Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

I am well aware of the issues with trueplay tuning after the new update. I have a beam + 2 era300 and I am wondering if anyone from you got the same error message at the end of the first stage like me saying: “an error occurred and we couldnt tune Room. Please try again”…. I feel that all of you have other but common issues with trueplay and maybe my problem is of another nature…anyone with such message after the new update of the app?

Hello anyone able to suggest how to resolve on going issue we are experiencing loading any content from Apple Music or Spotify since the last Sonos update? Our system worked perfectly for 4 years and now nothing works? I get an error message unable to load content / something went wrong? We have logged in and out, tried to reboot the system, nothing.   We have stable internet service and most speakers are hardwired to our central components HELP? 

Hi all. Any views on why, everytime I open the App, it takes up to 15 mins for Sonos to list “My Sources” in the App? Actually I’m not sure how long or when it appears but eventually it does.   My Sources being my NAS/Library.  Meantime it is playing FLAC files from the NAS. Ie. The ones previously in the queue.  I cannot add others.   & can you make “My Sources” the top, main and only option? I’m seriously on edge of flipping back to Blusound equiv and selling the Port. After all, it’s only ‘remote balance control’ that’s keeping it in place but I think I’ve had enough of the hassle. June update was supposed to fix this NAS access nonsense.  

Hi all... the Victrola seems to have good reviews, however I am unsure of the quality. Project told me straight out that wifi is less reliable but people have not said this with Victrola. So would the issue be that the Project T2 W is just not as 'modern' in it's setup?I am also curious about the cartridge quality:* Victrola - Audio Technica AT-VM95E or Ortofon OM5E* Project - Ortofon 2M Red

Sonos skips over almost all my songs. It doesn’t matter if they are “purchased” on iTunes or “matched” or any other “Cloud Status.”And, yes, I’ve re-authorized Apple Music, and de-authorized and authorized again, and reinstalled the (new and incredibly crappy) Sonos app on my iPhone, and done the same on my computer..And I’ve spoken to the Sonos phone support… and after talking for 15 minutes to someone who didn’t  even know what “Cloud Status” was — SONOS, HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE? THAT’S YOUR TECH SUPPORT? — I spoke to a “senior” tech person who said:“Yes, we know we have a problem. And our engineers are working on it.”(REALLY? AND YOUR TECH TEAM DOESN’T KNOW IT?)“And we will call you back and email you once it is resolved.”(THIS👆I SIMPLY DO NOT BELIEVE WILL EVER HAPPEN.”.IT IS TRULY STUPEFYING TO THINK THAT SONOS RELEASES APPS AND MAKES CHANGES TO THEIR SYSTEM THAT IS INCOMPATIBLE WITH APPLE MUSIC. I am trying to Connect a sonos One sl.  and i Get this message (see image below)it is connected but doesnt show in the app. When i unplug and plug again it just asks me to Connect all over again. i can however Play music directly from the Spotify app. It shows up as «unknoown room»  

I’m confused about how the Sonos Amp handles line-in for a 2x Amp setup for 4.1 Surround. I have it plugged in and it works, but I don't see the source level in the new app. Customer support says that both Amps line-in are disabled, but I thought it was just the Amp that is powering the surrounds. Does the source level appear in the old app? It doesn’t appear now.

Now that the ‘Play in another room’ option has been taken away by Sonos on this hideous app, does anyone know how to play an alternative playlist on another device? I have done it once but can’t for the life of me do it agsin!Anyone know the process?? Thank folks!!

Hi,I have buy a sonos roam SL this week.I have well run setup and i had have thé confirmation that thé device is connected to wireless network AT home. I see it under routeur dhcpd leases and i Can ping it's IP adresse fromage my phone.Infortunately, Always thé same message fromage your application that no device on this networkI have thé diagnostic number *************.Could you please check quickly ? Am I missing something with the new app. I don't seem to be able to play different songs in each room. I see a check box for each room and if I unselected room a to select room b to play different music, room a stops. 

Hi , I have a Sonos ONE and i have the opportunity to buy the Era 100 at a good price.But i wanna know if it’s good to paired One and Era 100 for the surround. Thanks

No matter what I do to my play:one speaker I’m unable to locate it with the S2 app. What is the trick here? I previously gone through dozens upon dozens of resets on the speaker and now the speaker is unable to be located with this new S2 app or the prior S1 app, which simply redirects me to the S2 app. For those of us not following the minute by minute Sonos app/speaker changes, what is the trick to getting this to be recognized with the new mobile app?

So the ZP-80 sounds clean and if it comes on can play well for an hour or after few minutes will drop out for half a second every few seconds way about 10 times and then go silent.  Might stay silent for a very long time and randomly jolt in a few seconds and then gone again.  Sometimes it fades away quickly but less often.  Rapid wiggling of the App volume can sometimes make it start to work whilst the volume is being agitated but stops and indeed fades away as soon as you stop doing that.Loud gain doesn’t improve anything or jar it into working and it doesn’t behave like dry joints.  I have read through forum topics and have done a hard reset on the ZP-80.  Turned off the router and all devices and then turned the router on first and the Sonos’ afterwards.  Have altered MAC addresses and DNS of nearby Xbox.  Not getting anywhere.  A 2nd ZP-80 plays mostly fine. 4 other Sonos devices are solid.  ZP-80 was 1m away from the router through a wall.  Moved it 3m away to try proximity issue

My Sonos system, used mainly for good TV sound  has been working for years until the latest software update. I have followed the discussions and the suggested fix, selecting the TV source from the Sonos app. However it’s not working for me. The TV keeps reverting to its own speakers as it says there is a problem with the “Audio System” I have tried every possible solution but I am still frustrated. Any advice would be appreciated.

