Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

Hi, I have a problem with live internet radio. I had two favourite radio stations I used to listen every day and suddenly they both stopped working. It says 'something went wrong' when I am trying to connect to them. I have uninstalled Sonos app from my android phone and installed again but nothing changed. Switched all speakers and WiFi to rebut but still nothing. 

My Arc is connected via Cat 6 to my UniFi switch.  I also have Play 3 surrounds and a subwoofer in my system (NOT hardwired).  Does anyone know why UniFi would show both the sub and one of the Play 3’s today as hardwired “Fast Ethernet” connected devices, and on the same port!  Both of the devices IP address match what the Sonos app shows for each device.  This is strange.

By much floundering around on support threads, I’ve found out what an SMBv1 is, and discovered that’s what my PC running Windows 10 is using. That appears to be why I’m one of the many whose PC-stored Music Library has disappeared from Sonos, which as we all know discontinued support for SMBv1.I’ve wasted two hours between Sonos chat and phone support trying in vain to get my music folder shared again with Sonos.  So I’m wondering if I upgrade from Windows 10 to 11, will I then be running the SMBv2 necessary to work with Sonos again? In other words, does Windows 11 run with SMBv2 by default? Thanks to anyone who can help.

I have a 13 speaker system. Switching songs is an issue with the speakers staying connected. They never come on all at once. They pop in and out of play. Its a long process to get them to come on all at once. What is my issue? 

I am thinking of purchasing Sonos surround sound system (ARC, sub, 2 extra speakers).  I want to access my music from my Buffalo Linkstation NAS.  I see that this is one of many problems due to the app update.Is this still an issue? Should I wait to purchase or buy now? 

After the latest app update (the one with the redesign), my Sonos roam was deleted from the list of speakers. I tried re-adding it, and it will not register. I have tried deleting and redownloading the app, factory resetting the Sonos roam, rebooting the router (mesh system), factory resetting the router, rebooting my phone (iOS). The app sees the Roam but says I will have to try registering later. The WiFi is flawless and all other devices in the house work fine. The roam worked fine the morning of the app update, so that appears to be the only change. 

I’ve been able to add my music library to my Windows 10 Desktop using the NAS device option.  I have a Windows 10 Laptop I use for a different Sonos system in a different location. I have the music library physically on both devices, with the folder sharing settings the same. When I try to add the music library to the laptop system I get the “Folder access denied” message.  When I transferred the music library to a flash drive I was able to add it to the Laptop system without a problem.  Any ideas why? Don’t want to have to leave a flash drive connected all the time.

I’m on a Mac, running Sonos Controller for Mac 16.2 / S2, Build 79153290.When Sonos released their new app, I lost the ability to connect to my 12 year old NAS that only has SMB1 support. I purchased a Buffalo Link Station (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JKM0A36?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1) which out of the box is configured to “Switch Between SMB2 and SMB1 automatically”. I uploaded a few songs to it just to test out, then pointed Sonos at the NAS drive share point, let it index, and I was able to play those songs. I then transferred the whole library there, about 70 GB, and Sonos said it couldn’t read it: “’//LS210D38C/share/Music’ is no longer available. The device where the music files are stored may not be powered on, or the path may have changed. Go to Settings > System > Music Library > Music Library Setup to check the path.” Since then I’ve trie removing the share point, changing the SMB protocol to SMB2 only, but no dice. Every time I add the new share,

I’ve invested thousands of pounds in my music collection I can no longer access it from my NAS. Why is this?

I have a Samsung Frame 2023 TV and a Sonos Beam (gen 1) everything is in sync except my Samsung 4K Blu-Ray player, no matter what settings I fiddle with the audio lags behind the video. Only on PCM is it in sync which sounds poor quality compared to Dolby Digital. Would a Beam 2 cure this with the eARC connection?  I don’t want to upgrade to it only to have the same lip sync issues

I have read the supposed fixes for the incredibly annoying issue with the Sonos Arc sounding going in and out.  It seems the only so-called fix is unplugging everything?!!!? Since I did that and it keeps happening again a few weeks or months later am I to just keep unplugging EVERYTHING each time?  Is this company serious? There must be a better fix or a class action lawsuit to get them to replace and or fix the issue completely?

So, it has been months since the upgrades, but with several mini updates. I am still having problems with sonos app and just want to check if this is common to others.App remains laggy.Volume controls are haphazard....master volume control does not work as expected...I have to use the manual controls on each speaker to get to the desired volume. Almost everytime i switch apps and go back to Sonos, it does not find the connected system and often takes as long as 3 minutes before it 'finds' the system and reconnects.These just makes the system unusable. I have 12 or so speakers and have been using sonos for over 15 years yet, this last few months have been my worst experience with the sonos.It is almost unusable....Defo not buying any more and seriously considering selling these and moving to something else.

