Have STR AN1000. Works with Sonos does not recognize Connect or 3 AMPs. 5 units in system- the receiver only recognizes a 3 speaker on wireless, Have tried wireless, LAN, eliminated switch by running LAN through connect to AVR. I am out of ideas. Thanks
Hi
Welcome to the Sonos Community! And, apologies for the delay.
Sorry to hear of the issues you’ve had with Works with Sonos. You may find the discussion here of use:
I hope this helps.
Thanks for the link. the problem I have is that the receiver does not recognize the sonos devices. Have tried different devices, routers, switches. I am using sonos connect and not port. Perhaps this is the issue although Sony support states that connect should work.
Hi
It really shouldn’t matter which Sonos units you are using.
My understanding (gleaned largely from the thread I linked - there’s very little documentation on Works with Sonos) is that the Sony units have limited resources available for scanning the network for the correct type of packets - it may be so busy listening to the Play:3s, that it is unable to listen for the Connect too. One way of testing this would be to temporarily turn off the Play:3s and other speakers to see if the Connect is then visible to the Sony device.
If there is a difference in how the Connect is connected to the network as compared to the Play:3s, I recommend also looking into this difference, and seeing if you can eliminate it in some way.
I hope this helps.
So I bought a second gen connect and after a couple hours of help from support was able to down grade to S1 and miracle- the Sony sees the new connect. It also sees a phantom connect that I can not eliminate despite reboots and resets. Unfortunately, the AVR will not turn on automatically when sonos is played. Uggh
Hi
Does the AVR have a 12v trigger input? If so, then the Port (the replacement for the Connect) can do that - though of course I’m not sure how useful that is to you now that you have bought a Connect!
It also sees a phantom connect that I can not eliminate despite reboots and resets.
I have to pass on this one - sorry. Perhaps it will disappear from the Sony’s settings after it not receiving packets from that device for a time? It may even be the same Connect, but from when that Connect was still on S2.
