Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

Since the new app was introduced, I for once finding it so difficult to play music on Sonos. It will play half way and then it just dropped or stopped. The speakers also disappeared, and the airplay to Sonos worked for a bit and then stopped.  I thought the new app will be user friendly and an upgrade should give the user a controller that you can use easily not spending lots of time trying to find where the speakers are..  I love Sonos and have had it in the last 12 years, and I am for once considering switching to other brand if the app is sh*t.I have never voiced any concern in the past, and the Sonos Team needs to up the game before losing a loyal customer    

can’t add sonos era 100 to system 

I have 6 connects here and 2 amps. I factory reset all of them. I Downloaded the s1 app and when it tries to set them up it says some of them run s2 sw and then wants to uograde me back to the pos app that doesn’t work.  does anyone have a solution. This is a unfunny joke thats been played on me by sonos for 5 yrs now. 

Hi, I recognize all the UI and feature complaints, also some of the new limitations imposed… and I can understand the uproar; but is the app as a controller and portal to the system just base functionally unuseable and unstable?  I’m having so many problems, and I can’t seem to see community concerns around simple functionality being crap too.   if it’s a yes, sadly, I’ll have to look into an alternative control software, and that sounds almost worse.  Please don’t troll me, I love my Sonos system, but I want to hurl it out a window lately.. thanks. 

How do I disconnect Sonos Play3 out of system?

I’ve been a Sonos customer for over more than 4 years now.Since last week, an error has appeared when trying to play Youtube Music songs. From iOS: I get immediately the announcement “Can’t decode codec”From Android: when playing an album, the first song usually plays. Starting from the second song of the album, the “can’t decode codec” error appears. 

I have 2 era 100's , can I either connect them with 1 era 300 or use them as surrounds to the era 300? 

I have an own Sonos system but when I try to connect to a friends Sonos system it can not find any system.In earlier version of the app this worked.My friends wireless network have the same namn.How I connect to my friends Sonos system?

All my content services have been removed (same on multiple iphones). The system will now not let me add any content services (so it pretty useless). I’ve rebooted, as well as signed out but it makes no difference. It just says unable to load content. I can play directly to the speakers from Spotify, but throught the Sonos app nothing works.

5 Play 1’s, a Play 5 and a subwoofer, all useless due to speakers dropping out, an unresponsive app and speakers that literally won’t stop playing (not all of them of course because you can’t get all of them to play together). I actually have to unplug speakers to stop the music. After a very frustrating 9 months of Tier 2+ support this Electrical Engineer is junking the whole system for a more analog replacement. Sonos has become a damn joke and I will disparage the product any chance I get. 

Whenever i turn my sonos one volume to max, it plays at maximum volume for a few seconds and then, automaticly adjusts its sound level to the equivalent of around 65% yet still displays 100%Factory resetting did not solve my issue, and after hours of searching i couldnt find a solution.

Hello here!What am I doing wrong? Every time I put my podcast or radio on pause on my computer (which happens tens of times per day) - even for just 3 seconds (e.g. i go and look for something in another room etc.), my Sonos ERA 300 shuts down. When I put the sound back on, it needs ~10/20 sec to air music again so I have to stick by my computer, go to my “setting” pick the ERA again and wait for the sound to come back, which is a hyper painful. It’s such a poor experience, I don’t use my ERA anymore due to that, and I think there must be a parameter I get wrong.How can I fix that to make sure the ERA does not put itself in sleep mode after a few seconds pause?Many thanks!

The Libby program will NOT start at the same point of the book.  The old APP did do this If I listen to a Libby book on JUST my phone for 1 hour and pause.  Then I move to the new Sonos APP, and choose the Libby Book - the book starts over. The Sonos Controller for PC version 16.2 STILL works correctly.  The prior Sonos APP did work as well.  The new APP does NOT work.

I have always loved Sonos and been using it for a decade now but the new app comes close to reducing me to tears. Does anyone know if there is a way to change it back to how it was, without having to go back to the original S1 please?  The rooms ‘apply’ function is a nightmare! I just cannot seem to get to grips with it.  I have sadly never seen such a regressive upgrade! Please please please, Sonos developers, do something to fix it! 

Its more of a statement than a conversation but i would welcome any input if i havent quite worked the system out since the update.I swapped from Bose to see what all the hype was about but soon realised i had a little more control with my Bose and the sound was on par in my opinion.I use Android and could bluetooth my phone Which contains a great music library from way back when..... no age jokes... haha.All i would like is to have nothing on my home page other than what i choose ie my favorites in the order i want them instead of what sonos think i should see.The option to put on it what you want should be standard, if this is possible and i havent quite got to grips with the system yet i would love to know.

