I have a Move speaker that until recently has been working fine on my network. Now, the speaker is showing a steady red LED light on its top indicator. Nothing I do appears to make that light go away, including an attempt to reset it to the factory settings. What can I do about this? The Move does not have any wired connector as far as I can tell.
I own 4x Sonos Roams. I have to set them up as stereo pairs and rename them everytime I use them. I have 2x white and 2x black and just want them to remember they belong together!
I just bought my Roam and like many here am having far more difficulty setting it up than is warranted. I have had an S1 generation system since they first came out a decade + ago. This is the first S2 product on my network. I’ve installed the S2 app and have made multiple attempts to connect the Roam but every time the app stops the process and says I have incompatible products and says I must use the S1 or setup a new system. However it never allows me to setup a new system rather I can open the S1 app or select more options. There is never an option given to complete the setup of S2 to add the Roam. I have reset the app multiple times but it never advances farther than this. I am terribly disgusted and ready to return the product for one that works.
Should the Roam stay connected to my Mac via bluetooth long enough to be useful as a “permanent” output? I’d like to use the Roam as my Mac’s speaker but it constantly disconnects from bluetooth and back to wifi. Is this a Big Sur issue or Sonos? Does Roam not support this usage?
Hi, I have recently purchased 2 Roams for stereo sound on my terrace and I am seeing some issues with one of them - it’s constantly disconnecting when the WiFi network is changed. I’ll explain my setup and I mention I tried resetting both devices to factory settings and adding all WiFi networks to the list - It looks to me like there’s an issue with that particular Roam, because the other one doesn’t experience any of these issues. Here’s my setup: I have an apartment and a terrace at the next floor, where I get to via stairs. To make WiFi work reliably everywhere, I have a router in the apartment and a powerline extender via the electric grid on the terrace - the SSID is the same for both, they are linked via OneMesh, so when signal fluctuates, the WiFi doesn’t drop on my mobile device and it’s rebalanced. When I run internet speed tests, I get 600 Mb/s in the apartment and 110 Mb/s on the terrace. I use 2 separate SSIDs, one for 2.4 GHz and one for 5 GHz, but I am always connected t
Not to be a broken record as I see other similar posts concerning the inability of people to set up their ROAM - but Ive seen some replies suggesting that the initial setup must be done on wifi. But I do not have wifi at present and want to just use it in bluetooth - but like others, I cant ever get it in bluetooth mode, and when I use the app (yes, its S2) it doesnt give any ability to connect/set up without connecting to wifi network - which I dont have.Soooo...not trying to pile on, but how is this so difficult and why would Sonos require setup on wifi (if that is indeed the case)?
I have an old play 5 1st gen which I have now put on a separate s1 systems - tick - job done. dead easy to set up.1 have a beam and two 1 sl’s in my bar which are now on the S2 systems - tick job done - dead easy to set up. I have been given a Roam for my birthday - hurrah!?? No… not hurrah. can i connect the roam? no!!! i need to change my sky router settings - I have sky-q as well. I - like most - are not proficient in the way of IT and the mere thought of twiddling with the internet settings leaves me cold... And quiet frankly - for an off the shelf consumer product you should not need to delve into the wizardry and witchcraft of the IT specialist. I did however delves into the dark arts - If i try and separate the 2.45ghz and the 5 ghz sync as requested then the rest of the tinterweb is up and down like a yo-yo. the rest of the ‘try this’ pointers I could not even fathom so left them as they were. I put it back the way it was and closed the coffin lid - never going there again. So
I’ve been using my Roam for may weeks now but every so often I find it offline, and then I can’t access it at all. If I leave it for several / many hours it might suddenly appear online. The problem seems to happen most after I put it to sleep, or power it off or leave it off the charger long enough for it to put itself to sleep. Then next time I want to use it, push the power button, LEDs come on … but it stays offline !If I leave it on the charger and as a member of a group (i.e. it never let it go to sleep) it will work for many days without hassle, but occasionally I still find it offline (but much less often). It’s very odd that the only solution to get it back online (after powering on and LEDs on) is to leave it for several / many hours … and then it will suddenly, unpredictably appear online.I would appreciate some pointers, it’s starting to annoy me !TIA
I am having trouble connecting via Bluetooth to my phoneWhen pressing and holding the power button the Roam switches itself off before the blue flashing light appearsHas anyone got any tips on how to do this I have followed the online instructions
I cannot configure and add the Sonos Move to my system, I do the configuration, it does not appear in the app I do the procedure as requested by the app when you do not see the device but nothing has disappeared into thin air and obviously not even in Bluetooth it works, I have tried to reset it several times, to create a new system only with the move, to change the Wi-Fi name and pass, nothing I can not get it to work! As soon as I bought it it worked then I had to reset the system and now I have been testing all but nothing to do for 3 months! solutions? defective product assistance? or what ?
