Is it me or does the arc sound hollow/metallic? Some sounds like waterfall or rain sounds hollow. 

Hello Sonos Family,I am having HDMI Issues, my Sonos Beam2 stops working at times, come to find out the back of my TV HDMI port was loose, Samsung came out, replaced the HDMI port, plugged my soundar back in, it worked great for a couple of days, then the issue started happening again, the HDMI cable seems to be a little loose back there, when i wiggle it, sound comes in and out from soundbar. Do i need to invest in a better HDMI Cable, like a MONSTER, i have a rocketfish plugged in now.It seems like my HDMI Cable needs a tighter fit, or do I just have a TV that has a crappy input port ?My TV is a Samsung Q80B QLED 4k 55”   Any reccomendations ? Thank you,Mikey

So, I have been testing streaming from my PS5 (Plex, Prime, YouTube, Spotify) and it looks like everything I stream from the PS5 through the soundbar it's giving me Dolby Atmos (that's what the app is showing).  Not sure who is making the trick because for YouTube I was surprise, I wasn't expecting getting the Dolby Atmos message in the Sonos App.  I tested the same video from Amazon Prime with the PS5 I get Dolby Atmos even tho the movie doesn't have it!! With the NVIDIA Shield I get sorround 5.1 as expected. So, who is making the tick here, the PS5 or the Sonos App is having some kind of bug? But I can notice the sound difference so not sure what the hell is the PS5 doing to convert everything to Dolby Atmos.

Hi there,I'm planning to purchase a Sonos amp and replace my AVR. I already own a Sonos One and I really fell in love with the app, the simplicity and the lack of cable clutter. However, I want to keep my passive speakers. I have a specific use case that I can't find an answer to, and I'm hoping you can help me out.  Here's the setup I'm interested in: Amp + 2 passive speakers + 2 Sonos One as rear speakers for TV and music (Streaming + turntable) I only have the opportunity to watch TV and listen to my vinyl records a few days a week max. due to young children. I understand that Sonos devices are designed to be powered on continuously. However, I'd like to pull the plug amp and only switch it on when needed.Is it possible to use the Sonos One speakers independently when the amp is powered off, even though they are configured as rear speakers? I want to use them for Spotify, Internet Radio, and voice control. It w

Hi All,I have an old Yamaha amplifier (20 years) 5.1 with home cinema sound (1 subwoofer + 5 speakers), connected to my TV via cable.I’d like to keep my amplifier but put a Sonos home theater (ultimate immersive set with arc) instead of my subwoofer+speakers.How can I do that?With cables connectd to my amplifier? Which ones?Do I have to skip my Yamaha amplifier and thus connect the Sonos home theater directly to my TV? Bluetooth or cables?I’m a dummies in that area… any support will be welcome ;-)David

I have (2) ERA300’s and a mini sub in one zone then separately (1) ERA100 in a second zone.Whenever I have music playing and zones grouped, it only plays ONE speaker from ONE of the zones. If I ungroup, it will play music from one ERA300 then the ERA100 in the other zone will be playing (1 speaker per zone). I’ve been able to play around with it and have both ERA300’s play music from the first zone (separately). The sub has never operated yet even though it is tied to them in the zone. All of the speakers are within 30’ of my WiFi router. Has anyone had this issue where it only plays from one speaker when it is part of a zone? Secondarily, has anyone ever had it only play from one speaker when all zones are grouped together?w

I have beam 1. I had it hooked up to a Samsung smart tv.  The tv went went out and I purchased a Sony  43”smart tv. I had Best Buy install the new tv. Best Buy tech’s  tried to hook up the beam 1 to the Sony tv via hdmi. It would stay on for 10-15 seconds then cut off. They spent about 30minutes trying.  No luck.  Any suggestions. Will the beam 1 work w it’s the new Sony tv or just beam 2.  I would appreciate your help since I spent a lot of money on the beam speaker

