Google Assistant and Sonos

Hi… I‘ve had a Roam for awhile now and it has worked great. I had it set up with Alexa. I keep it sitting on the Sonos charging pad. When I’m using it, it’s usually off the pad. When finished, l leave it off the pad. It goes to sleep in about 30 minutes. And it stays in sleep mode until I’m ready to use it again.A few days ago I set it up to use Google Assistant. Everything seemed fine. But now I’m noticing when I leave it off the charger and it goes to sleep, it will wake itself up (status lights go on). I didn’t do anything. It will go back to sleep after 10 for so minutes, but it seems to come on again by itself at some point. Over the course of a day, I think this is happening over and over, and this behavior is causing the battery to drain. To test, I kept the Roam next to me (not on charger) while I worked. It went to sleep. But about 30-45 minutes later, I heard a Sonos One (with Google Assistant) I also have in the room beep on it’s own (not because it heard the wake phrase… I

On my Sonos One Gen2, when I set an alarm, google says it is setting the alarm for the time I specified. Then I ask her what time it is set for, and the answer is 3 hours later than I said, and snoozed to the correct time that I requested for the alarm. Google answers the time and time zone queries correctly. I can find no setting to correct this. Thanks for the help.

Using a Sonos Roam speaker with Google set up, I cannot play music from music services.  If I set my default music provider to either YouTube, Spotify, or Apple Music, and then say 'okay google, play the Police' I get the following:"Okay playing the artist The Police on YouTube Music" "Sorry it looks like you haven't set up your account on that media service provider yet"But all my settings in Google Assistant look correct? Note: that I can ask for the time, I can also play music from TuneIn, something about the other services is busted?

I have various voice activated Sonos speakers, and control a lot of my music via a “Hey Google” command.I also have an Amazon Unlimited subscription, having recently closed my paid Spotify account.However I have not found a way to access Amazon via the “Hey Google” voice command.  If, for example, I say “Hey Google, play The Beatles”, she’ll head off and play a series of songs on a free Spotify (with advertisements) service.  I don’t seem to be able to set a default to get that service to go to my Amazon account instead.Any clues??

I've had Sonos for a few years now, always a Sonos Beam in my living room and a Sonos One in my bedroom, with Google assistant added. And I've always had the ability to say "Ok Google, play Duo mix on Spotify" and the Sonos that heard me, would play without any issue. But recently, both my living room and bedroom sonos' are insisting I declare which Sonos I want the music to play in. If I don't say "in my bedroom" it won't play and I have to start the voice command over. It's a small detail that is a bit annoying. If I'm 3 feet away from the bedroom sonos', you're obviously the one I want music to play on, the living room sonos didn't hear me or activate to listening mode.Why did this change, and is there a way to change it back?

Would really like to expand my Sonos system but thus far no support in Colombia? 

I have google nest mini and Sonos one. I cant use “ok google” let Sonos play music.But I can play music thought Spotify app , Sonos app , Mac app. Steps to reproduce(speak to google nest mini):1, Ok google,play music on Sonos.2,Ok,play Spotify music on Sonos, sorry, This device does not support this feature. Steps to reproduce(speak to Sonos one):1,Ok google, play music on Sonosdoesn't respond.but if I ask weather or time, it worked. I changed my google assistant default audio device to Sonos, it also doesn't work.

Looking for an update on this issue.  My endless search of the internet resulted in the question above not being addressed.  is there a resolution to this?  If not, do you have an expected ETA? 

When I give my Beam Google Assistant a command to play music, it plays on my Play:5 instead.  The Play:5 sits below the Beam and is inputed from a turntable to play my old LPs.  That works fine.  The Beam is connected via ARC to my Samsung TV and works fine for TV audio also.  Both speakers are in the same room, with the Beam on the top shelf of the media center and the Play:5 below it.My question is: Why does a music voice command on the Beam play music on the Play:5 instead?  Also, why I cannot control the volume of the Play:5 from the Beam voice command.  I have to touch the Play:5 buttons to increase or decrease the volume.Thanks,

Spotify volume becomes quiet and unchangeable after I use the Google Assistant on my Arc. I use Spotify direct cast and it will work normally (I can change the volume in Spotify app, Sonos app, or speaker volume buttons) until I use Google Assistant. Then the volume becomes quiet and I can’t change it using any method until I unplug the Arc. I can still change the volume of TV and Google Assistant voice responses, just not Spotify. Has anyone experienced this? Any ideas how to fix?

I am need of some support.  To clarify I have had number of Sonos speakers and google home devices for over 5 years I think so am familiar with both technologies and their capabilities however I have recently purchased an Arc which is the first sonos speaker I have owned with built in assistant capabilities.I have set it up and the “hey google” wake word works 99% of the time regardless of how loud the speaker is this is fine.  However I have found the actual voice recognition is very hit and miss.  I have been doing some experimenting and to remove variables I only use a single voice command during testing “activate the movie scene”.  I have found that this probably works less than 50% of the time.  When it doesn’t work it is not miss understood, the speaker simply ignores the command completely.  Sometimes it only detects part of the command but sometimes it is the start of the command or the end of the command but never the bit in between or misinterprets the words.  Furthermore I h

I have Sonos devices in two homes. Both homes are included in my Google Home app. However, i am only able to install Google Assistant in one of those homes. Each time I install it in one home it unlinks from the devices on the other home and I need to do all the installing again.

