Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

After recent updates, my neighbor is experiencing the issue Error Code 1002 now when attempting to add his Music Library- not the standard 913.  I have tried everything to resolve- checked firewall settings, etc., followed instructions to create the NAS folder that Salami Slices provided months ago.  My library works fine thankfully.  We both purchased new Mac and running Sonoma 14.6.1- when we switched to the new Mac’s, library would not play (access denied).  Added Music Folder back with Read/Write in File Sharing, SMB is “On” but his error code switched to 1002.  Mine worked fine.I read the threads on here but has anyone had any luck resolving the error?

I am having trouble getting the surround songs to work.  I had to reset all the speakers, they are now connected as a ‘system’ but only sound comes out of the Arc. The tv is set up as dolby as are the apps, doesn't matter what tv channel or programme I watch,  no sound.  I have reset the speakers about 5 times - it seems to be since I got a new router. I've also had to set the router up as 2.4GHz to actually get them all to connect.  Any ideas?

I used to have fixed output level on my Sonos  Connect but cannot find that setting anymore after the recent updates. I want to check if it still is available, even if I cannot find it, or if my conclusion that the option has been removed is correct?

Does anyone know to connect to Toronto jazz.fm91   ? tunein radio doesn’t seem to have it, despite what the station website says. Mytuner radio has it but it won’t play in the new sonos app for iPhone.  Thanks

Apple music skips and stops playing. All other services work fine.

With the new iPad os 18 my idle/sleep battery usage seems to be higher than it was under 17. Yes, I should know better and wait until a couple of point releases before upgrading 😂When looking at what was using battery and screen time I came across this unexpected entry. “Sonos S1 Controller”What is very unexpected is I don’t have the Sonos S1 Controller installed and never had, so is this the normal and a bug with the Sonos app misreporting itself to the iPad os?More curious is why is the Sonos app I haven’t run or opened since upgrading is reporting screen time usage daily with over 2 ½ hours of screen time this week? 

I followed the instructions by starflyergold and thecaretakerUK to get custom URLs into the new Sonos app. Playback works for a couple of minutes, with occasional short skips, but after about 10 minutes the playback stops intermittently for a half-second or so. I don’t know whether it has to do with buffering, playback speed or the skipping. Did anyone encounter the same problem? I realized this on my Sonos Roam, and several Sonos-IKEA speakers. Looking for a way to stream replay’s of BBC radio shows like Gilles, Benji, etc. through the Sonos app experience. I have been leveraging Airplay 2 for this, but has intermittent drops.Ideally, we’d be able to add log into our https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds account and replay all our saved radio shows via an in-app Sonos experience.Thank you for reviewing my request and love Sonos. PS - I appreciate the new in-app experience and the acknowledgement / transparency with which Sonos has handled the changes. Since it seems impossible to contact any support rep I will try this since it is the only option. I doubt if it will help.OK I don’t know why I should expect SONOS “Support” to work better than this horrendous release but it seems impossible to schedule 2nd level support with the link in the email I was sent.   As unusable as most of SONOS after the recent “Upgrade”Link leads to a bizarre page with no ability to select the day for a session and a list of incomprehensible times around the world.  WTF???This after wasting 2 hours last week in an unsuccessful attempt to restore access the the digitized music on my laptop that had been easily setup and used prior to the last “upgrade”How do you guys stay in business? 

Auto play for the line in of my Port is back in the app again. That’s great, and it seems to work. However it is not working as it should be. At least not how it worked before.It works all just fine when I played my music (with Spotify) and later (Spotify is paused/stopped playing) I turn on my tv which is connected to the line in port. Then the Port automatically starts playing the line in and changes the volume to the preset value.But now I have changed the Line in volume while watching tv. I stopped watching and after a while my Port auto pauses the line in. Great. But now, when later I start watching tv again, the Port only resumes playing the Line in and leaves the volume untouched. Why is that? Why isn’t the volume changed to the preferred setting for auto play?

This is all I get on my system. It was playing fine this morning but after going out to walk the dog I’ve returned to this. I’ve reinstalled the app and rebooted my router. After the reboot my system reappeared briefly but when I tried to play anything I got the “something’s gone wrong” and then it all disappeared again. Anyone having the same problem or know of a fix.Thank you. 