Hi folks….Airplay…..well i’m just try to figure how to ask the right question here. I’ll try my best. The TV’s i got are more or less 10-14yo. They are all Plastma and they got HDMI ARC-connection.Before i got the Arcana HDfury,i had my home cinema streaming movies over Airplay(yes i got a Apple tv 4K for all my TV’s). When i start choose soundsource from the side menu i turn on my Beam and turn off speakers in TV. Then press play….everything seems to be working ok….If i watch Youtube,and there is a commercial,the Beam disconnected and only TV-speakers work. Then you need to go to sidemenu again…..choose the Beam and turn off TV speaker. Is there a way to fix this? Or i just buy a new TV with eARCor another eARC-extractor like an OREI or another Arcana(or a cheeper one….any suggestions?) 

Hi all good people. Can i get some input of what route to go. If some of you have scrolled around my questions i’m gonna let the ones that didn’t a little brief.Tree different rooms,only one with a home cinema-status.The other two rooms got both Panasonic 2010-mod and Apple Tv 4k.I will get the Arc in a few months,so one of the two rooms will have a Beam G2 transfere from my precence home cinema setup.The final room would like to get a soundbar as well,but i’m not sure what to get. It probobly would be a budget system. I allready got Ikea Bookshelf’s for surround,and i will probobly gonna get a Gen2/3.So….do you people recomend the Playbar or the Playbase? Or is the Ray so much better that these options. The price is basicly the same for these items here in Norway.

Hi, I have a slight but annoying audio delay. The lips of onscreen actors/news anchors is faster than the audio. Also, when pausing a show and then resuming the episode a short time later, the audio does not resume sometimes up to 10 seconds. I use Bluetooth for my (two) Sonos one SL’s, an arc and amp. In Sonos app settings, delay playback is off. I have high speed internet in the house. Router is next to the arc. All the speakers are contained in the family room. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks. 

I just added a sub mini to my arc. Why does the sound go out or fades seemingly at random times. Thanks in advance!

My modem died yesterday. I got a new modem and try to get everything all set up. My play bar wasn’t showing up in the settings, but was still playing. As I want to be able to control it independently, I tried multiple things, including, unfortunately, (as per comments, here by administrators), factory resets. I cannot get the Playbar to connect to the Wi-Fi. I’ve spent hours on the phone with both my Wi-Fi service provider as well as Sonos. I can get it working just fine with an ethernet cable. Unfortunately the TV is not located in proximity to my modem.Is the Wi-Fi dead in this playbar?Thoughts? Thoughts? Any help in getting my player? Bar connected to the Wi-Fi would be greatly appreciated. I’ve spent countless hours and torn out many hairs trying to get this resolved.

I currently have a surround sonos set up (playbase, sub, 2 sonos one speakers). Can i replace one of my current sonos one speakers with an era 300 without any issues?

So My installer put Arc under my 77 Inch Samsung S90 (installed with Sanus 4D mount) I took pix this morning in dark with Flashlight to show Atmos, upward firing speakers, distance from TV.. The TV only covers about 1/4” to 1/2” Max of the back of speaker.   Will this be okay for Sound?  If Not, what are any suggestions?  Can I make the speaker stand off the wall further without having to move Arc mount to a lower position? I’ll take other pix later, but the 2nd TV mounted above the Fireplace where the Arc is right under TV with no spacing, the TV covers about 1/2” of the back of the Atmos speaker.  Thx everyone!!! 

Hello everyone! Forgive me if this is an elementary question but I am confused on how to connect my Apple TV 4K to my Sonos Arc (w/ Sub) when I’m using the only HDMI port on Apple TV to plug into my TV’s eARC port. My TV is the Sony Bravia X90K. I then connect my Sonos to my TV directly (there is only one eARC port) and Apple TV asks me to manually connect to the Arc every time. Is there a way to connect Apple TV both to the Arc and TV? Should I use an AV receiver? Thanks so much!!

I have a Sonos Beam that I use for my TV front audio and was wondering if there is a Sonos product that could be used (wirelessly) as a rear speaker ?

