I believe the Sonos Arc Ultra is broken. I have owned my full setup Arc Ultra/Sub4/Era300’s for a few days now and noticed almost immediately that the dialogue or centre channel was sounding a fair bit shrilling or harsh, so I messed with settings & re did Trueplay and nothing could make it sound right so I got hold of a Dolby Atmos test tone file 7.1.4  along with a DB meter & noticed straight away that the Centre channel is at least +6db higher than the FL & FR channels, this is beyond infuriating if you have any experience with AV and it appears there is no fix either. How on earth Sonos or reviewers do not even notice this is beyond me as any Dolby mix sounds awful because of it. I would not have bought the setup knowing this. It’s still in return window but it’s a big pain sending it all back. Has anyone got a fix or workaround for this problem?

I feel that the volume steps when using the Beam 2 connected to an LG Oled TV using eARC is a bit too large when the volume is low. The volume control resolution in the app is better, but for some reason each press on the remote control for the TV adjust the volume 2 steps up/down. Has anyone else noticed the same? Any chance this could be fixed in a coming update?If number of volume steps on eARC is not possible to change, then maybe by having a non-linear volume scale (in dB) could be an option, i.e. having smaller steps in dB when volume is low and then increasing to current step size as volume goes up?

Sorry, if the suggestion already was made, but the forum search imo isn’t quite good and I didn’t get such results. So I‘m asking myself if it will be possible to add the new 3 step speech  enhancement for Arc Ultra also to other home theater devices like Beam2, Ray and Arc. That would be a great feature as long as there isn’t the option to adjust center level in tv mode like it’s supported for the rear channels. Would be nice if a mod pushes the idea forward. Or are there known limitations for the other devices that prevent them from getting the same option like Arc Ultra?

so it seems the usual issues with the app and setting up. My system - Beam Gen1, Sub Gen 1, 2 x Play:1 (plus Move and Symfonisk in other rooms) some background - recent lengthy power cut and restart caused home network issues and Sonos issues which i managed to resolve. (I ended up factory resetting all the Sonos units apparently not -recommended ) Purchase 2 x Era 100 to upgrade and move Play:1s to another room. Fresh out of the box I removed my Play:1 as a surround pair in the app then unplugged and kept them de-powered. Attempt to add Era 100s - seemed to start off ok then when adding as a surround pair only one is recognised. Tried adding to another room etc.no joy ended up following the instructions in ‘Help’ to reset the beam, initially depowered for 10s then the full setup with chime/press the rear button etc.  then the Sub dropped off the

Meine Sonos Arc Ultra ist per HDMI mit einem LG G4 verbunden und an diesem hängt eine Sky Box. Wenn ich die Sky Box ausschalte, geht der Fernseher automatisch auch aus. Was ist mit der Soundbar? Geht die auch automatisch aus? Denn die Statusleuchte leuchtet dann immer noch weiß,. Woran erkenne ich ob die soundbar wirklich aus ist?

I’m really loving my new immersive set with Arc Ultra, but I am struggling with one thing: when I have my Era 300 surrounds set to ambient mode (which I prefer over full), I feel that there is way too much bass coming from behind me. I love the idea of the surrounds adding ambience to stereo music, but I’m not sure why lower bass notes are included in this ambience. It gives me a weird echo effect of bass lines and kick drums being behind me, when I wish they just came from the sub which can fill the room on its own. I know I can turn down the surrounds, but then that throws off Atmos mixes.I’m curious if anyone else has the same issue, and if it’s something people have been able to get used to. Thank you!!!

Right now I almost regrett to have moved to a Sonos ARC Ultra + Sub + 2xERA300 setup as the center channel of the Arc Ultra overpowers the left and right channels which means that you have almost no directional stereo effect from the front.The center channel is at least 5bB louder than the left an right channels, you can notice this easiely by playing a surround sound test video which you would usually use to finetune the channel volumes when using an AVR.We need an option to change the center channel volume of the Arc Ultra to actually hear the left and right channels.Trueplaytuning does not change the current behaviour, speech enhancement makes it worse.

Chciałabym bardzo aby można było dodawać nie tylko surround w Sonos Amp ale także żeby była możliwość dodania jeszcze surround Back oraz górne głośniki do Dolby Atmos . hi there. I need a definitive answer from the Sonos community, as this will dictate whether or not I spend the money for the Sonos arc ultra and associated speakers. I possess a lot of Blu-ray discs, which some of them only have the English audio track in DTS audio. I have been getting differing answers on this, so I would like to know if The arc ultra does in fact support DTS/X audio? Thank you!

My ARC stopped working with my Sony Bravia 940D75 but works trough optical connection. Spent hours with Sonos tech and had Best Buy tech out and they said it may be mother Board in 3 yr old Bravia. Has anyone had a motherboard issue happen 

Hi all,Is there any body have similar question which I mentioned on the topic?I got one Arc Ultra in the US and 2 ERA300 bought in Japan.Before the APP updated in the recent day, the connection between ultra and ERAs are OK (still not stable and don’t know why) but I cannot figure out the issue after the update after APP version 80.16.32-.So the problem resulted from the update of APP or anything else ?Hope can know the hint then figure out this issue soon.  