There can’t be much positive said about the new app, just watch the threads in this community and other relevant fora.On my OnePlus Nord CE 5G, the app most often just shuts down within seconds. When it does start, it knows nothing about my system. (clear cache sometimes helps, uninstall/reinstal also tried)I am a loyal Sonos customer with Sonos Arc Sonos Sub, Sonos Move, and Sonos One, and I feel the value of this big investment is drastically reduced without a working app.If you insist on this complete redesign of the App, why don’t you introduce it as a new app, and see if it catches on with the users, and leave the old version in maintenance - or perhaps make it open source for people to maintain in a democratic way.

It seems pretty odd, but only one radio station (WFMT) will not stream as of yesterday(09/14/24). Neither Tune-in or Sonos Radio will stream the station. Has anyone seen a single radio station drop out?  Any fixes?

I used Tunein on Sonos just yesterday.  Now none of my stations are working.  I updated everything and still nothing.  What’s going on?

Just about to retire my last ZP100 have got hold of 2x Play 3 to replace it and thought I’ll update to S2 was also thinking of getting a ARC as well but looking at the forum. It doesn’t seem a good idea.Did any one who used S1 and moved to S2 before the disaster update think of the differences?

Hi, I bought Samsung s95c tv and have been frustrated with connecting audio to Sonos arc.  I've been trying unplugging / plugging etc. No matter what i try, the audio drop out all the time. Seems that TV notice an error and switch back to tv speakers. Hdmi-cable is in eArc-connection in Samsung One connect box. TV diagnostic suggests to buy better cable, but i have the cable included in the Sonos arc package. I've seen similar issues, but is there a real fix for this problem available or can the reason really be the cable? Sonos Arc with same cable worked fine with previous TV. 

So I’ve just bought 2 Sonos Era 100s. The description suggested I could connect using either Bluetooth or wifi. I don’t have wifi - I tether from my phone, which is the cheapest option for me.I could not get the speakers to talk to one another without wifi so went to a friend’s house and set them up using his wifi. Worked perfectly and managed to pair them to get stereo.But back home that’s not working. I thought I only needed wifi for the set up and pairing - do I need a permanent wifi in my home?Super disappointed and didn’t think I’d be having this problem, so I’d be grateful for any help

Hi All,I have seen many posts in here about issues with Samsung TVs and Sonos ARC in the area of eARC, Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) and Dolby Atmos. Especially the TVs that have a “One Connect Box” like The Frame or the High End ones like my brand new Samsung S95C 77 Inch. Who would have thought, that after operating a 8 Year old Samsung UE65KS9080 9-Series 65” Curved TV flawlessly with the Sonos ARC for years, that I would run into such issues with the new high end Model from Samsung which literally costs thousands of Dollars. It also seems nobody has really found a long lasting fix for the issue or figured the root cause. Since the latest Sonos app change Sonos fails to find my iMac Music Library despite giving the path location.  I was told that by now Sonos would have fixed this.  Has anyone else had success?

I inherited a restaurant with a sonos system in place.  I don’t know what the speaker types are but they are all wired to an amp which is connected to 2 ports, one labeled for half of the restaurant and the other the opposite half. Issue is, they both control random speakers throughout the restaurant, one speaker doesn’t even seem to be connected..  There aren’t many, maybe 20-25 speakers max.  I don’t really need 2 seperate channels.. It’s too small a place to play 2 different sounds at once. That’s not all.. What had happened was.. the amp was not the right size for the power and was making some wild noises so a friend offered to swap it out for another that could handle the input. (I don’t know crap about this so bear with me on the terminology. I’m a chef.. I’ll filet you a fish or make you a souffle without batting an eyelash but I am probably going to sound like an idiot going forward). The speaker wires are all jammed into the available black and red wire spots

Sonos Connect seems to have ceased to work.

I tried resetting my sub by unplugging, press and hold power button, and plug it back in. The orange flashing light remains flashing. I called customer service and did the whole process mentioned above and still doesn’t work. Does it mean it’s broken? The rep offered me 30% off a new one if I returned it. I laughed at her and said I am not doing it. I want to fix this issue. Can someone please help? I have 2 Gen subwoofer. 

I was pleased to discover yesterday that the functionality to mute individual rooms (products) had been reinstated.  I tend to have all my products grouped together and mute and unmute them as I move around the house, as it’s easier than constantly grouping and ungrouping rooms.I’ve been experimenting with it today and it is completely useless, because whenever I change the group volume it automatically unmutes every product (unlike on the old app).How could anybody think that this is the desired behaviour?  Isn’t there anybody left at SONOS with a brain?