I’ve just added a Roam to my setup (so excited to finally have a little waterproof portable, it’s exactly what I have been missing!)However, I’ve noticed it is being extremely skippy, especially when I try and use it outside (For reference, I live in apartment that is less than 2000 square foot including the balcony, so not a huge space). But it isn’t limited to outside, that’s just where it is most obvious. My internet is 690mbps download / 205mbps upload on a Linksys Velop system with three nodes so I’m fairly confident that is strong enough ….. My setup is:Beam x 2 Play:1 surrounds on TVPlay:1 in kitchen2 x Symfonisk lamps stereo pair in the bedroomMove in study or on balcony Roam in bedroom / ensuite / balcony etcOne of the Symfonisk lamps is wired to a Velop node router so all wired Sonos are WM0, and the Move and Roam are WM1.Roam and Move both cut out A LOT on the balcony in particular, with the Roam clearly worse (cut off three times in five minutes earlier today). In addition,
My roam plays for 30-60 seconds then goes silent. It shows in the app as playing and the rest of the group continues to work fine. It happens on Bluetooth and wifi and comes back to life again after a reboot (15 second press of the back button) but then goes silent again. I have spent two hours over two evenings with the online support who insisted it was a wifi issue and said they couldn’t help as I didnt have an Ethernet cable long enough to plug my router into the playbar 🤦🏻♂️ They have fobbed me off and said I need to call the helpline. They dismissed that it was a speaker fault even though the roam has the fault on Bluetooth and wifi and the rest of the system works fine. Has anyone else had the same??
I have recently purchased a Sonos Roam as my first Sonos purchase, i was impressed with the quality of the sound coming out of this little guy. However each time it runs out of battery, I have difficulties in turning it back on/waking it up even though I have put it back on charge for at least 2 hours before attempting to power it up. I have installed the latest update for the software, Had anyone experiencing the same problem? As this is now turning into a massive disappointment for the product, what good is it to have a good sound but cannot be turned on!
Finally got my Roam. Really disappointing. Charged it for four hours. Tried every adapter in my house. Finally to got 100%. Played for four minutes then turned off. Flashing red light. Left to charge again overnight. Turned on for ten minutes then turned off. App is saying 100% but won’t play. When operational, also dropped off my system every two minutes and need to be reconnected. Oh dear. Think I’ll need a replacement. And if that’s no better, refund. any thoughts? thanks!
I have a beam and 2 sonos 1’s linked together in my apartment. I bought the roam for trips and the beach etc. and just want it in my closet when I’m not using it. Problem is whenever I tell my Sonos Beam to play music on my devices it automatically turns on my roam. This is real annoying. Any thoughts or solutions to this?
The Roam is off, however battery is still draining--significantly.I just received the Roam this week and have been using it on occasion, however I’ve noticed battery drain even when it’s “off.” I fully charged the Roam, used it to 87% (via wifi), shut it off and the next day it was down to 31%. If this is the performance expectation then I’m a little disappointed, and will likely be returning it.Any suggestions? Thanks!
I’ve got L+R Sonos Moves (MOVES) and a pair of Polk Atrium 6s that are connected to a Sonos CONNECT (PATIO). When I play music, I group them all together and they sound great. However, I have to set the volume level of PATIO 33% - 50% higher than the MOVES so I can approximate balance between the four. Is there anything else I can do to achieve greater and better parity between the four?
