For the past few weeks I have started having very strange and sudden audio problems with certain content. Starting around October 4th anything on my Apple TV that was in Dolby Atmos format started sounding completely distorted. I watch most of my TV through an Apple TV 4K. My surrounds are IKEA Symfonisk. My TV settings are:Sound Out - HDMI ArcDigital Sound Out - AutoeARC - On My Apple TV settings are:Output: Receiver SpeakersAudio Format: Change Format: (was off, now it’s Dolby Digital 5.1) Changing the format on the Apple TV from off to Dolby Digital 5.1 completely got rid of all distortions and I can still enjoy the surround sound.  Today I started playing the Nintendo Switch for the first time in a few months. I would like my SONOS Beam and Roam to be paired as a group every time I turn on my TV.Currently I have to manually select and add the Roam. (How 1990’s!)Is this possible? thanks!

Have atv4k hooked up to sony 55”x950h (hdmi 1 ) and then ARC/eARC (hdmi 3) to new Sonos Arc.  Tv settings are set for audio pass through (auto) I get atmos from every streaming service except disney plus. Sonos app says multichannel PCM 5.1. The audio is noticeably softer / not as full as atmos content.  any ideas or suggestions to try. Do I need a 4k arcana? 

Hi All Wired, in my lounge I have a arc, paired with a couple of 5’s and a sub, at the other end of the house (about 17m/55ft) - with three 1’s along the path. Audio in the lounge is faultless, however every other room is troublesome, with random audio drops - often playing for hours, then dropping for a few seconds, then working again for a long period of time, or sometimes just continuing to be annoying until you give up :-) our wifi network is using channel 1 and 6, and Sonos is configured for 11. any other ideas? cheers

Thank you Ken G for your pointers.I thought I would post an update that would be helpful for anyone having the same issues & share the  fix.Problem - The wireless sub mini would not connect or stay connected to my wireless Beam 2.This is how it was resolved….I connected another Beam I have in the house (different room on a different floor) to the internet with a data cable into one of the Rukus satellite access points routers, that all link back to my main Drayfus router.This immediately changed my Sonos system status from WM1 to WM0 & created a SonosNet Channel now shown in my System / Network. This is the key to it working!That’s it. Added the sub mini to the system, connected to the Beam 2 in my cinema room & just like magic, it all worked. And I have to say, despite my frustrations, I’m pleased I persevered as it sounds amazing. Set up True Play & it really does sound like a cinema experience. Awesome.Sonos su

I have an older somos amp I want to use as surrounds. Can I use the sonos arc with the s1 app? 

5.1 System Comprising off Beam Gen 1, Sub Gen 2 and 2 x Play 1 Very Recently when playing music or listening to radio my 5.1 system is dropping out intermittently. (never happened before).When source is TV, No drop outs.All units are running on OS S2, Release 14.18, Only using Wi Fi.If i turn off the sub and surrounds and only have the Beam Active i have no drop outs.When playing music or listening to radio on other speakers such as Sonos One (gen 1) either as single unit or stereo pairs i have no drop outs.Is there any recent issues with Surround Sound Systems related to Firmware Updates been reported ?

Hi Sonos Community  I recently bought a Lg G2 and today will receive a Sonos Arc. I’m thinking to connect to LG G2 a HDMI eARC splitter with an optical output to connect a Logitech z906. Is it posible to use Sonos arc with Logitech z906 with Lg G2? I have a Nvidia Shield TV Pro connected in HDMI port 1. I use it with Kodi and Seren addon.  Where do I find a compatible HDMI eARC splitter ??many thanks for your help   

Hi. Brand new to the Forum. I’m hoping someone can help with my issue.  I have a Sonos system (Arc, Sib and Ones) I want to be able to use either with a Samsung OLED TV (current) and a Sony 4K projector (not yet connected).  I’ve looked at various matrix switchers but am uncertain about which one to buy.  One that I saw in a video needs to connect using digital optical, so I’d lose Dolby Atmos, which I don’t want to do.  There seem also to be sync issues.  Doers anyone have any suggestions? Would be very grateful.  BTW, I also have an Onkyo TX-NR676E which I haven’t used since I bought the Sonos system.  It has an ARC HDMI Output, but I can’t figure out if that could satisfactorily function as a switcher or if it would just open up further issues 

