Hi all.  I have just bought the arc and have paired it with 2x sonos 5s. I wondered when using the 5s as surround if placing them to the far right and left of the room to front of room would work as well as placing to the rear of the room.  Does anyone else have this setup please? Many thanks 

Hello, I have now a beam gen2 with a sony bravia tv.I outputting the sound via earc (passtrought). No issue except with my Apple Tv and PS5 : the sound is muffled and not loud enought (LPCM 5.1) :on PS5 when a i play game (pcm priority, av amplifier 5.1) on Apple TV when i play another thing that atmos (ex lcpm 5.1 transcoded by apple , mycanal, netflix,vlc)  It’s just a little bit annoying.   

Ok need help roommates friend took my saround sound... I believe I seen some place in app that I can shut off use of system ... does any 1 know if possible 

I have a Sonos Arc soundbar.  My Fios remote only lets me increase the volume but not decrease it.  The only way I can decrease the volume is by using the app on my phone.  I spoke to a Sonos Tech and he told me that I needed to contact Frontier to have them do something with my remote.  I did and was told that they do not have a remote to do what I want.  They said they no longer have my FIOS system and there was nothing they could do.  Is there a Universal remote control that I could use?  I prefer to use a remote that reduce the volume via my Phone.

My best friend has a Sonos Arc and I want to surprise him with a turntable but I have read you can not pair a Bluetooth turntable with the Arc. I have a cheap sound bar and play my Bluetooth turntable through it with no issues. Is that possible with the Arc? I am leaning towards the Audio-Technica AT-LP60XBT-BK. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks! Eric

I am working with the low voltage installer currently on a plan for speaker placement. I will be putting in ceiling speakers in various places, but the one area I need some clarification on is the main living room.My planned setup is as follows:TV, Arc Soundbar, Sub and x2 Wall Speakers connected to a Sonos Amp as surroundCurrently on the plan all speaker wiring is home run back to a panel in the basement. I had planned to put multiple sonos amps in that location wired to ethernet. Can I do this with the TV surrounds as well? It is unclear to me if they need to be physically connected to the TV/Arc or if being on the same network will allow me to pair them up as surrounds. This obviously changes where I would home run that speaker pair to.Thanks!

V14.20 two instances dropouts/missing sub&surrounds since setting it up. One happend after trueplay retuning when I was gonna use the system later in the evening the surrounds were missing. Today the surrounds and sub were missing. Nothing else has happend with the router, I have different SSIDs and tons of IoT devices that report no issues. Got Beam gen 2, 2 Play:1s and a Sub mini. No mesh. Wifi6 enabled asus router. Connected to LG CX55 via eARC. Connected the beam on ethernet on the last dropout. Seemingly this is the solution for the “wireless” system. (And this time I didn’t have to reset the surrounds, just a reboot of them, the sub and the router.)

Hey guys!I am moving to a new place and in my head I am planning how and where to setup my TV and my Sonos Gear (Sonos Arc, Sub, One surrounds).The living room is quite large, has a lot of big windows, angled ceilings and therefore a lack of opportunities where to place the TV with the Sonos system. I highlighted the area in the photo where TV is supposed to be mounted. (please note that all the furniture in the photo will be replaced.)I am concerned that the sound is going to be compromised due to the rooms setup. So I would appreciate some suggestions and opinions on this matter. Thank you and cheers!

So, there were not any explicit answers that I could find. I found it when I prayed about it.So:On the Firestick: Home>Settings>Equipment Control>You my have to enter your PIN>Manage Equipment>Add Equipment>Scroll Down to Soundbar>Select Sonos.It walks you through the rest. It took about five minutes.

Hi,I currently have a Beam Gen 1 set up with two IKEA Symfonisk bookshelf speakers as my surround sound system. I have just upgraded my TV and wanted to upgrade my sound system as well. So I bought a used Play 5 Gen 1 to utilize the trade up offer. And now I have my eyes on a used Sonos package with an Arc, Sub Gen 3 and One. I was wondering if I could downgrade the Beam Gen 1 to the S1 app to pair it with the Play 5 Gen 1 and One and then play with the rest of the S2 system over AirPlay? Either through Spotify or Apple Music. Worst case Youtube. 

Hi everyone,I’m wondering if I should set up beam + sub + 5’s as surrounds on my TV OR whether I should have beam just on TV then have separate ‘music’ setup with stereo paired 5’s + sub. I listen mostly to music and I feel the latter option is the best use of the 5’s and subs for music as they’re stereo paired vs the first configuration where the 5’s are not stereo paired… What does everyone think?

Help please:I’ve just purchased a Beam Gen1 so I can finally use some Play 1s as home theatre setup, Beam and play1s are set up and playing music nicely in the room.I have now placed an Amazon Basics Audio Extractor between MacBook and BenQ W2000 projector and then the Sonos Optic to HDMI adaptor connected to the Optic port of the Audio Extractor, HDMI cable then runs to to the Beam mounted above the projected screen. However the sound still goes to the projector instead of the Beam. Hey guys,While I have Sonos Beam gen2 connected with LG via HDMI (eARC) I can’t select any other output device e.g. bluetooth headphones. I can technically select it in TV menu for like 5 seconds, and then output switched back to HDMI (eARC). Is it a bug or feature? Thanks in advance!

hello!  I have a Samsung television and a xiaomi projector in the same room. Is there an option to connect the two devices to the same Sonos arc?

