I have a Pixel 3XL and a new Sonos Roam (among some other Sonos products). I am unable to bluetooth pair my Pixel with the Roam. I’ve been able to pair the Roam to my wife’s Pixel 4a, and my son’s android tablet. I’ve been able to pair another speaker to my Pixel. I don’t know what the problem is. I go through the simple steps, and see Sonos Roam (SONOS 3EC8) on the list. When I attempt to pair, it goes gray for a few seconds and then back to white, like it never happened. Is there a way to solve this?
I installed a new Sonos Roam to my actual system, composed by some Ones, some Symfonisk and a Sonos Boost. After the process the Roam is not showing up in my System, but strangely if I chose the option “Change Network” I have the option to change its network together with the other speakers. My network is composed by a Salt Fiber Box (Swiss Provider) with 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz network, and the boost connected to it.
My Roam is not waking up. When i recieved it i set up my Roam and tested it. After a while i tried to start it again and it wouldnt. It just showed as not connected in the App. And nothing i have tried with the Sonos help page helps. And now it dosent appear in app either. Any suggestions?? 🤔🤔
I’m a little confused by the Roam charging. If I power it right down (ie not in sleep mode) then connect the charging cable it seems to wake up again with the white light on. Is it normal for it to turn back on when you put it on charge? Surely it would charge quicker if it stayed off?
Hi all Does anyone know how to clear the bluetooth connections from the Roam? I know I can go to the connections on my mobile phone and disconnect / forget the connection there, but what if I want to clear the list of connections without access to the phone? This could be because a friend connected to my Roam one evening but now they have gone home. Also, does anyone know how many connections the Roam can remember? I’ve tested with two phones connected at the same time, but don’t have more mobile phones to connect to test larger numbers of connections. Thanks
Left the Roam on wireless charge and has flashing orange light constantly (low battery) and won't turn on, it was not in use and had previously charged on this wireless charger no problem. UPDATE:Seems to be charging with cable now, seems like the wireless charger didn’t charge the device despite it working previously, the charger was in spec so no idea why it hasn’t charged by wireless but definitely something I need to look at as wireless charging is important. I used the same plug to charge the device by cable and no problem.
Hi my brand new Sonos roam is currently connected to my home WiFi which has a perfectly working internet connection but when using Google assistant it says it “can’t connect to the internet right now, check your router” I’ve checked the router, disconnected and reconnected to the network, turned everything off and on again. Still the same issue what do I do?
I installed a new Sonos Roam, selecting the "new system" option, since my other Sonos speakers are in a different location. My Sonos S2 app on my iPhone recognizes the Roam and I can connect it to the WLAN. At the end of the setup process, I get a message that the setup was successful and also a note that if the Roam doesn't show up immediately in "System", restart the Roam and it will appear in the "System" tab. However, restarting the Roam does nothing, it still does not appear in "System". System is grayed out in the S2 app and not clickable. I have already reset the Roam several times to factory default without any success. I always end up back in the same state. What can I do?
I’m absolutely at the end of my teather with this now. Nothing has changed on my system, both Alexa and the spotify app have no issues connecting to my system, yet the sonos app keeps failing to connect. My new roam arrived today, I opened the app and was met with “unable to connect to sonos - fix it”So I followed the instructions, this included moving a load of furniture to get to the plugs to powercycle the speakers. And then powercycling the router. It then connected, found the roam, and said it should be available in 5 minutes…..15 minutes passed, I opened the app and it guess what, “unable to connect to sonos - fix it”!I almost at that point of just returning the roam and swapping everything else out so a different set-up. How come Alexa and Spotify have no issues connecting to my speakers, yet the sonos app keeps failing!
Hi, when attempting to add a Roam via the S2 app, I continually get error 899, and “There was a problem verifying your Sonos app. Try again later” This error code is not covered in any of the support pages, does anyone know what to do?Thanks,Ian
Any one else struggling with their new Roam?Using the new wireless charger and cable and the battery has gone up 7% in 50 mins whilst the system is off.
Hello,I received the Roam sound system for 2 days and it no longer responds at all despite the on / off button pressed, the play / pause buttons pressed and not even the possibility of reinitializing. Only a white light is constantly on above the "micro" logo. Has anyone ever had this problem and was able to solve it?thank you !
I bought the new Sonos Move speaker right when it came out a few weeks ago and when I got it I set it up with my existing Sonos system but haven’t tried using it since until today. My Sonos app shows that the Move speaker is “offline” so I started troubleshooting the problem with some of the feedback I’ve seen on this forum and Sonos’ website but haven’t had any luck figuring out what is wrong with the speaker. When I took it off the charger I noticed that the light on the top is solid white and it’s like the speaker is completely frozen because it won’t do anything when you press or hold down any buttons. I have tried to factory reset the speaker using the directions found on this forum but the speaker doesn’t do anything at all (but that white light has stayed solid on the top of the speaker) Has anyone had similar issues with the Sonos Move speaker or have any feedback of what I can try next to get it working? I’ve never had an issue like this with any of my other Sonos speakers
Excited when Roam arrived but so disappointed now as bought to replace Bose Bluetooth speaker for use when out and Bluetooth setup & connection to iPhone just doesn’t work. No Bluetooth chime, no flashing blue light, nothing. Just red/orange kight on RHS, then flashing white light on left followed by flashing green. Never shows up in Bluetooth devices on iPhone and as I run legacy products and limited to sonis1 controller, it’s no use to me. Support chat line circular and no help, phone on 30minute wait. Aaarh! Looking to return it.😞
If I play a playlist in the official Spotify Android app and then cast to my Sonos Roam, whenever it automatically moves on to the next song it won’t update the song title, artist, artwork in the app or notification controls etc… It does update when you change the song manually. It also works as expected in the Sonos app itself. This is using a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge with Android 8 installed and the official Spotify Android app version 8.6.18.720.
