can't turn on microphone on sonos arc

I've just upgraded 2 x One SLs to 2 x Era 300s as rears in a home theatre set up (Arc plus 2 subs). Initially I had stands, but have replaced them for wall mounts, in my opinion way better! The speakers can go closer to the wall physically, and you lose the 'ET' effect.My question: there's lots of wood in this room, and I wondered whether a larger rug, or even a rug with some acoustic absorbing material underneath will improve sound. What does everyone think? Thanks! 

 Would a One SL be recognized and effective as a rear center?

Hi have a new Samsung Frame TV in the living room and the one connect box is in the closed cabinet right next to the TV. My Sonos AMP set up is inside my media room which is on the other side of the house from the living room. The Sonos AMP is currently connected to my 5 ceiling speakers in the living room. That is working perfectly.Now I want to get the Sonos Amp connected to my Samsung frame so I can run the TV audio to the ceiling speakers. The one connect is in the cabinet next to the TV and inside the cabinet I have a RG6 coaxial female port and then I have a Cat6 port. Both of these hook ups run directly into the media room across the house where my Sonos amp is stored. I need to use either the coaxial hook up or the CAT6 hook up but I cannot figure out the best set up.Currently I have tried this set up:I plugged an optical audio cable into the Samsung one connect box and put the other end in this switch that I found on Amazon (Optical-to-Coa

I’m considering buying a Sonos Arc, and feeding TV audio to it with the optical connection, but I’d like to get an answer to this question:  According to the user manual, you can “program a TV remote to control the Sonos volume”, however  it also says that “Only one remote can be programmed to control the Sonos home theater speaker at a time.”.  I will need to control the volume with either of 2 remotes; however, one of them is a programmable which emits the same control codes as the other, with regard to raising, lowering, or muting the TV volume.  My interpretation of what is going on when you “program a TV remote to control the Sonos volume” is that the Sonos is learning what codes the remote uses for the volume commands, and that therefore any number of different remotes could be used for volume, as long as they send the same volume codes.Are my assumptions correct, and is anyone successfully doing this?  Thank you. 

I have a Playbar and 2 x Play:1 set up in a surround sound configuration.  this has worked seamlessly for years.  in the past few months the surrounds lose their connectivity and when the mute button is pressed on the Play:1s just flashed amber.  I either have to unplug the speakers from the mains and re plug in or remove them from the S2 app and set up from scratch.  This nows happens every 2-3 days.I’ve installed a new wifi router that hasn’t fixed the problem and re-installed my Sonos system from scratch and the surrounds are still losing connectivity.Have any other users had this issue and resolved?

I currently have a Sonos Beam gen 2 with two surround sound Play 1 speakers. I used TRUEPLAY to make sure that the sound was going to be optimum. The issue I am having, and no one seems to be able to help, is that the surround sound speakers at the back cannot be controlled independently. The BACK LEFT surround speaker has a volume MUCH LESS then the volume of the BACK RIGHT surround speaker. I want to balance those two rear surround Sonos Play 1 speakers. 

Hi there,I have just replaced my Sonos One SLs with two Era 300s. In the setup I have an Arc and 2 Subs (3rd Generation).I did initially buy the official stands, however both are slightly leaning forward and not 'square'. I also prefer a neater look, and so will wall mount the Era 300s. Is the above position ideal, or should they be wider apart? My listening position is also slightly lower when watching a film, so I'll have them slightly lower than the stands, will this have any downside? I have one Sub sat on the Era 300 stand's base to the right (it sits here perfectly fine), and the other in the opposite corner of the room where the screen is. Again, is this a good position for the Subs? I haven't found any good Atmos demos to test, although they are significantly better than the Ones. Fuller sound, and better c

Hi all,just ran various 5.1 and 7.1 tests and the outside channels are firing when sound is supposed to come from the rear left or right. Meanwhile the inside channels are firing for sounds supposed to come from side left / right. Shouldn’t this be the other way around, especially with the supposed placement facing straight towards the wall where the TV is placed? My thoughts were that the side left / right would be reflected from the wall after being fired from the 300s outside channel. I saw somebody on Reddit mentioning that repairing as surrounds fixed this issue but it doesn’t on my end.  Any ideas how to fix this? I assume this is also the reason why some people have a subpar experience with the 300s as surrounds. 

How do I setup a TV to transmit to Sonos wirelessly instead os by cable?

