Home Theater

Hello everyone, I am interested in purchasing a Beam (Gen 2). My TV has ARC support through HDMI. I utilize my laptop as my entertainment center. I am currently using a low quality Bluetooth soundbar that provides sound for my laptop. I own a PlayStation 4 and of course, I cannot connect, so I am utilizing TV speakers for that sound. I would like to have my PlayStation 4, TV and Laptop utilize the Sonos Beam (Gen 2). My laptop does have HDMI, but does not have a SPDIF port, I have no problem investing in a USB type device that will provide me one. My issue is that I do not know how to make sure I will receive audio through my laptop onto the Sonos. I am ready to purchase the speaker, but I am at a loss for establishing the laptop connection, which is used by me daily.

Hi,I’ve 2 Sonos One (one SL), one in my kitchen and the other one in my bedroom. I also have a Playbar in my living room. I have a WiFi repeaters in the middle of my appartement in order to have wifi all around the place. My problem is that the Sonos One in my kitchen is not working while used as is own. It only works when paired with another sonos device. How can I fix that ? Thanks for your time !

I, up until very recently have had virtually no issues with the arc, sub Gen 3, and dual One SL's. My television is a Samsung MU6500 curved 4K 65" TV. For the past week or 2 it just suddenly stopped working and I have been very disappointed not being able to enjoy my theater system. I have done everything to restarting speakers, reconnecting HDMI's, factory resets and resetting up speaker assignments... the only thing is, the system keeps asking for "set your Samsung TV to "arc" mode" but there is no arc mode in the settings. Never had that prompt before... never had that issue before, it was working previously to this. How do we fix this issue?

I realize this has has been addressed in another post, but the solution there didn't help, so reposting.  First some background:1. Been using Sonos since 2008. What attracted me (despite their high price) was their robustness2. In 2021, while my fellow Sonos users were complaining about Sonos' new products not being backwards compatible to their older products, I replaced all my Sonos S1 products with new S2 products (again because Sonos products are reliable, robust and always just work) Now my issue:1.  Since my upgrade on 2021, my Arc/Sub and Port have been working flawlessly fir months. However in the last few weeks, my Arc/Sub intermittently disappear from the app.  My Port *never* disappears from the app. What is specific about the Arc that isn't applicable to the Port?2.  I've tried factory resets to the Arc, reinstalling the app and going through the entire setup process and everything works fine for like 30min or an hour. Then the Arc disappears again3. My Arc is connected via

Hi everyone,I have a sonos beam and two sonos one SL which are part of the home teather in one group in the sonos app (Home Theatre: + SS + SD + beam). Also I have several amazon echo products purchased before sonos products. In Alexa I have a group called “Home Theatre” inherited from Sonos and if I ask Alexa to play a song on this group I hear the audio coming out of the sound beam and the two "Sonos One SL (SS, SD)".I would like to be able to have sonos all over the house by buying other "Sonos One SL" and removing the old amazon echo, in the bathroom for example I would put the Ikea Symfonisk.I wanted to know if buying another four "sonos one SL" and a symfonisk the Sonos system allows me to create a single group so that when I ask alexa to play a music the audio is reproduced from the Home Theater, from the 4 new Sonos One and from the new Symfonisk at the same time. Thanks everyone for the reply

Dear friends! Need advice to fix issue with Arc and Samsung Frame. Arc and TV connected via optical adapter. In TV Menu - Sonos like Home Theater system with IR control. When we turn volume up slowly by little increment, everything is ok. But when we try to turn volume up faster (by holding vol up button) Arc turns volume to max and do not respond on any controls during some seconds.Video - https://youtu.be/_zqX_NencgY

I have Sonos ARC, Amazon Fire Stick with 4K (using Tomorrow War as a test which is Atmos content), and LG 65UP8000 (2021 model with eARC). In LG audio settings, Sound Out = HDMI (ARC) Device, eARC Support is toggled on, Digital Sound Output = Pass Through (other options are Auto and PCM). In FireStick 4k Settings, i have Surround Sound set to Best Available (Plays best audio format based on your connected HDMI device and content being played. Support Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Digital, and PCM). When i play Tomorrow War, the S2 app shows the Audio Format is Stereo PCM, and i don't know why. I called Sonos support, and they basically said the issue is on the TV side. But, I enabled the audio settings to allow me to stream Atmos content. Does anyone know why I am not getting Atmos audio? or why im not even getting Dolby Digital but rather Stereo PCM?

I have a Sony XR A80J that I’m trying to connect with Sonos Arc. The HDMI cable is in place and connection is detected. But this cryptic message comes up, which I don’t understand - “Use your TV remote to turn on Audio System in Home” - what’s expected here? When I tap Test Connection, it says - “Audio System not connected”. Try again doesn’t help.

All the home theatre master players contain two radios: 2.4GHz and 5GHz. The 5GHz radio is only used to connect its satellites (which is also why the HT master can’t connect to a 5GHz WiFi). The private 5GHz connects the satellites in both modes -- Ethernet/’wired’/SonosNet or WiFi/’wireless’ -- unless both the master and the satellites are wired.  Hi, I have a question about connecting my Sonos Speakers. Here you get an overview which Sonos devices I own:Living Room (Surround): Sonos Arc, Sub Gen. 3, 2x Symfonisk Lamps Gen. 2 Bedroom (Stereo): 2x Symfonisk Lamps Gen. 2 Kitchen: Sonos One Gen. 2 Bathroom: Sonos One Gen. 2 Office: Sonos One Gen. 2 Hallway: Sonos One Gen. 2 All devices are capable of 5GHz Wifi, except the Arc as stated by @ratty, because of it’s master role.I also have a well operating Ubiquiti Unifi network here at home with 5 Access Points and managed switches:UDM-Pro USW-Enterprise-24-PoE USW-Flex-Mini 5x U6-ProAt the moment I have two different SSIDs for the same ne

Hi I have a Sonos beam, 2 plays and a sub in my room and just recently one of the plays is out of sync with the beam. I have reset the whole system which seemed to do the trick but it’s gone out of sync again, any suggestions please? Thank you

Hey guys! I just bought some products of Sonos. But the only question I have is how the system turn off once we stop using them. It’s automatically? Or I need to do something on the app?  Thank you very much!

