I have a Beam, 2 Play1 wireless speakers, sub for my SONOS system. My TV is a Sony X940E Bravia and my 4K player is a Sony UBP X700. I’ve just discovered that unless I turn my audio output on my TV to PCM, most of my 4K discs will not play sound. Unfortunately playing PCM on my SONOS Beam is underwhelming. Streaming Netflix in Dolby 5.1 sounds better. I’m wondering if I have any options. Would it be better to purchase a different 4K player or dump SONOS since this has to do with their refusal to obtain DTS licenses. Is there a converter of some sort I can get? Thanks!

LG has released a firmware upgrade for the B9/C9/E9 supporting multichannel PCM passthrough.  This is great except Arc doesn’t support it yet. Because of this new update, my Apple TV decides it should use LPCM instead of Dolby Digital 5.1 with Atmos enabled resulting in only 2.0 audio for non Atmos content.  The current only workaround is to disable Atmos and enable it when you want to watch an Atmos file.  Very frustrating as the previous firmware had no issue.  

With the Sonos S2 app on an iphone my Arc was detected and connected to my home network, but will not connect to my new LGOLED77GX TV. I have set the TV sound to output to HDMI Arc, and in additional settings I set the TV to audio pass through and to HDMI eArc. The Gen 3 sub is connected to the Arc, also via the wireless home network. The connection between the TV and the Arc is an HDMI 2.1 cable, plugged into the LG's eArc terminal (HDMI 2), and the other end is plugged into the Sonos Arc. I have tried simply powering off the Arc, and also a factory reset of the Arc, but each time I try to connect the Arc to the TV the Sonos 2 app says it cannot connect to the TV when I tell it the Arc is physically connected to the TV as described above. Help please 🤔.

I've been living with lip sync issues (audio behind the video) since I got my Playbar about a year ago but I finally decided to do something about it. After multiple conversations with Sonos support and the LG's support people (they kept blaming each other for the audio delay), I decided to email Sonos' CEO about the issue. After a few hours, I got a reply back from him, CCing a team manager who was going to look into the issue. We scheduled a call and he had me send various diagnostics to him. He said that the engineering team was going to investigate and get back to me. A week later, I got an update. He told that they are still working on the issue. He also said that only one other person had reported the same issue (I assume that means that only one other person with an LG TV). So, if you're having audio delay issues and you've tried all other troubleshooting, reach out to Sonos support and have them look into it. Hi, I have 2 seperate 5.1 systems in my home currently.  I have arc, sub, amp and 2 non sonos in-wall speakers in living room and I have playbar, sub, and 2 sonos one’s in my bedroom.  What I need help with from the community is:  Can I have the exact setup listed above but change out the 2 sonos ones in my bedroom for 2 more inwall non sonos speakers and continue running 2 seperate 5.1 setups.  I know the amp can run up to 4 speakers but I am not sure if you can continue running 2 seperate 5.1 setups off of one single amp.  Hope this all made since.  Thanks for the knowledge if you know the answer.

Hi there, I have Arc + Sub + two One SL as surround in my living. All devices are in the same group called living. This works well for watching TV. What I wanted to do is to create a second group with only the two One SL + the Sub to be used when listening music in a normal 2.1 mode.  Is this something doable and if yes how? Many thanks in advance.C.

I have a sony smart tv a sonos beam 2 Sonos one 2 sonos one sl. Setup hdmi arc on beam 2 sone one sl as sorround and the 2 sonos one as stereo pair. Now when i grup them to sound all together on tv it sound with echos and every time i turn on the tv and put it on group also use apple tv and both the sony tv and apple tv remotes don’t setup as it supposed to be when i go to the settings and press vol up it dont find it. Main concern is the beam and the sl aourround grouped with the ones as stereo pair makes echo like 10 tvs are playing the same sound and the issue of having to turn on the group ever time i turn on the tv and the volume of the beam and the stereo pair are not even when up or down one is higher 

Can anyone please help.I am waiting for my Sonos arc which is back ordered, if I were to play videos via Apple Music app on smart tv through Earc(arc) would I be able to stream the same music coming through the arc across the whole of my Sonos speakers 

