I have 2 roams and factory reset both but when I reconnected one the other stopped flashing green and will no longer connect or turn on but will charge what can I do ?
Trying to use Sonos Roam via Bluetooth is a nightmare. The initial connection is complicated. The speaker doesn't know if it should be in pairing mode, or turn itself off. Once connected, keeping it connected is a circus. It will work for a minute and then cut out. Sometimes pushing the play button on the speaker will wake it up. Sometime pushing play on whatever app is playing music will wake it up. Sometime pushing the power button on the speaker will wake it up. SOMETIMES the phone says it's connected to the speaker, music is playing, but no sound is coming from the speaker. Apps in use were Spotify and Pandora. Also connected to the phone was a Whoop. Unless there's any good ideas here, I'm thinking of returning it and just stick with my old Wonderboom.
Got my Roam a few weeks ago, connected to my system and played a few songs to test it out. Came back to it and it’s now missing from the app. The light is blinking orange when not charging and solid orange when charging. one of the help articles instructed me to do a factory reset which starts by unplugging and press/hold the rear button until I hear a chime. But I never hear a chime and it never turns off. I can’t get the rear button to do anything and thus can’t reconnect it. ideas? -
Hi, all, When connecting the Roam to a laptop or android phone via Bluetooth, the music makes small pauses every few seconds. I've also tried playing YouTube music on the phone and playing it via Bluetooth to the Roam and than connecting it to the Beam via WiFi, and the music still makes this small pauses. I've tried forgeting the divice on the laptop, reseting the Roam and the problem still continues. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
Hi there,I have a mid-2014 macbook pro + macOS 11.0.1 and I’m able to connect to my sonos roam via bluetooth but for some reason it won’t play anything, or more like I can’t select it as the sound output. It’s not greyed out but nothing happens when I click it. I tried using the roam with a mid-2015 macbook + same OS and it worked fine, same with my iphone and projector. My mid-2014 macbook works fine with other bluetooth devices (airpods, urbanears headphone, wonderboom speaker, JBL headphone) so I’m not sure what the issue is. I’ve tried restarting my laptop and resetting the bluetooth module, but nothing worked. It looks like it might be a mac issue more than an issue with the roam, but they both work fine with other devices so I’m super confused. Any help is highly appreciated! Thanks!
My wife and I have been trying to connect our Roam everyday since May 10th. Here are some issues we’ve experience - just wondering if anyone has experienced the same. Roam will not connect to wifi phone will not connect to the roams wifi roam will turn itself off during set up Roam will not turn back on for hours set up will complete but the roam does not appear, when doing a restart it suddenly is not connecting to anything. Roam is not making a chime during set up Roam does not make sounds while turning off or on Roam does not accept the phone tapping on the back of it. It automatically cancels once it completes. every set up sequence is different. This has been one of the most frustrating experiences dealing with this. I’m looking for a little insight before I spend hours on customer service. We don’t have a receipt for our roam either. It was a gift and the individual who gifted it does not have the receipt or the packing slip.
Just bought a roam yesterday. I’m having issues with the Wi-Fi not connecting and the device not being recognized by my phone app. I literally have to reset my router anytime I wanna use it… Also, as an aside, the power button sucks and it sucks that it’s combined with the Bluetooth pairing. Think I might return the device.
Can i use at the same time Roam and Five? Simultaneously connected with the same music? Thanks.
I recently purchased a Roam so I can play music without the Sonos app. I have an existing Play:1, which I added to the Roam’s system. Is there anyway for the Play:1 to also work when I am connected to the Roam via Bluetooth? The two speakers play fine together when I use the Sonos app over wifi. Based on this article, it seems like I am out of luck. But maybe I am wrong. https://support.sonos.com/s/article/1066?language=en_US
Hi, I purchased a Sonos Move a few weeks ago. Currently, my Sonos system consists of: Play 5 (Gen1), One SL, One, Boost, Play:1. The move was working great until about a week ago. All of the sudden it just keeps dropping out of my controller App. This happens every morning when I wake up, it is gone and at least 1 or 2 times throughout the day it just stops playing and drops off. I have to hold the power button in on the unit to reset. Once it boots up, then it is shown on the network in the app. This is super annoying. I am not sure what happened to it as we didn’t change anything. How can we fix it? We are using the S1 controller app until we update the Play 5.