Hey y’all. I have a Sonos Play:5 (Gen 2) set up in my living room and I recently purchased a Google Nest Mini (Gen 2) to control it. I’ve set everything up to the point where I can tell the Nest to do things like pause and start music on the Sonos, but when I try to command the Nest to play a specific artist / genre / playlist etc. (e.g. “Hey Google, play jazz on Sonos in the living room”), it replies with the following error message: “Sorry, it looks like Apple Music isn’t currently supported on the living room”. I have set up Apple Music as the default music service on the Nest, and have logged into the same Apple Music account on both devices. I’m a bit puzzled by the error message, since I’m pretty sure I was able to control Apple Music on the Sonos via the Nest at an earlier stage of setting the two devices up. Hi All,I hope someone can help me. I am trying to get Google Assistant to turn on a particular radio station (RTE Radio 1) on my Sonos.The strange thing is that it finds it and plays it on Google speaker but when I set the Sonos as default speaker it does not work. “Said turn on RTA Radio 1“Sure, RTÉ Radio 1 from TuneIn. Playing on Kitchen…Sorry, I can't find what you asked for….”I am not having this issue with any other radio channels I listen to. These speakers are good enough.In a world where interoperability is the norm, Sonos just doesn’t cut it.  I can’t get my TV audio to stream wirelessly.I can’t get my other non-Sonos speakers to play at the same time as the Sonos.  If you have other Google home devices, don’t pay extra for the Sonos One’s with the assistant integration--they don’t integrate. You can only reinstall the music services and they will not work the same.  I don’t know what the point of that is.  Actually, the point is to likely to try and force Sonos users to buy only Sonos speakers.  But the world isn’t like this in 2022.  I hope the Product Owner was replaced and there are plans to actually make these work in a connected home with other devices.  The speaker quality is 6/10 for the price.  I might replace them with the Klipshe. 

The Sonos app says Google Assistant is not available in Australia but the Sonos website says it’s available. Has anyone been able to add Google Assistant to Sonos Arc?

Really annoying that Apple Music doesn’t show up as one of the options to choose when being asked to choose music service in google Assistent. Only YouTube Music and Spotify are to be chosen. I don’t use neither of those. When is this going to be adjusted? I’m very disappointed that Sonos have these shortcomings.

I don’t really understand why I can’t use Google Assistant with Sonos when I can use it with Android. One of the reasons buying a Sonos product was it’s Google Assistant support. I found the list of supported countries: https://support.sonos.com/s/article/3491?language=en_US When will Hungary be added to the “coming soon” part and when can I expect it to be supported?

Hi,I've been trying to set up Google assistant on my two Beams.Neither of them allow me to turn the Microphone on.I have successfully added Google assistant to my Sonos One.Although I can turn the Microphone on for my Move, I cannot add the Google assistant to it either.Any tips would be greatly appreciated before I submit a support ticket.All of my speakers software have been updated.Thanks.

I’ve seen a few questions on this subject, but they all appear to be at least a year old.I just specifically purchased a One SL and paired it to a Google Nest Hub Max so I could use voice commands for Apple Music, but even that doesn’t work.Is there a timeline for fixing this?

I’ve just switched from Alexa to Google Assistant on my Sonos devices. Previously I could for example “stop bedroom music” spoken to any Sonos device, and it would stop the music currently playing on the device ‘Bedroom’ With GA, it only controls the music on the device I speak to, regardless of me specifically stating Bedroom. Am I missing something?  I assume GA can do this?!

I’ve noticed a large conversation around getting "Support for Apple Music with Google Assistant”, whereby people were frustrated that Google Assistant on Sonos doesn’t support the ability to play music from Apple Music at this time. I just wanted to make people aware that they can workaround this limitation, albeit in a very limited capacity, by using IFTTT to play a specific "Sonos Favourite" you’ve already “Added to your My Sonos” app home screen area.Requirements: You’ll need to first have a basic IFTTT account with Google Assistant and Sonos added as Services. And you’ll need to have already added what you want Google Assistant to specifically play (ie a playlist) to your My Sonos area by selecting it in the Sonos app and choosing the option "Add Playlist to My Sonos".  Steps: You then “create” a new applet in IFTTT that uses Google Assistant service for the "If This" part choosing "Say a simple phrase” to trigger it. I have scoured these forums for different solutions here but to no avail. I have a Sonos Arc soundbar set up and added to my google home. The devices it created in the Home were “Sonos TV Control Soundbar” and “Soundbar”. I enabled the google assistant and it works great with my account. My wife is using iOS, and also has google home installed on her device.  we have a google mini speaker that will recognize her voice and mine as separate, which is the desired result. On her account, when you go to the voice match settings, the Sonos soundbar is not listed as an available device to use with voice match.  There is an option to add a new device to voice match which i tried.  I had to log back into my sonos account and confirm adding the devices. After I did this, I now have two “Sonos TV Control Soundbar” and “Soundbar” devices on my google home, but voice match does not work for her account, nor is it listed as an option for voice match in the google app.   We are both managers on the a