Hey, everybody. I realize this is a bit of a silly question, but still. Does anyone know if there are any plans to update the app to use 4x Sonos Era-300? It seems to me that for people who want to watch content on large diagonals (150 inches and more), the Arc soundbar will not be enough.I wouldn't mind expanding the stage with additional Era 300/100's in front on the sides either.  

I have the arc and 2 x ones and they work fine together for movies giving me both atmos and surround from movies on my Apple TV + LG tv. But… I also have a blu-ray with music in 5.1 format. Can I somehow rip this and convert to something that can be played back correctly on my system? For my dvd and Blu-ray collection I have ripped these and store them on a NAS which the Apple TV can access and I then play back using Infuse. Works like a charm. My music collection is also on the NAS and I can get the Sonos app to play back tracks from it. What format should I pick for the music? Can the Sonos app somehow access and play it back in multichannel?

Hello Everyone,I have a Beam Gen 2 connected via EARC to my Sony X90J TV.We watch TV via an HDHomeRun where channels here in Australia broadcast in MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 with different audio formats like PCM 2.0, DD 2.0, DD 5.1 etc.Sound quality and volume varies a lot on the different channels.  Sometime a volume setting of 34 is OK while others it can be up at the 60 mark.  Even at higher settings it is difficult to understand what is being said.Add to this we live in a duplex which renders the use of loud volumes being not an option.My thought was to buy a couple of One SL Speakers and place them at either end of the lounge where we sit and watch TV.So my question is would this help or am I just wasting my money?TIA 

I’ve searched and read lots of posts, but still can’t figure out the optimal direction to face my 300s.  I know some posts say just try each and see what sounds best, but I would like to first determine the theoretical best direction.My couch is up against a wall and there is no way to place 300s behind (as you can see from the pics).  What is the best direction to face them?  It seems like the best would be to face them towards the TV so at least 1 of the sides is directed towards me and the other side is bouncing off the wall, but I would love to get some expert opinions.  I don’t mind moving each speaker a bit before watching a movie, which would give me the 8 inches clearance recommended.Left surround position - against wall ~6 feet from listening positionhttps://photos.app.goo.gl/KW8CD5QJg9V6bTLC9Right surround position - against bo

I have a beam and two play 1’s which can be set up as either stereo or surround.  I also have a roam.  im wondering if I add another roam could I set up the beam with the play 1’s as front and roams as rear.  I have some dvd’s which have 5.1 surround music on them and wondering how I get to listen to them in a better setting  I am currently just playing them as 5.1 dts.  I also use the play 1 to connect to my port and turntable.  im hoping someone can direct me how to make the most of my system when I want to watch dvd  I also have an old Sonos play bar in the front room and can move the other bits to make it work in there if that helps   

Hey guys, quick question:I plan to setup a videoprojector on my ceiling, and I would like to connect it with an AppleTV 4K , and use a Sonos Era300 as sound system.Unfortunately I don’t have a wall to hang a soundbar on it, so I’ll put my Era300 on a Stand Pair under the screen when I’ll watch movies. What do you think about that ?→ I understand it’s not possible to have Dolby Atmos sound through AirPlay2 (yet? I hope you’re working on it guys?), but will it work in Dolby 5.1 ? Or Stereo only ? Thanks

Hi all I currently have a Playbar and Sub (I assume 1st gen) and small whit Sonos bridge. What are the best speakers to pair with this set up? Playbar is above TV and I have shelves on both sides of tv with plenty of space. Went to Best Buy and they told me I could connect any of the new gen speakers with them. What speakers would I have to source to put on the sides of the tv. I have the sun set up near the couch away from the tv. 

I have an open concept living room with Florida concrete block exterior walls so in-wall speakers and rear surround speakers are not an option. My wife doesn’t want speakers out visible in the middle of the room. I want to create a 5.1.4 Dolby Atmos system surround sound system for my home theater using an Onkyo NR7100 receiver with Sonos speakers. I would like to use the Arc, the sub, and 4 Sonos ceiling speakers to do this? Will this work? It seems like it would. What am I missing? I do t think I need to add a Sonos amp anywhere to make it work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