My Move shows as offline in App, however when connected to Airplay will stream without issue until added to my network, then the Move drops out. I have reset and rejoined the Move several times without any improvement. A System Diagnostics report has been submitted. The Bluetooth button does not switch between WiFi and Bluetooth :-( Any help would be appreciated.
I am thinking of buying a Roam and wondering if I will have any problems as my phone is Android 7.Currently I have a Play:5 and two Play:1s controlled from my Android 7 phone and Windows 10 PC. The S2 app on the phone works fine. The only annoyance is the orange dot and the message “The OS on this device is no longer supported”.If I understand the S2 app limitations correctly I think I may have to add the Roam manually on the phone and/or the PC. Other than that will a Roam work with my set up?Alan
My new Roam wants to connect through a pop up in the Sonos App and I can’t find a way (having reset twice so far) to get the Roam connected to Sonos Boost and not the general home wifi. It will only show in the Sonos System Info in the About My System as WM 1 while all other products are WM 0. It will be frustrating if the Roam cannot benefit from the Boost while at home and therefore suffers the very same problems that caused me to get the Boost in the first place.
I Don't Think I Can Buy Sonos Products Anymore - The reliance on the S2 App is just not acceptable for products at this price point. To date I have a Sonos 5 Stereo Pair and a Sub working fine and being recognized by the app. I ordered a Sonos Move and and PreOrdered a Roam at the same time. As the Move arrived first, it would not be found in the S2 App - I jumped though all the troubleshooting hoops and still nothing...so I returned it in hopes that the Roam would work. Today is my birthday and the Roam arrived, same thing...completely dead in the water. There is no reason why these products cannot just connect via Bluetooth like the 1,000s of other competitor products out there. It’s mind numbing trying to wait on the S2 App to figure things out. Once it gets to the WiFi part it chokes and takes minutes to try and connect and I have done all the required troubleshooting steps. I have wasted so much time on trying to get the Move to work that I don’t think I can justify the same thi
At my office, I’ve successfully set up and stereo paired 2 Move speakers and also wirelessly set up my Gen2 Play:5 to the same wifi network (both listed as WM: 1). I have no problems playing music on either the Move speakers or just on the Play:5. When I start playing on the Move speakers or the Play:5 and then group with the other Room, the Sonos app shows the little music playing bars on both rooms. But no sound comes out of the speaker(s) I just checked to be grouped. So, if I’m playing on the Play:5 and check to group the Move speakers, all looks normal on the Sonos 2 app but no sound comes from the Move speakers. And vice versa - start with the Move speakers, group with the Play:5, get no sound from the Play:5.I don’t know if this is relevant, but I think I read in some Sonos community thread that problems grouping with Moves could be alleviated by setting up the Move speakers on the 5Ghz band and maybe selecting a different channel. This is a little out of my depth, but I don’t s
Hi there, I've been having the hardest time setting up my sonos move. I have two sonos speakers (the SL one and sonos move) and two wi-fi routers. How do I add them both to the same account, so that when I switch to one wi-fi router, it automatically connects to the sonos system connected on there? Because currently the sonos move and the sonos SL One are connected to acocunts on separate mobile devices, but I'd like for these two accounts to be able to connect to both of these speakers. Every time I try to add product / join system for the Move it keeps buffering and the options to add accounts are grayed out even though I’m already connected to the appropriate router. I'm outside of the service countries and I can't make international calls at the moment so I’d appreciate any/all help on here. Thanks!
Hi there,I bought the Sonos Move speaker primarily to use as a bluetooth speaker but I often have problems with it, especially when using Windows or Android devices. For some reason it doesnt happen as often with Apple devices.Basically the audio will cut out briefly for about half a second, and this happens at regular intervals of around 5-10 minutes. Can anyone help me with this? Is the speaker faulty or is there something that I’m not doing right? Any advice would be much appreciated. This is otherwise a great speaker. Daniel
I am setting up my new Move, it is the only Sonos device I have . My music collection is in a WD MyCloud Mirror, I am following the instructions to set up a library, using the IP address//path but the next option at the top of the page is and remains greyed out. I assume the MyCloud mirror is compatible as it is seeing the Move as a compatible device when I look in its manager.
Ok. I just moved and am in a temporary place for awhile. I only have access to two of my Sonos speakers on my system. Play 1 and Roam. I would like to use them through the Sonos App. They were originally set up to use with a Boost that I do not have with me. I have Wifi and just want to access my components that are with me over that WIFI. I am unable to get anywhere with trying to do this. Should I reset everything and start over? I want to continue using this same account and not create a new one. Any ideas?
I’ve been having problems with my Sonos Move disappearing from my Apps and really bad battery life. I have an Orbi mesh Wi-Fi system and guessed that the problem might have something to do with the way the 2 systems integrated. I was running without a wired connection so on the Wi-Fi rather than Sonosnet. I tried adding my Boost back into the system and reverted to Sonosnet and all my problems have disappeared. Much better battery life and no missing speakers. I of course rebooted everything to minimise the chance of any conflicts. Interestingly the Boost is plugged into an Orbi satellite (based on central location) and seems to work fine. I’ve added the post in the hope that it might help others.