Hi team,I’ve ordered a pair of ERA300s to use as surrounds with my Arc and sub. I was planning of mounting them at regular listening height on the wall behind my couch. Then I read that they can also be placed nearer the ceiling upside down and I can easily mount them there too.So I have a choice. Which is the best position to mount them or doesn’t it matter.cheers, Dave

Please please help before I throw this crap out the window.Sub constantly disconnects from sub, possibly from router reset, I don't know. Generally turning this junk off and back on resets it all fine. Tonight, oh my god what a palaver. Router has been reset 3 times. Sub reset 5 times. Playbar reset 4 times. Variations of unplugging. I've had 3 different fault messages. Eventually found " Wireless connection not suitable for this playbar. "Reset everything. Uninstall app, reinstall. Reconnect all components. It recognises both items, but won't allow me to add the sub to the room( playbar) as it can't find it ??? Seriously? I've been at this an hour now. Pressing buttons, resetting this, resetting that, all different orders. The Wireless isn't suitable bit has gone, both speakers are on the app, but they don't recognise each other. All been fine for 3 years except all these disconnects but this one takes the biscuit

So my remote-not-working issue so far appears to be different than everyone elses.  My Down volume control has stopped working, though Up still works.  I’m pretty comfortable it’s not hardware for two reasons:I have both my cable remote and a different 3rd party remote configured to do the same up/down volume, and Down volume stopped working for both of them at the same time.  Which suggests to me that the problem is on the Sonos side, not the remote side. If I go to setup a new remote and re-do this one, it asks me to press Up Volume.  When I press Up volume on the remote, the light on the Playbar blinks and Sonos acknowledges the Up press, and says I’m ready to use my remote.  I then try to use the remote, and Up still does not work, but Down still does.Any suggestions? 

I have just updated my old Yamaha AVR for a Denon 2800. My TV output is to a projector and Sonos Playbar (+Sub + 2x Play1). I have used an HDMI splitter for the past six year to separate the output from the AVR into video to the projector via an HDMI cable and the audio to the Playbar via an optical cable.When I installed the new Denon AVR I intended to use the same projector and Sonos system so connected to the two, via the same splitter box, to the Denon output as I had it previously. The picture quality is fine but I cannot get the sound to work at all.I have spoken to both Denon and Sonos technical support but neither are able to help or suggest what I might try. Can anyone in this community help please?Thanks

Why are the voice and picture so out of sync on my Sonos Arc and Samsung QN90 TV

Hi,  recently upgraded my system and got 2x era 300 to replace my Sonos ones.  I have an arc, sub and era 300s and every so often they keep going really quiet for like a second or two.  I have submit the diagnosis 1098022638 within 10 mins of it happening. Didn’t happen before on my previous set up.  thanks. 

A great feature for my own personal use and business users (thinking specifically of sports bars in this instance) of Sonos would be to have the television-connected speakers automatically switch to music when television commercials start, and back to the television audio once the game starts again. Please let me know when this update is available, with my sincere thanks.   

Sonos beam got disconnected from my Panasonic tv

I am using a DELL u2720qm as a monitor and this monitor has only 3.5mm audio output.How to connect the 3.5mm audio output jack to the sonos beam gen2?

Hi there,We have a room with two Sonos amps, one for front pair of ceiling speakers and one amp for rear ceiling speakers and a Sonos Sub configured for 4.1 surround sound, all with wired ethernetIs there a Sonos product availlable (preferably with wired ethernet port) that could drop into this system to act as centre speaker to enable 5.1 surround sound? 

hello all, Im excited to receive my first Sonos system in a few days, comprising of  Sonos arc, sub mini and 2 rear 100’s. I’m looking for opinions on best location to put the rears, i will predominantly be watching films but i do listen to quite a bit of music so i’m wondering if spacing them out wider would be better? Ive attached a photo for reference, would the blue option be better than the red band the speakers would be more spaced out? thanks for your help! Gordon. 

I have been trying to connect my play base to the S2 since being out of the country travelling. It is flashing green but is not discoverable on either app. This seems to be a problem with Playbases having looked at threads. Is there a fix now? 

Hi all,Maybe not the best place to ask this but I’m having problems with my arc and my LG C1 using the magic remote. It used to work fine but since I changed my wall mount I can’t seem to get the volume to work properly. I think it’s because in Universal Control Settings the audio is set to is set to headphones. For the life of me I can’t seem to change it to say eArc. Anyone know how to change that or offer some screen shots of your settings?Even the Sonos app doesn’t connect to the tv anymore or allow for me to connect to the magic remote.  

I have a Sonos Arc in conjunction with a Sony XR-55A83J and I have two problems:1) The volume can only be scrolled in increments of multiples of two (sometimes 18,20,22, sometimes 21, 23, 25, it maby depends on my previous settings of volume on phone), and sometimes I can't even see the slider even when the volume is increased or decreased.2) Worse thing - it happens that once I play music on my phone from Spotify on the Sonos ARC, then randomly the sound from the TV doesn't come through. It's completely silent, it doesn't help even when I try to fiddle with all the sound settings on the TV, switch the output to TV and back. The TV even switches itself to that "Audio system" input, but it remains completely silent. The only thing that works is physically unplugging the Sonos from the power outlet.