Currently in Sweden with my Sonos Move but without its docking charger. Plan was to operate through USB-C charging only during the trip but it doesn’t seem to be working. Any ideas/advice from across the community. 

I’m not heavily invested in the Sonos ecosystem (owner of a single Roam), but I’m looking to extend my home audio setup and have been considering a couple of Era 100s.  The app debacle has me very worried though.  I even trialled an Apple Homepod for a week, but the experience with that was not good.  I don’t think Bose, Bluesound or other systems mentioned here are viable options either for a variety of reasons, so I’m still looking at the Eras.Anyway, my greatest concern is that Sonos is flogging a dead horse with the updates to its new app.  My biggest worry is its slowness, which absolutely destroys the user experience.  An app this slow at launch makes me think that the underlying software architecture is badly flawed.  I was a software developer for 40 years and occasionally heard an adage about developing systems: “first make it work, then make it fast”, which always riled me because the making it fast part never happens.  Speed and responsiveness have to be designed in on day z

Thank you sonos, it is now impossible with the new app to change the wifi network.I had to create a new account, re initialize and add again all the speakers…. Do the complete settings…. One word → bravo !

After the IOS version 80.05.04 was updated, any text box in Sonos App can only be entered through Japanese or English and could not be changed into Simplified Chinese which I could use previously, any solutions? Thanks!

My turntable is connected to an Era 100 via line-in. Since the latest update the autoplay function has stopped working, and my other speakers won’t play music from that source. I’ve spoken to customer support and they have no idea what the issue is.WTF is going on here? I though the latest update was supposed to improve things...  

I have a Sonos Arc connected to my LG B7 OLED TV via ARC (no e-Arc) . When watching Atmos content, the audio is behind the video. It’s driving me mad.I’ve looked online and there seems to be no mention. I know you can delay the audio but that would make it worse. 

I have 2 x Play1 and a sub in top system.And my playbar is in bottom system.How do i combine the 2 systems into one, or delete one of them, maybe playbar and reset and add it again. I have one system in one home on one network on a single router.This happened on this weeks system update..

I moved apartments and now the sub is not connecting to the Arc sound bar. However, I’m able to connect the sub to other sound bars. Arc is the only sound bar that the sub will not connect to. Here’s the most recent diagnostics code: *Can someone from support assist? Moderator Note: Diagnostic number removed.

Since updating to Sonos Controller for Mac 16.3 and 16.3.1, my grouped speakers randomly ungroup.I have a small home and group all my speakers except my Beam: Twice today and several times in the last few weeks, the speakers will ungroup themselves.Is this a known bug of Controller for Mac 16.3? My Mac OS is Sonoma 14.6. Or could this be a bug in the current Sonos app for iPhone?

I have a Sonos amp with speakers from two rooms hardwired into it. It’s been working great until recently. Now music only plays in one room, and I can’t figure out why or how to fix it. I’ve tried turning system completely off and also rebooting WiFi router and then the Sonos amp. This hasn’t worked. Any ideas? The amp shows up in my app, but I don’t see anywhere to select rooms or speakers. Can someone help me? 

I got the email about the new Sonos App on 5/9/2024 and updated the Sonos app on my iPhone 13 Pro and iPad (both of which I keep up-to-date with the latest software updates).I use Spotify as my music service and I have 347 different Spotify playlists. Unfortunately, the new Sonos App only shows me the last 50 playlists that I created, I cannot see all 347 Spotify playlists! Yes, I removed the Spotify service and then reinstalled it. Yes, I rebooted my iPhone and iPad. Nothing has worked for being able to see all my Spotify playlists. (Please do not tell me to recreate the playlists on Sonos, I will not do that.) FYI, the old Sonos app let me see all my Spotify playlists, and on my PC laptop running Windows 11 Pro I’m running the Sonos OS S2 version 16.1 application and that lets me see all my Spotify playlists. When will there be a fix for this on IOS? thanks

I have a beam and sub connected to my samsung tv in a media room. That set up works great. I have wired surround speakers and now want to integrate them using the sonos amp. How can I sync the wired surround speakers using the amp to my samsung tv/sonos beam/sonos sub?

Hi, I have two one sl in one room. I am trying to add an arc, sub and two one sl to a new home theatre room. I am unable to seperate the rooms and add the new speakers. Is this an issue with the new app or am I doing something wrong?
