Roam: Doesn't work as a full-time bluetooth speaker on Mac

Should the Roam stay connected to my Mac via bluetooth long enough to be useful as a “permanent” output? I’d like to use the Roam as my Mac’s speaker but it constantly disconnects from bluetooth and back to wifi. Is this a Big Sur issue or Sonos? Does Roam not support this usage?

Unless there is a constant stream of music I think it goes to standby and reverts to WiFi.
It’s probably not a use case Sonos intended it for.

I don’t have a Mac, but I have noticed that my iPad drops the Bluetooth connection if ROAM goes to sleep.