Bought the new Sonos Roam and love it, except I don’t think it’s working correctly. Works fine when plugged in and on wifi and connects to the other speakers in my home. When unplugged and in my house it no longer connects. When I take it outside off my Wifi, it doesn’t work at all. Appreciate it wouldn’t link to my other speakers when off wifi….but it should work. it’s as if it’s a portable speaker that isn’t portable? I’m sure I’ve done something wrong with the setup but can anyone help? I remember when I set it up initially my phone kept asking for something on a pop up but I had to switch that off as it was beyond annoying and drained my phone battery as well…..
Hi, I’ve been using Sonos since 2013 with few issues but I’m having a problem with my Roam that is frustrating, unpredictable and seems to have no solution other than to wait for it to sort itself out.The Roam is visible as “offline” when it is switched off but is not visible in the S2 app when switched on. It’s clearly still connected to the network in some way as the app shows when it’s switched off (visible in the app) and it disappears when it’s switched on. It can also replay the last music that was played on it by pressing the play/pause button, and given that the current album is stored on the network it clearly still has access to the network. I have tried changing the channel, resetting the router etc. but the problem persists. I have tried on multiple devices and the same problem occurs. I am not using a mesh or range extender so this is not the issue. I’m using an ASUS RT-AC88U with no issues and strong signal throughout the house, including the rooms that I have tried the R
I currently use the S1 app. Unfortunately I have 2 Play Five’s that I have yet to upgrade but I wish to do so but not been a priority. I wish to buy the Roam and I wondered if I can just download the S2 app and set up the Roam or if I need to have already switched my whole system over to the S2?I’m going away on holiday in a couple of weeks and don’t wish to wait on getting the Roam if I can help it.
My Sonos Move would not connect to my computer via Bluetooth. It worked previously. So I deleted the instance and tried to re-add without success. I would press the join button, Sonos Move would appear in my device list, I select, then I get error, “Unable to Connect”. So I moved to my Wi-Fi, no issues. So I thought my computer’s Bluetooth dongle was bad. I went to connect to my phone and that’s when I found the problem. Sonos Move was already connected to my phone. I disconnected from my phone, pressed the join button, and my PC connected to the Sonos Move again. Even though the Sonos Move stores up to six devices, it automatically connects to the first device it discovers. I have a Bose Soundlink and it immediately announces which Bluetooth device I’m connected to. Is there a way for the Sonos Move to tell me which Bluetooth device it’s connected to? If not, is there a way to put in a features request?
My new Roam sound is perfect, but when on bluethooth from my Iphone, souds cut for 1 second every 3-4 minutes. My phone is close from the Sonos Roam. I do not have this issue on other bluetooth device. Any idea ?
When connected to my home wifi network I am able to start playing music on my Roam but Im unable to see whats playing, pause/stop or skip tracks in the app. The only control I seem to have over the speaker (in app) after music has started is adjusting the volume. Though I did notice the volume on thr Roam appears to be all the way down until adjusted the first time, then it seems to sync with the speaker.Should I be able to have more control over the speaker in app while on wifi?
Hi, I have recently purchased a Sonos Roam primarily to use while in the garden. I have set the Roam up in the kitchen (WiFi) and it is connected to a Sonos One (WiFi in the living room) ) a Sonos SL (Ethernet in the TV Room). Generally when playing in these locations the performance is fine, occasional buffering🥴. My problem starts when I attempt to move the roam into the garden, expecting it to pick up the Belkin WiFi extender. Initially it works ( it is within WiFi range (confirmed through WiFi checked on iPhone) however it then stops. I have read on various forums that this is now a common problem. What is being done to correct this “NOT SO ROAM…..ABLE DEVICE.”
Ever since adding the Roam to my sister I have been running into the bug in the linked video. I have two systems and they are both doing it - one system is airplay compatible and the other isn’t. Video: https://imgur.com/gallery/Yxhe0iS Is this a known issue? Can I report a bug somewhere?