Hi Everyone, Since the latest update on my playbar (running version 2) i face the following issue. I have run the trueplay settings and i can hear a more ‘surround sound’ coming from my playbar. But after a while this effect is gone and the player sounds like trueplay is disbled. However, when i check at the settings trueplay is still enabled. But i can hear from the sound that trueplay is in no way working or not working as it should. There’s more bass coming from my playbar and that’s not the case when trueplay is operating. No matter what i do, disable trueplay, enable it, retune (there’s holes in my room from me walking true my room) the trueplay works for a little while and all of sudden stops working. Anyone have any idea’s what to do? Im using an iphone with v2 app installed wich i also removed and reinstalled to no avail.

I know this isn't the first discussion about this, but I'm hoping I can get some fresh ideas. Ever since I purchased Arc I've had vocals pan to the left. TruePlay on/off and about a million placement/angle/seating changes to try and balance this out, to no avail. I know the center portion of the Arc has a tweeter on the left-center position instead of dead center. Is this the issue and as such can't be fixed? I assume this isn't a big issue if you sit far away but I sit around 7.2ft from Arc, can't move back or want to. I will mention that I have two walls in close proximity to the Arc. The left side speaker has a wall to bounce off about 1m closer than the right side. I remember from Beam that could make a difference. I am thinking of getting an extra fridge (regardless) which can act as a reflection surface on the right side, evening things out. Could this fix the entire issue or is it just the weird center tweeter location?  is anyone suffering from the same thing? Then checked it on my tv settings all I’ve got is pcm or dolby 2.0. Just want to ask which is better to use? Tried choosing the dolby but it felt like it make my beam louder than pcm but lacking of surrounds. Hope you can help me. Thanks and stay safe 🙏👍

I recently updated my LG webos software version to 03.21.18 and lost the ability to turn volume up or down on my Sonos Arc through the Apple TV 4K remote. Has anyone else had this issue as everything worked perfectly before!Now I can’t vol + / - using the Apple TV 4K remote. Is it a bug in software update, or something else? My Sonos Beam connected to Samsung Q80T tv disconnects on average once every 20 minutes. When this happens it reverts back to TV speakers. It will either reconnect again after a few minutes or I have to disconnect and reconnect the HDMI.I spent an hour on the phone speaking to tech support and sent a number of diagnostic reports immediatly after it happened, but none of the suggestions worked. Has anyone else had this issue? I am wondering if the speaker could be deffective.

Hello everyone. I am looking for some advice on setting up my Sonos Amp in-ceiling speakers and Sonos Beam to effectively have a 5.1 surround sound configuration. The current sound is definitely not optimal. The beam is too soft during one on one conversations/dialog scenes and the ceiling speakers are too loud during action scenes with background audio to hear anything else. I’ve tried adjusting the Surround “TV Volume” but I just can not seem to find an optimal setting for both the Beam and Ceiling speakers to work together. The Sonos amp is connected to four in-ceiling Sonance speakers (two L and two R), and all four are located behind the optimal viewer seating area. I then have a Sonos Beam under the TV with HDMI and may plan is to add a Sonos Sub at a later time. Nothing is wired to Ethernet, and nothing is wired together, just managing it all on the Sonos app. I obviously setup the surrounds one I plugged in the Beam, because that option became available. I know there’s threads of this but it’s blowing me away how any blu rays I buy have DTS audio and the Sonos Arc system doesn’t support it, it’s really mind blowing honestly.  There are so many people complaining of this here and elsewhere so obviously it’s not like it’s a minor inconvenience.  Is there not any possible way this could be added in the future Sonos?   Come on, do it.

Hi. I was thinking about adding a couple of rear speakers to my Beam Soundbar, would a couple of Roam speakers do the job wirelessly. The fact they are battery powered , would make them ideal for temporary placement in my TV room, when watching content that warrants good surround sound, while the rest of the time, they could live in my kitchen and conservatory.?