I want to remove my paired Ones from my TV room (Sub & PlayBase). When my Fives arrive I want to add them to my TV room along with the existing Sub & PlayBase for my 5.1 setup. I’m going to use the Ones in the garage (replacing my paired Play1’s. I’ll find a new home for the Play1’s. Will I be able to remove the Ones from tv room without unpairing them? Or will each Ones have to start all over as a new install on S2 app? Will I lose anything from the app once I remove power to the Ones or Play1s? I know once I have them in the garage I will have to use TruePlay to fine tune them again. I’m sure I’ll be able to get the Fives paired with the TV room Sub and PlayBase. 

Hi, I am trying to connect Arc to Vizio tv and it is just stuck. I tried different cable. Another eARC connected devices (bose 900 and older samsung soundbar)  works without problems.  

Hi,I’m looking for some help.I’ve recently just upgraded my setup to a new LG OLED55CS6LA OLED TV, my Sonos Beam is connected to HDMI 2 (the ARC port) and for the first few days worked without any issues.Starting last night - the Beam would just randomly disconnect and revert back to the TV Speaker completely randomly.  I have tired resetting both the Beam and the TV to factory settings, using a different HDMI cable but it is still dropping out randomly. Less frequently than last night but the issue is still there. It’s intermittent and difficult to replicate without watching the TV for a while.  Is there any known compatibility issues with LG TV’s? My Samsung never had any problems, I have emailed LG for support but just seems strange as it’s a brand new TV.When it dropped out last night these were the messages I got on the Sonos App below. Tonight- I’ve worked out if I reboot just the TV it fixes it. Until it happens again!!  

What happened with a bass after new update??The sub is present but it is a different bass now. Like no real sub bass was present even if I crank it up in the app. It is not only the volume issue. IT IS A SOUND QUALITY THING!!!The bass feels cheap now. I am listening to lot of music and now I can’t stand the sound.SONOS can you fix it?? Or should I sell my system?Bring back the HiFi sound!!! Bring back the sub bass!!!

I want to change out the screws that mount the beam to its mount with longer cap screws so I may unscrew them with my fingers (and my old eyes can see them, too). What size screw do I need to get to replace the originals?  Thanks.

Hello,With the recent 14.12 S2 Update there is a bug in the sub settings when using Trueplay, and I've pinpointed the problem.  I wanted to pass along this information to the company to ensure that the specifics of the issue are known.It’s likely that most people may not notice this, or bother asking Sonos about it, but this is a real difference between 14.12 and the previous versions.My current setup has an Arc, Sub(Gen1), and 2 Play1's.   Using a white noise generator to review these differences.   I'm controlling the sub settings on my iPad Pro while recording on my iPhone 12 Pro Max.   I've run Trueplay twice since the update, and get the same results both times.   Both Trueplay runs were with my iPhone as my iPad Pro does not have support yet. Once updated to 14.12, you are prompted to re-run Trueplay.  But Trueplay has a bug in this new update. Hi All,When I first purchased my Sonos system, I remember I could hear a simulated surround sound coming from my rear speakers when playing PCM Stereo on my TV.I realized a few months ago that now, when I play PCM Stereo content, my surround speakers stay completely silent. The sound only comes from the Beam and the Sub mini.When I play music or Dolby Digital 5.1 content on my Apple TV, the surrounds work perfectly.I recently read a thread on reddit and this article made me realize that this situation is not normal. I should hear a simulated surround sound for ambient audio. I’ve tried to chat with a support representative and the person I had told me, to my great surprise, that surrounds speakers only works when playing 5.1 content.Any Ideas ?Many thanks for your help ! My setup : Sony Bravia TV, Apple TV 4K, Beam Gen 1, One SL*2, Sub mini.