I have a projector with an ARC HDMI output at the back of my theater room. I have an ARC ultra in the front of the room by the screen. I’d like to route the HDMI along the ceiling totaling maybe 35-40 feet. Is there any HDMI cable  that can handle this distance? What kind of cable? I have a 50’ HDMI from walmart that skips audio about every 30 seconds for a split second each time, When I moved the ARC ultra so I could plug in with the HDMI provided with the ARC ultra, the skipping was fixed, so I do think it’s the HDMI issue as opposed to wifi or some other problem.   

There have been requests to implement TruePlay multi-profile so far, but the reason it hasn't been realized is because the flash memory in the soundbar can only store one Trueplay profile.So here's one idea to work around this limitation: store the TruePlay profile in the cloud, either in the smartphone app or in your Sonos account, rather than in the soundbar. Then, when the user wants, we can transfer the profile we wants from the cloud to the flash memory in the soundbar, overwriting the profile stored in the soundbar.

I have a Play Bar, play 1 surround sound and gen 2 sub connected on wifi, using Apple TV and Sony TV on Dolby 5.1. Since the app incident, my sub has simply stopped any output. I can see it’s connected to the Play Bar in the system but there’s no bass, vibration, sound. I’ve spent time chatting with Sonos and sent all my diagnostics, but to no avail. Has anyone else had this issue?

Hi, my system comprises a Panasonic 55” 4k tv, Sky Q 2TB, Sonos sound system (Beam , Sub and 2 Play 1 as rear speakers), I also have a QNAP NAS that is linked to my Nvidia Shield Pro and have a major issue changing between Hdmi 1 (SkyQ) and Hdmi 3 (Nvidia Shield) as all my sound disappears and the only way I can get the sound back is to switch everything off at the wall and then turn it back on again, there must be an easier way to do this but have tried so many ‘solutions’ that I am doing my head in.Cheers 

What is the best level of sound for the rear era 100’s for surround sound?

When I watch TV, football, the announcers volume is fine but when the referee speaks, I can hardly hear them; Same with crowd noise, barely audible. Is this an Ultra malfunction or a setting?

For the past month or so my Sonos Arc has been dropping out periodically while watching television.  I believe it is rebooting itself based on the white pulsing status light.  I have tried quite a few troubleshooting steps but have not been able to solve the problem.  It is occurring approximately every 45 - 60 minutes.  Using Sonos ARC, Sonos Sub Gen3, Vizio P75 television and AppleTV 4k.  So far I have tried the following.Factory reset of soundbar Two different new HDMI calbes Plugging soundbar into different power outlet Changing CEC setting on Vizio television to ARC Only Rebooted Apple TVAny other recommendations?

I recently purchased a Sony K50S30 and a Sonos Gen2 beam.  Both were installed by a 3rd party from Best Buy.   The issue is that every time I turn the tv back on the sound is coming from the tv speakers.   I can disconnect the eARC/ARC and make the beam work that way or I can press the power button on the tv remote and do a restart or I can unplug tv and beam,  disconnect everything connected to tv, plug tv and beam back in then go to the Sonos App and select TV setup and follow those instructions and then it works.   All this just seems wrong for equipment I have only had for 2 weeks.   Any help would be greatly appreciated. 

After a very frustrating phone call with Sonos customer support, I was finally told that my new Ray is not compatible with a TCL Roku IR remote.  Was told that Sonos  engineers are working in a fix.  Normally I would return this but I am 2 days out of the 30 day return window.  Does anyone know of a work around for this problem with the Ray? TIA

Hi all, quick question. I previously had a Sonos beam and 2 ones’s for about 5 years. I have recently upgraded to an arc ultra and 2x era 300’s as surrounds.  my question is does/ has anyone had a similar experience to what I’m about to describe.  Firstly I stream music through airplay, Xbox series x and sometimes my Samsung 2024 qled tv.  I expected when I upgraded for the sound difference to be night and day, my dad has one era 300 and when I listened to it before purchasing my set up I was blown away with the way the speaker filled a room much bigger than mine with ease, I listened to the arc ultra at an electronic store and again it sounded fantastic.  I then purchased and installed my set up and heavy heartedly must say that it sounds marginally better than my previous beam and Sonos ones.  I have watched every video under the sun, tried everything I can and even spoken to Sonos support who said there was

I am remodeling my basement it is 25” x 23”. I have LG 83”” TV. Sonos Arc2 Sonos wall speakers they will be mounted on both sides of TVSonos Amp2 Era 300sGen 2 and 3 SubsI would like to add 2 8”” ceiling speakers to create Atmos sound. Is this possible?

Hi just to ask if any one has experienced issues On any set up with sub 3 gen + sun 3 gen ? I did have a main set up l8ke this and the second sun it lower volume  them the first ones , but I discovered thr second and setup in another room and work fine, I even try other subscribers but same issue, second one it's lower them the 1st one any body with this issue?

How do I disable the tv speakers on my Bravia TV so that the default is my Sonos Beam and two speakers become the default. I can switch off the tv speakers but I have to do this each time I turn on the tv and I am looking for a solution to resolve this permanently without getting the echoey sound produced from tv speakers and Sonos speakers each time I turn on the tv. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
