Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

I have 4 Sonos amps and 4 pairs of Sonance by Sonos speakers.  2 pairs are older and are detectable by the amps and 2 new pairs are not.  The 2 pairs that are not detectable are brand new out of the box.  The amps are from Sonos and the speakers were from Amazon so there is no question about authenticity.  Why aren’t the speakers detectable?   I haven’t been able to find an answer here.   

Hello there,I have an issue with my Sonos setup (or i think it maybe a Sonos related problem).I have a 5.1 setup, Beam gen 2, 2 ones and a sub mini connected to my Samsung TV. I use Netflix and Viaplay to watch movies. Recently I have noticed that when playing movies in Viaplay it only ouputs 2.0 so no bass and no surround (it has worked before we had a power outage). The info states that the output audio is Dolby Audio, doesn’t specify 5.1 or 2.0. But there are some movies that are new so i assume the are in 5.1 format. Jumping directly to Netflix without shutting down the tv or Sonos system, everything works fine, Dolby Atmos, Dolby 5.1 etc.I read in another forum that this could be a Viaplay issue but then again in other forum that this is definetly a Sonos issue. On the TV i have audio output to Auto, tried the different options but no luck.What could cause this issue? I though that Sonos upscales to 5.1 or at least to 2.1? When watching movies in Viaplay i don’t even have bass fro

We have been very patient with Sonos to fix the app that controls the Sonos system.The app frequently disconnects and cannot find the speakers. When it is connected trying to change the volume is either very very slow or will not work. Same goes for trying to change the channel.Will Sonos ever do a proper job and have a working full functional app for their system, or should we give up with Sonos.?

Tried linking Music library in Imac and system says not able as firewall settings preventing. Looked at Firewall and does not seem to be so as setting seem fine.

I have arthritis and the volume slide bar is so small and I only adjust from 10 to 20 which is the first 1/16 of the slide bar. Is there a way I can just type the volume number in? Or can I make the slide bar bigger? Or have a plus or minus buttons to adjust the volume?

We have a site wifi setup at a caravan park.We have a Play 5 Gen1.All working with Sonos S1 app.Site internet and wifi has gone offline before and sonos network recovered OK.This time S1 app not connecting.Router reset (many times).Ended up performing reset on Play 5 and attempting to set up as a new system.All goes well until it sets up the sonos network.When I return to enter the local network details, the sonos app locates many other routers but not mine.So I type in details manually.It keeps telling me it can't verify the password for the router or that the router password is wrong.Been through this setup process repeatedly a few times with same result.Password is 100% correct.Two TV, two iPhones and apple laptops all connected to router - no issues.Any help on this would be seriously appreciated. 

Hello currently building a custom sauna, and I wanted to install Sonos speakers in the sauna. it’s been impossible to get a direct answer from Sonos whether or not they make speakers that can withstand the humidity and heat of a sauna. Does anyone know if you can use Sonos speakers in a sauna? When I did a chat with customer support, they said they don’t have any products they recommend, but I’ve seen lots of people have Sonos products in their sauna

I have a personal playlist on Amazon Music Unlimited of approx 300 songs. Whilst it can be loaded into Sonos via the Sonos App if shuffle is selected only 200 tracks are queued (recent additions to the playlist are not included in the shuffle). Is this a known issue that will be fixed in future?

I found a Playbase with a broken Wi-Fi module on eBay for cheap. The seller says it still works fine over Ethernet.Unfortunately, my Wi-Fi router is in a different room and I don’t have any access points to extend the signal. However, I have a Play:3 located near where the Playbase would go. Would it be possible to daisy-chain the Playbase to the Play:3 via Ethernet so it can join my system?Thanks in advance!

Wondering from the community if you’re experiencing the same problem. My setup is using an AppleTV direct to a TV, Arc or Arc Ultra connected to the ARC HDMI on the TV. Starting the YouTube TV from the AppleTV and having a channel that has 5.1 audio, the Arc and Arc Ultra decode 2.0 even though 5.1 is being sent (verified by using stats for nerds on the YouTube TV App). Changing the channel on YouTube TV, the Arc and Arc Ultra decode 5.1 and even changing back to the original channel, it now decodes 5.1. I’ve verified this behavior on two different brands of TVs and the 3rd and 2nd generation AppleTV 4k. Spend 1.5 hours with Sonos support that confirmed this issue yesterday and wondering how many other people have noticed or solved this. Appreciate your insight!

hey! I have a set of Era 100s, one of them just loves to disconnect, i’ve tried literally every solution!! i just don’t want this to keep going on daily. it often just say (room name) then “disconnected” i have factory reset like 3 times, they are finally working, do you think it could be the voice assistant i think it’s kicking me off the wifi or something, im dying for answers because these speak are awesome… WHEN they work!

