my Beam and Sub. This is my home cinema audio when listening TV. Is-it possible to have these 2 speakers in a stereo pair only when listening the music? Is-it possible to balance one of these speakers?Is-it possible to listen music only with the Sub and the 2 speakers in stereo without the Beam? I have the S2 app and there is no way to balance the left or the right speaker nor any indication that they are paired in stereo. All of my speakers and Sub are  attached to the Beam within the same room name.   

My sub disappeared from my system so I switch it off and back in and it connected right away but the sub, although connected, isn’t working. I tried switching it off and on and disconnecting then reconnecting it but still, the play bar works fine but sounds crap without the sub

After upgrading to desktop controller version 12.2.2, several of my old Sonos components are no longer visible, and can therefore not be used with the controller. They work fine with the old sonos controller version. Is this Sonos way of trying to force me to throw the older hardwre components away and buy new ones. The old ones works fine.Not even giving me a choice or a heads up when installing the new software controller. Very unethical and immoral.  Is this correct Sonos? I hope I’m wrong! I’m aware that new hardware features may not work with old software. Fine, but not supporting old hardware in new software is almost criminal. What if General Motors made their old cars stop working after a software update..?? Best,-tk

Still confused about directional hdmi cable with a soundbar. Should the arrows point from the tv’s earch hdmi port to the Sonos Arc, or from the Sonos Arc to the tv. Some people say the tv is the source for sound so the arrows should point from tv to soundbar. Others say the hdmi port on the Sonos Arc is an output so the arrows should point from the soundbar to the tv. So confused. 

Ok, so I got a new TV yesterday, an LG CX. I am coming from a B7. My understanding of earc, Sonoe ARC etc are not great. Obviously I was using compressed audio all the time with the B7 give it only has ARC and not eARC. I am now confused about what I should set my Xbox Series X audio output to - Dolby Atmos Bitstream, which does give Atmos on the Sonos ARC, but there’s the sync delay. Or select one of the uncompressed sources. When I select uncompressed 5.1 or 7.1, I get intermittent sound from the Sonos. My Nintendo Switch works fine with 5.1 Uncompressed PCM. What’s the best setting for audio on my Xbox? Is it still Bitstream Atmos (Does the ARC support uncompressed Atmos?) Otherwise everything else is working fine, after a lot of fiddling.

I have a pair of Play 1 speakers - part of a surround system.  All of the speakers in my house are connected (every room of the house) and are showing up on my app but one of my Play 1 speakers no longer has sound?  The pause and volume level buttons work on the system but no sound from the speaker.  was working fine last week?

We will be visiting someone who still has their Sonos equipment using S1. Will I be able to use my Sonos S2 app or do I need to re download S1? Thanks!

I have added Sonos Beam to my TV in the Kitchen this week and set up Alexas and I can ask Alexa questions etc etc , but when I ask for music example ‘Play BBC Radio 2’ it responds saying ‘Playing BBC Radio 2 from BBC sounds’ but nothing plays , Same request ‘Play Virgin Radio’ responds ‘Saying playing Virgin Radio from TuneIn Radio’ but nothing comes out of the speaker. -Also Amazon Music does not work, when asking ‘Play 90’s music’ response i get is ‘first enable the skill for the Sonos beam in the Alexa App and then discover devices’  this I think is the problem and what devices is it trying to discover ?   I also have the same Beam in my TV room for the last year and this works perfectly with all of the above commands  as does several Alexa Echos .  

Hi,I am building my new house and planning to get inceiling Sonos speakers (2) with Sonos arc.later buy a Sonos arc and woofer and setup a 5.1 surround sound .  the arc needs to be connected to tv hdmi and arc will connect to amp through wifi.this setup works for tv surround sound .  however if I want to listen to audio only , Spotify or Apple Music ,will the above setup works with arc powered off and music coming off the 2 ceiling speakers ?? Thanks,Ram

What is the reference distance of surround speaker? Is it in reference to the listener’s head or the Arc soundbar.