Hello! I bought a Sonos connect for Christmas for my husband in hopes that he could then play his vinyl collection through our Sonos system. We have a One SL, One, Beam and a roam that we use through the Sonos 2 App.  is it possible to connect the Sonos Connect to the receiver so that vinyl can be played through our Sonos speakers? If so, how? Do I have to use S1 to make this happen? Can my other speakers be used through S1?  thank you so much!

Hiim building a media wall and wanted to build a recess/ niche to put Sonos beam into , leaving approx 50mm gap all around it will this work ok?

Hi, I’ve been having constant issues trying to update my beam and can’t use it for many weeks now. She will work alone with TV, but can’t use in 5.1 configuration or send music through it, she’s not part of my system anymore as I can’t do this update.I have the 1013 error message code. I’ve been through all the proposed solution, I’ve factory reset my system several time, nothing will do, can’t update. Here is my diagnostic report : 1410586573 Hope someone can sort this out as it is super annoying… Thanks!

I have an original LG oled B6 TV which does not have eArc.Currently I am using a Denon 5.1.4 setup and have my sources plugged into the Denon and my 2nd HDMI out into the Syncbox, everything works perfectly. Is the HDMI on the Arc bi directional?Would this workSources-SyncBox-Arc-TVAs from my understanding going this other route loses me Hi Res audioSources-SyncBox-TV-Arc as wouldSources-TV-SyncBox-ARC which would also render the syncbox useless

Beam has been connected to LG tv, ARC input for about 3 months. On about 1/12/21 there was a Virgin Media tv outage, which appeared to coincide with an LG software update. The TV & VM box had to be powered off to reset. Since then the Beam cannot be reconnected. Error msg “A device is interfering with the hdmi connection” - But nothing is connected, all is as was before the VM outage

Hey:I started to use my Sonos system for surround sound.Since I switched from stereo to surround sound, my Sub started to make a low-frequency popping sound. I think this happens whenever the system enables surround sound.I submitted a diagnostics report: 1110098891It would be great if I could get some help.Best wishes,Martin

Hi SonosHow easy is it for guests who come to my house to play their own music? Is it simple? I would like any guest to connect to my playbar simply and easily.Do they need to install special software or can they just connect to my wifiand start playing?Let me know your thoughtsCheers  Moderator note: We updated this article in October 2023 with new information below. An up to date list of Airplay compatible Sonos products can be found here:  Stream AirPlay audio to Sonos

Very annoying but one of my surround speakers on my Arc system is skipping and going out of sync and back and it is getting worse. I submitted a diagnostic file: 924179937

Hi all, I recently upgraded to both a new TV, along with my recently purchased sonos arc and sub gen 3 I have had for a few months. My TV is a Philips 65PUS7556/12 65 4K Ultra HD HDR LED TV. It said it has atmos sound along with E-arc hence my decision to buy it. I currently have a SkyQ box connected with premium Netflix plan. I use this for Netflix. The main question I have is, does my current setup enable me to have dolby atmos. Is it absolutely essential to have rear speakers added to my current setup for atmos to be enabled, and will this in turn show up on my sonos app? Can the arc and sub gen 3 give a true atmos experience just by itself? Kind regards.

I’ve never had Sonos equipment, but am looking to simplify my setup and am very interested. What I’m looking at doing is getting a new TV and get rid of my huge TV stand that houses a standard 5.1 receiver setup. I’d like to instead wall mount the TV and a sound bar and get rid of the equipment that takes up floor space. What I’m planning is:65” LG C1 OLED TV wall mounted Sonos Arc soundbar wall mounted Sonos Amp connected to my outdoor speakers (Klipsh AW-650’s) Probably not important for this question, but a small cabinet or wall mounted shelf to house my internet modem, router, and Sonos Amp. My questions are:What would the recommended wiring/connections be for this setup? I’ve gathered that I’ll use the HDMI 2.1 connection between the TV and soundbar, but it’s unclear to me how the rest should be connected (although I’m hoping they’re just all connected wirelessly through my home network).  What is my interface for controlling my outdoor speakers? Can I play the same music coming f

Hi, all. i recently purchased a Beam Gen 2 to pair with my AppleTV 4k and Sony TV. While a show is playing or while I am listening to music, I get a loud pop noise and the TV turns off. Very annoying and problematic. Any suggestions? Thanks, Paul

I have the arc/sub setup with my new Samsung QN84 through the E-arc port. I have my Apple TV 4K plugged into HDMI port 1. If I watch any content on Netflix, Disney + that has Atmos audio, everything works perfectly fine and sounds incredible. However, if I then go to play a show that is not Atmos quality, “sometimes” the audio does not come through at all. “sometimes” it does play in Multichannel 5.1 as it should. It seems to be very buggy and inconsistent. I have tried multiple HDMI cables, all HDMI ports other than the E-arc where the Arc is connected, and the issue remains. The TV settings I have are HDMI-earc Mode on auto and Digital Output Audio Format to Pass-Through.  If I turn Atmos off on the Apple TV and select 5.1, everything plays completely fine with zero issues. Unfortunately Apple support seems clueless on this, so hoping somebody here has seen this issue and has a recommendation that could prevent me from having to manually turn Atmos on when I want to watch certain con