This is the setup I have and when I watch a movie or music above 65 the amp turns off and restarts  I have volume limit turned off. Any suggestions as to what I did wrong in this setup? Thanks!

I have 2 Sonos Gen 3 subs, one works great, the other developed a rattle with low bass and is blown (sounds like a fart) (which I didn’t think could happen, didn’t have the sub volume up too much, just at (+3). Called CS and after tweaking and updating, they agreed it’s defective. The problem is the only solution is to send it back and buy a new one with a 30% discount (but the subs cost $799). So my sub lasted 2 years without any abuse. That is disappointing. Should I buy another sub or is this common?

Hello, I have issue with Airplay with Era 100 on my macbook (M2), ipad and iphone. The speaker are seen but when i try to stream i get an error “could not connect to xxxx” I can use the sonos app and stream tunein without any problem.I have all os up to latest version and trying restarting everything and same issue,How can i solve the problem ? Thanks

I had to change my rooms.So my Sub, Playbar and two Play1 have been reset to factory defaults so I could do it properly.But when I connect them the process takes a very long time and I get the message: The product has been added, but may not be visible. Please unplug and fix it in system settings.But it doesn't work and a new group (Living Room) is just created. Question:1. Can I delete these rooms (Living Room)2. Can I delete speakers and then add them again, as a new speaker  

Currently building a house and am setting up my 41’ x 18’ L/R, D/R, Kitchen with Sonos.  I have an Arc Ultra going over the FP, base next to it.. Thinking (2) 6” in ceiling speakers for rears but debating kitchen/dining room area.. 2 diagrams attached.. was going to go with number 2 but now considering number 1 in Mono mode.. thoughts?  not putting over the dining room table, chandelier.. Hello AllI do enjoy movies with my sonos beam + surround devices where Atmos is available. When it is not, such as with dolby digital 5.1 or 7.1, it is just day vs night. Here the sound seems low, quality not good i need increase volume up to 75% while 30% is enough with Atmos soundtrack. So i was wondering if I missed something in my beam or surround configuration ? Thanks all for your support. David

I owned a Sonos Move for a couple of years. I frequently used it on travel and it was simple/reliable when trying to toggle to bluetooth mode, even for pairing to a new device. I recently upgraded to the Move 2 and have experienced significant issues when away from my home wifi.My Move 2 lives on it’s charging dock when at home. When I prep for travel, I take it off of the dock, power it off, and pack it. When I arrive at my destination, I turn it back on, press/release the bluetooth button… and within 1-2 minutes, the unit has not shown up in my scanned bluetooth devices and starts blinking a green light indicating a factory reset.After the second time it did this, I reconfigured the device after I arrived home, toggled to bluetooth mode and successfully paired to my bluetooth device. No factory reset, but also no removal from doc or power off/on.I understand that the Move2 requires wifi for initial setup, but is there also a restriction for when/how to pair via bluetooth?

If you are missing the Alarms tab in the iPhone iOS app normally found in Settings, here is one possible reason and solution:Location permissions is off therefore the Date & Time time zone is not set. This will result in the Alarms tab disappearing from your system settings. You can either set location permissions to either “while using the app” or “always on” in your iPhone settings  OR manually set your time zone, within the Sonos app, in the Date & Time tab found under Settings/General Settings/Date & Time.  It took me hours using Chat support and Phone technical support (including uninstalling and reinstalling the app, restarting my iPhone, trying to set up Alarms on my laptop Sonos app (which did not work), sending diagnostics, amongst the many other failed attempts to resolve this issue) before I discovered the solution myself.  Hopefully this will save someone else hours of grief.   

I have an Arc and two Era 100’s that are set up as surrounds in my living room. When I stream music everything works fine. However when I watch a show, movie, or anything besides music the main audio switches from the arc to the right Era 100. The left Era 100 plays no sound. I’ve tried resetting my comcast device, removing the 100’s as surrounds, resetting them and adding back into my system. I’ve tried calling customer support and both times they have me do the same things over and over again and nothing changes. Does anyone know what is causing this problem or do I just have a bad speaker?