New to some of the newer Sonos products, and couldn’t find the answer anywhere.  I have an Arc, Sub (gen3), and Amp running two third party ceiling speakers.  My question is can I add two Ones as rear speakers and connect them all to the same TV arc source and it works with Dolby Atmos?  Arc, Sub, ceiling speakers, and rear Ones?  Thanks! 

When I go to “add surrounds” it says I need a compatible product, for some reason it is not seeing them. They used to be paired but I needed to factory reset everything. 

Hello,I have a Beam Gen 1 that connects perfectly fine with my LG OLED from 2017.I just got a Beam Gen 2 and when I connect it to the same LG OLED, I get an error message saying HDMI eArc not detected. My TV also doesn’t detect anything is plugged into the eArc port when the Beam Gen 2 is connectedHowever, when I swapped it back to the Beam Gen 1, everything works fine with the HDMI eArc (including the tv noticing something is plugged in). Do I just have a bad Beam Gen 2 or is there something else that might be going on? Thanks. jkl

SystemLG G2 TVApple 4kARC + Gen 3 Sub, x L + R ONE SLSI just updated to the lasted firmware 14.18 and when i stream Disney Plus with certified ATMOS i only get Dolby Plus 5.1. When i entaille update, it was just saying i have Dolby PCM 5.1 until i closed the app, restarted the TV and checked Digital Sound Output option on the TV was set to Auto. I changed to passthrough and there is an issue with LG where this option then only produces 7.1. So after reading this forum users recommended setting it to Auto which then enabled ATMOS before i update to 14.18. I switched back to Passthrough and it had the same effect, so i switched back to auto and rather than it being Dolby 5.1 PCM its now Dolby Plus 5.1 instead of ATMOS? eARC is enabled. I can only think its something to do with the update?

I understand that the Sonos Sub is currently having bass issue when Trueplay is enabled, can we confirm if this issue is known to be on all setups like a stereo pair of Ones/SL, Play:5s/Fives, with a Sub or just on TV setups in a 5.1 with the current sound bars and also with older units like the Playbase in a 5.1 setup?

Hey there,My beam is not visible from the android app, but it’s still working, if using the TV the audio comes from it, and if I use the Mac app or group it via the Sonos voice assistant, it connects and plays music.I have unplugged the beam both from the TV and power, but I still have the same issue. I’ve also restarted my phone and nothing.any ideas?

I had this issue before and I gave up on the product but after a few months, replugged it in and it worked fine. My sound system had been working fine for many months and I got the Sonos Sub which I loved but now randomly this issue has appeared again.Sonos beam keeps flashing a white light even though I have it connected via ethernet cable to the router. I’ve tried unplugging the router as well as the Beam. I can’t even factory reset the beam (doesn’t matter how long I hold on to the join/infinity button, it keeps flashing white). Very frustrating as I got the subs + 2x SL ones to pair and now none of them can connect to my TV.Diagnostic number: 197347082

Can I not pair a sub mini with a gen 3 sub to an Arc with a pair of One SLs?

I’ve read through all of the outdoor TV wiring setup topics and couldn’t find a solution to my current setup and what I’d like to do. I’ve got a home with a detached garage that is about 100 feet from the house.Current Setup:HouseLiving Room - Playbar with 2 surrounds (Play:1’s) and SUB Attached to the back of the house: Connect:Amp + 2 Sonance Outdoor Speakers 1 Play:1 in master bedroom.GarageSonos Connect attached to an AV receiver with Left/Center/Right speakers. The connect is “hardwired” via a mesh access point. I am adding a TV mounted inside my garage with an extra long-arm to swing out via a second interior garage door for outdoor movie nights. My garage is a 1-car garage with doors on either side to allow for a second car to be parked inside the fence line. Ideal Setup: I’d love to be able to use the Connect setup (Left/Center/Right + Receiver) in combination with the Connect:Amp setup (2 Solance speakers) to play the audio from the outdoor TV.