Hi Sonos creators,As u may know I do have the whole sonos collection in order to play movies at its highest level…...BUT…..Is it possible that Sonos will work someday with Dolby Atmos company in L.A. on a  possibility of adding more units and upgrades in order to run this new sound system as good as those 11.2 domestics home theater sound systems from today. For instance:1- using the arc soundbar at a lower center and another one above the television, using the sonos five for the lower fronts, two sonos ones for higher fronts….and same thing for the sides and the rears?Presently I have the arc soundbar, a pair of Sonos Five for surrounds and 2 subs (1front and 1 rear), of course it sounds real good….BUT…….some’s really missing…….the heights and the sides !!!…..I know, would cost a fortune to add all those units but damn it’s sound terrific wooffff……...By the way nice design….very small units for their power capacities…...very high end components…..see I’m not even using my kit in my ow

I just bought a sonos beam gen 2 and a denon avr-S760H receiver. How do I connect my Tv (TCL) and blue ray player (SONY)  to use both of them?  The only speaker I want to use is the Beam. Should I plug in the AVR to the TV’s hdmi-arc but then how do I connect the Beam? Do I connect Beam directly  with the TV’s optical audio output? Or I connect the Beam  with the receiver’s somehow? Thx.

I have a Sonos arc with Sub Gen 3 and two One SL’s for surround. I have my tv setup to pass through sound to sound bar via eArc. What settings should I choose for the PS5 sound?Device type - AV receiver 5.1 or Sound bar?Also for sound format - Linear PCM or Dolby or Dolby DTS. Note that I only use it for gaming so whichever settings are best for thatI get conflicting opinions online so I’m not sure which settings are best.  

So I’ve had a longstanding issue with DTS on Sonos, where I can play DTS Blu Rays, but only if I turn off the ‘eARC’ of my TV. This is better than nothing, but frustrating as turning eARC off causes other issues with my setup.Sonos today told me that this is due to my Blu Rays outputting a form of DTS called ‘DTS 4’ which apparently Sonos don’t support. I’ve never been aware of DTS 4, and it seems all/most Blu Rays output DTS using that.Apparently the reason it works with eARC off is that my TV then downgrades DTS 4 to DTS, and Sonos plays it.But I really don’t understand why this is not supported as standard if it’s the only form of DTS on Blu Rays, and why there isn’t a way to just automatically downgrade it (without turning eARC off)? Does anyone know if Sonos are likely to add support for this soon?My setup:TV - LG B9 OLEDBlu Ray Player - Panasonic DP-UB820Sonos - Sonos Arc + One SLs

hola buenos dias, la verdad que ya no encuentro manera de como conectar la barra sonos arc con la app de sonos para que me funcione con el sonos sub. ya conecte con la app de sonos la sonos sub pero para que funcione debe estar conectada con la barra sonos ARC, y esta ultima no me deja la app agregarla me sale un error del router al final de la instalacion ya lo intente con un cable ethernet y la verdad no he tenido resultados, estoy desesperado porque he intentado varias maneras y nada aun, seria alguien tan amable de ayudarme porfavor. o si hay alguna manera de que funcionen ambas sin usar la app de sonos seria posible?

I am putting together a 5.1 surround system using Arc SL, Sonos One’s, and subwoofer.  Since the One’s have microphones but the Arc SL does not, I understand that I can still use voice control--via Sonos voice, Alexa, or others.  Is this correct?  In other words, do I not need the Arc?  I am not sure how to set this up. Also, how do I configure separate Sonos configurations?  I want one for home theater (the 5.1 config mentioned above, and 4 other One’s for music throughout the house.

Hi all,I’ve seen various topics about this , all with no clear answer, so I’ll try to spell my issue out simply and clearly.I have a Samsung Q70AA 65” tv, an Xbox Series X and a Sonos Beam gen 2.The tv is set to allow audio pass through and to allow Dolby atmos.The Xbox is connected via the 2.1 hdmi port. The settings are set to allow pass through and for Dolby atmos.The Sonos Beam is connected via the e-arc port of my tv, e-arc is set to on.Games in Dolby atmos have significant sync issues. Blu rays, tv and streaming apps do not. The Sonos app displays Dolby atmos when it should do. The tv dialog sync setting on the Sonos app makes no difference.The audio delay setting on the tv makes a slight difference but games in dolby atmos are still unplayable.I guess it’s an issue with the Series X? Has this been confirmed?I know I could turn Dolby atmos off for games but that defeats the point of me buying a Sonos beam with Dolby atmos. 

Good morning. New to this forum.I have purchased a Beam 2 and hooked it up to my Sony Xr55a90j Works fine but with HD terrestrial channels e.g. itv, c4 and bbc HD because the sound format is different to standard def the volume is quieter. For normal about 30 works for me but change to an HD channel and have to increase to 40 at least.Is there any way round this?Also is there any way to power save the beam off. Ideally would be nice to switch it off and on with the Sony remoteThanks
