Good Morning,

I want to go old school and hook up my sono’s one speakers to an onkyo stereo receivier. 1) can this be done and what would my hook up look like?

  1. i also want to hook up my turntable to the stereo receiver so the ol LP’s can play away…….thoughts?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Not easily. The Onkyo is an amplifier, the Sonos Ones are both self amplified, and do not have a line in for use. You could conceivably use a Port, designed for connection to amplifiers, usually via a line level out (like a tape output) to the Onkyo, and get whatever the amplifier is playing into the Sonos software, and then group the Ones with the ‘room’ that is the Port. That way, anything connected to the Onkyo, including the turntable, could play on the Sonos…but would be slightly out of sync with any speakers still connected to the Onkyo, due to the 75ms delay that Sonos has on line ins (mostly in order to sync with all other ‘rooms’, I suspect).

PORT would connect to the receiver as you would connect a cassette deck.