It is not getting any better.The new app instead of improving as promised now it is in fact getting worse.We lost access to the system, the system states always shows up as unconnected, we try to update the network and nothing happens.We have now a set of speakers that we relied on and were part of our routine that do not do the basic function, playing music .So disappointing, how can an app upgrade go so wrong.

On my Play:1 first Gen. the light is not on. I’ve tried another outlet and changed the cable also. Also tried to push the Play bottum but nothing works and my Play:1 is not contacteble. 

I bought a full sonos system about 4 years ago and my god, it was awesome. Within minutes I had a great sound system working, fully controlled by my phone. Amazing! Since then, every time I get an update something breaks. What used to be easy to do years ago is now painfully hard.  I recommended sonos to my girl friend this year based on my experience, but she has yet to get her system working weeks after buying the product.  I tried to play music tonight and after 20 minutes, have had no success at even hearing anything.  Why would a company that offered such an awesome product go and mess it up? Is there an option to pay real money to get sonos to just stop updating their app? Seriously. Doing nothing would be much better than what they're doing.  What is wrong with this company and why can't they get this right? Kevin

I don’t know what you are experiencing, but from my point of view, Sonos took a perfectly good working app and screwed it all up.The new Sonos app almost makes my system unusable.   It rarely identifies all my speakers, rarely connects to the speakers I want it to, and, when I try to control the volume it is almost completely ineffective.Being a tech person, I know these are software glitches that can be easily fixed with some resources and effort but Sonos does not seem to want to do that.  Unless it is fixed, in a year or so when I choose upgrade my system, Sonos will not be on my list of options.

I am unable to add new content services. Trying to add BBC Sounds, Spotify and Amazon Music. In each case, I get redirected from the Sonos app to the provider to authorise the connection and am told that the service has been added successfully. But when I return to the Sonos app I get an error message saying the service has not been added.I am using the Sonos app on Android and have 2 Era300s in a stereo pair and a Play3  

When we try to open the new & improved (LOL) Sonos app it doesn't recognize the existing network, we have to clear the Sonos app and then try and open the app again, hopefully it will work, if not repeat the process  

Like many others, I’m having difficulties connecting my Sonos speakers to a Google Nest Wifi Pro mesh network.My Arc, Move, Five, and Amps are connected fine.  My Sub and two Ones aren’t.Tech support had me factory reset speakers, reconnect them, restart my Nest routers, round and round for about 5 hours, and eventually everything connected.  That was two weeks ago.  Today the Sub and Ones are off the network again.  I factory reset them and tried to re-add them but that failed.I’ve read the threads on this topic but they are all closed so I thought I would start this new one.Here are a couple details I think make my situation particularly difficult:Not all of my Sonos are close enough to each other to see the Sonos network, so I can’t rely purely on SonosNet.  Instead, I have wired two Nest routers to each other over a long distance.  All Sonos can therefore see my wifi network.  I also have Nest routers that are not wired together.

This business of trying to blame everything that’s not working with your Sonos on the S2 App refresh is getting out of hand. Missing features are a legitimate concern and should be brought to the attention of Sonos. However, there are other areas being thrown into the fray that are not warranted. Here are three (3) examples:1.     If the app is loading slow IT’S YOUR NETWORK AND/OR YOUR DEVICE.2.     If speakers are missing IT’S YOUR NETWORK AND/OR YOUR DEVICE.   3.     Interruptions with a streaming service is not and app issue (although Sonos may have to collaborate with the partner/provider as they post when they are down) it’s most likely a SERVER CONNECTION FAILURE.Interesting fact on #3. So I’ve reached out to support about this numerous times and the two answers I’ve gotten are:A) Move closer to your WiFi RouterB) The Sonos Move 2 Speakers cannot handle the bandwidth of Lossless Audio over WiFi. I’m sure these support agents have no idea what they’re talking about.  The issue is with the speakers themselves, and can be resolved by writing better firmware.To disprove the claim that I am too far from my WiFi router, I went ahead and upgraded my already top-of-the-line-but-several-years-old WiFi router to an even better one.  I’m glad I spent the money on it.  It’s a better router with superior configuration options for techy people like myself.  Same connectivity issues with my Move 2 speakers.  Everything else works great on it including my other Sonos devices. If the second claim is true (the speake