Just got my Roam a couple days ago and its pretty pretty frustrating. I’m dealing with two main issues.A next song will be playing, then it just blindly jumps to the next track 10-15 seconds in maybe. It happens enough that I notice it frequently. I had one specific instance yesterday where all the songs started fluctuating playback speeds from probably 100-120%. I “think” this was remediated by holding the power button in for 5 seconds and cycling it.The first one is really the one I care about. I’ve tried Spotify and YouTube Music and both seem to be doing the same thing on me. None of the FAQs seem relevant. My network is rock solid and I’ve never had issues with any other Sonos devices.Any thoughts?
I bought the Roam the other day. After a nightmare setting it up with the app and a few hours on the live chat with customer services, it worked through the app for the first day and even paired happily with my beam, but has since been ‘offline’ on the Sonos app. It’s been off and on and I’ve restarted our WiFi router. I’ve been able to play music through it directly through Spotify on AirPlay, but no joy connecting it again to the beam via the app. This means I can’t see what the battery is doing and how much charge I have at any point. Sometimes it randomly changes its own volume to quite loud while sat in the same spot and I have to turn it down. I haven’t had any problems with my beam. Is this a faulty Sonos product? We mostly plan to use it around the house and garden. Should I return it and switch to a Sonos One, which was our other option?
I switch my roam between blue tooth on my phone and then back to the normal Sonos system. Right now it is stuck as offline. No matter how long I hold the power button on the back, it does not power off. It just sits there with the red light flashing. I unpaired it from the phone, etc, but I cannot get the darn thing to do anything. I am starting to think it is a faulty power switch? That small button on the back back the power cord is a very subtle button and I am wondering if it is faulty?I mean, not sure what the heck is going on, but right now it is essentially a brick with a flashing red light on the right side.
Hello the community, sorry for my english I have a problem with the bluetooth of my roam. I can connect but sometimes the music gets cut or works intermittently. The only solution I found was to reconnect my phone several times to the roam. But it’s annoying! Do you have a solution for the connection to be stable?thanks.
Hi - I just received my Sonos Roam and it won’t connect to my current Sonos system. I have 10 other Sonos speakers throughout the house and everything works great. But I can’t get my Roam to connect (I’ve tried everything). Please help! Thanks. Paul
OK. How long do I press the start button to start it? I press and release and nothing happens? I know the longer I press it other functions take over but…. It seems hit & miss to start the speaker? Also, I full charged it and left it for a bout a week and it’s flat? I’m just getting the red light at the other end flashing? Should that really happen? Thanks
Hey all I got the Roam delivered on Monday, and have experienced some unusual behaviour, which I’ve summarised below:Powered the Roam off (holding down the power button until the chime), put it on charge (wirelessly) and the Roam immediately turns back on.So, I powered it down while it was sitting on the charger, which seemed to do the trick, and left it to charge. When I went back to check it a few hours later, it was switched on again! So I guess my question is this… does the Roam turn on automatically when being charged wirelessly? If so is there a way to turn this feature off? Thanks
Last night we paired an Amazon firestick to the Roam via Bluetooth to watch a movie. The sound to the speaker would drop for a second or so sporadically throughout but always came back. Speaker and firestick (hooked up to a projector) were in close proximity. I tried rebooting both and it did not solve the issue. No other devices have been paired to the speakerAny ideas or fixes available? thank you for any help!
I was really looking forward to getting the Sonos Roam paired with my Windows bluetooth system but have now spent a couple of hours trying, but only get frustrated. In particular, I got the blue light and went into my Windows systems and ‘added a bluetooth device’ and it then claimed that the Roam had been “connected”.So far so good. The problem is that I can’t get it to play any music or even ‘pair’ audio from my PC.Help--please--this is very frustrating.Vince
Paired Roam with my Mac successfully. Works for a while then switches to wifi. How can I turn off wifi or stop the switching. I want to use the bluetooth pairing with my Mac.
Since adding a roam and a move, my music has been skipping and stopping. Probably IP address thing. I know that a fix is to unplug everything and then reboot everything one by one. But how do you deal with the move and the roam since they are battery powered?
Instructions for Roam reset did not work. Now what? Why reset? Though it’s paired on Windows refuses to connect despite adding/removing/adding, etc. (works ok on Android).
It´s posible config 2 Sonos Play 5, with 2 Sonos Move in the same room?
My Roam is paired with the PC’s Bluetooth and it is connected when I tuen on the PC. However, connection will drop if it is not used. I have to re-connect via PC setup everytime I want to use. Anyone has a solution? Thank You.
My roam is offline. I can’t turn it off to reebot 😔 nothing works. The light is either orange or blinking orange