I need help please.  Reaching out to Avantree to fix my problem but getting no help with my new equipment.I have the QN55Q8FNA Samsung Smart TV which has both the digital audio access and the HDMI ARC access as well as Bluetooth and Wi Fi.  I have hearing loss, so I purchased the Avantree wireless headphones and the Avantree Orbit transmitter so my wife can hear the audio from the tv speakers or Sonos Beam soundbar whuch we just purchased, at her preferred level and I can hear through the headphones at my preferred level.  Until I purchased and added the Sonos Beam Soundbar, I could hear through the Avantree Headphones and my wife could hear the tv speakers simultaneously and she and I could watch tv together.  We decided to add the Sonos as an audio improvement over the tv speakers.  I’m very disappointed that I can get no help to remedy this!  Should I return the orbit and get the Oasis Plus model?  What should I do?  The Sonos Beam sounds great but I cannot get it and the Orbit to w

I’ve been using a sonos beam with my Q80T for about six months with zero issues.  Now out of no where starting a couple days ago, every time I turn on the TV, it’s switched back to using the TV speakers. Things I’ve tried:turning off/on anynet+ unplugging and replugging power to both beam and TV using a different hdmi port and cable factory reset on the TV  I’m still able to manually switch audio output to “hdmi receiver” but then if I turn the TV off and on, it’s back on TV speakers. And sometimes it seems like sound isn't even coming out of the sound bar when I manually switch to it. it’s incredibly frustrating and I’m not sure what else I can do to fix it. 

What is the max band width on the hdmi cable that comes with the arc. Do I need to buy say an 8k type cable?

I know this has been posted multiple times in various scenarios.I bought this setup just under a month ago, the Arc TV, the Sub and a pair of One SL’s.I have a wired connection to the Arc, but the Sub and One SL’s are wireless.  I believe the Arc is acting wireless as well.The TV is an LG 60UJ6300-UA 60” 4K and it has a standard ARC HDMI port which I know may not support the bandwidth for Atmos. The network is run off of an ASUS AX-88U 5G network in an apartment and seems to have a strong signal, though I am considering trying a Boost to see if it is interference.The cut outs are fast, and can vary sometimes it is one or two cutouts, sometimes it is consistent and I have to turn everything off for it to stop.  It almost seems like a sync issue where everything drops and then re synchronizes and starts again.  I have changed the HDMI cable, changed the WiFi from 5G to 2.4G and back and changed to wired for Arc, tried adding a delay, and tried re-registering everything. I have a question regarding the current situation regarding multi-channel LPCM with the Sonos Arc and the broken down-mixing from 4 to 2 surround channels. I know there's supposed to be a fix coming, but I've seen it again and again that such promises have been broken (not talking about Sonos, but tech companies in general). Also, a fix has been promised for four months now, and the longer it takes, the more likely it is that it will never be fixed – it’s apparently not so easy to fix.So I want to know what I'm getting into before buying the Arc + 2 One SLs as surrounds.I use an Apple TV, an Xbox Series X and soon a PS5 with an LG GX (eARC-capable). With consoles, I'd like to use 5.1 LPCM. With the Apple TV, everything should be output as what it is (Atmos as Atmos, 7.1 as 7.1, 5.1 as 5.1, 2.0 as 2.0), but I don't care if as bitstream or as LPCM.The question is: will the broken mix-down affect me with my setup?Can I set the consoles to output 5.1 LPCM and the Sonos Arc will play the si

HiI have a Sonos beam and last week after no problems at all I realised I was only receiving Stereo PCM when I was receiving Dolby 2.0 or 5.1 depending on the app or program etc.  I have fiddled around with the settings and it will let me change from stereo to multichannel bypass but I have to do this manually every time I turn the TV on. Very strange as I never had to do this previously. Any help or advice would be really great! Thanks Michael

Hi, we are moving and the new home lends itself to the in-ceiling speakers for home theater. right now, i have sonos play bar and sonos play:1’s as back speakers.  How would i connect the playbar and amp together for the sound.  Also, could i put the amp in another room and connect to playbar?  i am thinking of putting in room where the cabling runs will terminate.
