Dual Sub4s with Era300 (no soundbar)

So, as I’m waiting for the Arc Ultra to arrive, I stereo paired the Era300s and then added one Sub4.
I then saw I was able to add the second Sub4 to the stereo pair.

From what I read this shouldn’t be possible unless I had an Arc.
And yet here I am, with a stereo pair of Era300s and two subs.
A bug of the app? A new feature not documented?

Are the Era 300s definitely a stereo pair and not just grouped, with a Sub assigned to each separate speaker?

Can you post a screenshot of how the 4 products appear in the app?

That is very odd, don't recall seeing it mentioned before. Hope someone from Sonos sees this!

Could be either.

Thanks, not with my system just now to try myself, but yes that’s a stereo pair with dual Subs!

Probably a bug as if it was a new feature, you’d expect some official announcement or mention in the release notes.

Do both subs produce low-end frequencies when playing music? if not then it’s definitely a bug of sorts. If they are both producing low-end it could be that your controller sone how downloaded a feature not yet announced. I’ve seen/experienced this before when something got crossed in the server and I received an update not intended until another release. This happened with Apple not Sonos.

Yeap, plays perfectly, trueplay, a proper second sub. I just read on a local forum it has been verified by another user too, so it seems era300 now supports dual subs (it seems it works with Sub4 only, not prev gens)

A couple of months ago, I vaguely recall a user here adding a Sub and Sub Mini to a stereo pair of Era 300s, but believe they used a 3rd party app for that rather than the Sonos app.

Only 2 Sub 4s or a Sub 4 and an older Sub?

Still waiting for the app to be available to my system or I'd try it and see.

Dunno about a mix, but two Sub3s don’t work, two Sub4s do.
And it works for Era100 too!

Hi @philosopher

Welcome to the Sonos Community!

Thanks for reporting this - it is somewhat curious. Could you please submit a diagnostic report and let me know here when you have done so (without posting the number, please)? Thanks!