I was on the chat yesterday and they told me I could hide the second one but that feature is not available right now but will be coming back. My question is there a way to completely remove from my system?

Had a play 3 for years. It was amazing, almost magical. The app worked great, sound and song selection from my buttons/lockscreen - and it worked flawlessly. Always. Now I’m so frustrated I’ve created an account to vent. For the last several years Sonos is almost unusable. More so w the latest app. Like a minute or two to change an Apple Music et al playlist. Want to change the volume? 10-20 seconds before the app finds the Sonos, connects, figures out what song is playing, then allows me to change volume. Every time. Not just the latest Sonos app, the last two iterations for sure. the only thing is the sound - it’s really good. If I switch to play 5 I think I get Bluetooth and AirPlay - does this mean I never have to use the useless app? Instantaneous controls like every other f’ing speaker out there? fyi it’s not a network issue. I move the play 3 everywhere and it doesn’t matter. Nor do I have an issue with any other device. Ever.  apologies for the long rant, just fed up and Sonos 

I recently purchased a Sylvox outdoor TV and am having issues connecting a Sonos soundbar to the TV. I have tried connecting my Beam (through HDMI) and my Ray (Optical Digital) and neither works. I currently have my Ray connected with optical digital. Within the app I have TV Autoplay enabled for this speaker. When I select ‘TV Setup’ I am told to connect the optical digital. When I click continue, the app says ‘checking connection’ and comes back with an error saying ‘no signal detected’. When I connect the two devices, I first plugged into TV, and before plugging into soundbar I confirmed the TV is sending a signal (red light). Any suggestions? I will be bummed if I am unable to connect these devices. The sound from this TV is not great. 

Why does the microphone not turn on on my speaker?

Hi everyone,I've recently upgraded from a Sonos Playbase to a Sonos Arc, paired with two Sonos Play:3 speakers. While the overall sound quality is impressive, I've encountered an issue where dialogue is more pronounced on the left side of the Arc.Upon researching, I found that this might be a common problem related to the placement of a tweeter on the left side of the Arc, which affects voice output.Has anyone else experienced this? Are there any known solutions or upcoming software updates that could address this voice imbalance?Thanks for your assistance!

Seems I am not alone with this issue:Sonos App on MacOS running Catalina 10.15.7.Cannot add any of my own music library.I have an ’offline’ library of around 50,000 songs, originally in managed in iTunes, and now in Apple Music, on the laptop. I do not run any streaming. And the music is stored on an External HDD. (Although I believe the library ‘database’ remains in the internal HD, in user/music. The library is shared in MAcOS settings.) Downloaded the latest app - Sonos_79.1-53290.dmg and installed it. Head to Manage Music Library and click add music folders + sign. So far so far.Here’s where it gets interesting: click on ‘My Music Folder’, and the whole app simply freezes, and has to be forced closed.Click on Add ‘another folder or drive connected to my computer’, browse to the same folder Apple Music points to on the External drive, enter (my) administrators details, and for a good 10 minutes, it spins the disc, with ‘please wait, adding share information ton Sonos System’, follow

I have tries to reset my Roam using the 15-25 second on button press and then charging with a USB-C 5V x 3A = 15W charger fir 30 minutes. I have attempted 6 times with no luck resetting. HELP?

I have been unable to use my iPhone 11 as well as now my newer iPhone 11 to control my system.  It has been about 12 months now not working.  The desktop app is working okay.  I have done everything to troubleshoot. I have restarted my network several times by unplugging the router, I have factory reset the speakers several times as a last resort, I have deleted and redownloaded the app about 10 times and made sure my privacy settings was set to allow sonos.  My network hasn’t changed any settings.  The app connects to my system and recognizes all of my devices and occasionally it will let me start some music but then I can’t control the volume or stop the music.  I am using version 2 of the app and all my speakers are compatible. I have been unable to reach sonos support for help.  Any advice or help is much appreciated. 

Many people seem to have had a problem with trying to change the name of a speaker, and finding that the name reverts to it's original. Most solutions offered suggest adjusting settings in Apple Home or HoimeKit. But I had this problem even though I don't use Apple Home. Sonos support werent able to help, but I think I've found a solution.You need to use a mac connected to your iphone or ipad. In finder, navigate to Library/Application Support/Sonos/jffs/cached_hh. You'll find a file named Sonos– followed by a long alphanumeric. Open this file in text edit and use Cmd-F to search for the original name of the speaker. Change the name to the one you want to use. Close the file.That should fix it. It worked for me.Good luck,Colin White