Hi,I have my Sonos 1, 5 and Move, I`m trying to connect them on my router in China, and nothing is working. I have been trying for about 3 hours, nothing is possible…I send an email to the customer support, but that will take 7 days to be answered…. That`s no help either.… Pretty furstrating.Anyone with these issues and knowing what I need to do (resetting to factory settings,… I tried -I believe- everything already).Thanks in advance,Wouter

I have a Rega RP1 turntable and a Sony CD player that I plug into an amplifier, which goes through the tape monitor loop to an equalizer and then the amp goes back out to a Sonos Connect.It dawned on me - the amplifier is physically big. With the Connect, my balance and volume (and tuner) is controlled through the Sonos app.So really all I’m doing is:Using it as a preamp (and ground) for the LP Switching back and forth between the CD and LPSo it dawned on me, do I need the amp?Could I get a basic phono pre-amp (for example) and go straight from LP to preamp to EQ to Connect?And to combine LP and CD, goLP=>Preamp=>A/B Selector Switch=>Connect  and CD=>A/B Switch=>ConnectRight?

PART 1: I have a Show 5 and Sonos One in my kitchen. I want the Show to be my Alexa device, but would like the One to be my speaker for music in the Kitchen. When playing music, I don't want to have to specify “kitchen” in my commands. I created a group called Kitchen, and added the Show and Sonos One to that group. The Sonos One is set as the speaker for this group the playback option is set to “Always.” Question… Did I set this up right? Should I turn the mic off on the Sonos One? I currently own a Sony soundbar. Each time I’m watching a film, I have to constantly turn the volume up (when characters are speaking) and down (when the action starts).Years ago, I had a 5.1 system, which allowed me adjust each separate channel, so I raised the one with the dialogue (the centre channel) and that solved the issue. So, my question is this: Does the Sonos Arc allow you to increase the volume of specific channels so I can increase dialogue?     

Hi,I have 5 Sonos products.I recently went from SonosNet to Wifi and everything has been working fine for about two weeks.Suddenly one of my speakers stopped working, a Sonos One with Microphone. I tried moving it around the apartment, and now it is the one closest to the router.The other 4 speakers works perfectly still, even farther away from router.When trying to get it to play music Sonos app says "Unable to connect to Sonos product".Sometimes I can get it playing for like a small period of time, but suddenly it stops playing.Submitted a diagnostic 2075424226.Right now no information is showing up in the app, but through the router I can see the MAC-address of the problematic Sonos One is 78:28:CA:B1:F1:C6.I did try to factory reset this single speaker, by holding the back button when powering up, blinking white and orange and setting it up through the app, works briefly but then fails to play music. Thinkin about switching back to SonosNet to see if it works, but really wanted to

I have a Sonos Beam in my living room in a group with two Gen 1 Sonos One speakers and a Sonos Sub. I have had Alexa enabled since I initially setup this system. All had been working well but suddenly, Alexa will not stop or pause playing by voice command. I can say "Alexa, play NPR" and it will respond properly. I can say "Alex Louder" and "Alex Lower" and the volume will adjust. But when I say "Alexa Stop" (which is what I've been saying since day one) or "Alexa Pause" it will simply make the command chime and keep playing. Also, the Beam is working properly but in the Sonos app, I don't specifically see the Beam listed as a speaker. I think it might simply be labeled "Living Room?" I'm not sure if I should see the Beam specifically? I tried to remove Alexa and reactivate it but I got completely confused and I'm not sure what I accomplished. I have over 20 Sonos speakers in my home. They are all compatible with the new Sonos S2 app. When I try to create an automations in HomeKit such as arriving home, It always causes the scene to fail. When I remove the audio from the scene, it works fine.I want to have my music to play to my speakers. I have selected the speakers to play and have selected the music in Apple Music and have checked it and adjusted the volume to where I want it to play. The artwork is shown when I get back to the Scene I am creating.  Can you give me suggestions on how to have this work if there is a way to make it work. If not, then please ask your technical team to consider adding this to a future update. Thank you very much.
