Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

This is a basic setup question. Looking to use a Beam Gen 2 as the sound bar for my TV. I have in-ceiling speakers that will be powered by a Connect Amp (compatible with Gen 2) and it's main purpose is background music. Is it possible to group the 2 devices together and use the TV sound as the source for both devices (if I want to listen to the big game on all devices)? It looked like the only input sources (when grouping devices) were online services (e.g., Pandora, etc.), but I may have been missing something. 

 I have Sonos Arc, the mini sub, and 2 Era 300s in a surround system. They are connected, sound great, however Trueplay no longer seems accessible. Do I have to disconnect and start over? Thanks

Looking to add ERA 300 speakers to my surround sound, would like to install them on the shelf in the picture where the red circles are.  The speakers would be 10’ high, 10’ from the back of the sofa and 25’ from the TV (if that matters).  As you can see its an open floor plan with no good place to put them on the wall or on floor stands.  Would they be effective on that top shelf or am I wasting my money?    

Hi,I hope you can help me reset my Sonos Connect.After applying power with the pause button depressed, then releasing the pause button after about 15 seconds:the led flashes white/orange forever the led does not transition to green. the network port (cable connected) flashes so the switch and network is working.I have tried other combinations many times without success.Any ideas please?  ThanksRich

HiI have a Ray which was purchased in December 2023, working fine via Optical all this time but this morning it just would not output sound and I could hear a faint clicking/popping from it.Rebooted it, no change.Unplugged optical, still the sameReset it via the button and it seemed to discover it ok but then said it was added but would not be shown until I rebooted it, which I did and now its back to flashing white with a popping/clicking sound.Do I need to get it replaced?

Another Saturday where I’ve wasted at least 15 minutes messing with music. At least most of my dinner guest understand that Sonos is no longer reliable.Why has no one been fired? This is worse than the government… breaks stuff and takes forever to fix it...

My Roam product clearly is not working even with all the reset suggestions and power adapters etc the support is a complete run around and I am not happy at all with the amount of money and lack of performance when it did work. In its second year went completely dead. Why can’t this company realize it is loosing customers with this issue and take care of me. I’m feeling very disappointed and ripped off! 

when I select a playlist, e.g. Yacht Rock, the app simply rolls through the various artists without stopping on any one artist rendering the playlist unplayable. Has anyone else had this experience? Did you find a solution?

We have 3x Play 1s, an Alexa Play 1, a surround system with a playbar, sub, and 2x Play 1s, 2x Gen2 Amps, and 2x Gen1 Amps. Since the recent app update all of our speakers except one single play 1 have disappeared from the app. Occasionally they show back up but as soon as you try to select them to play musica they all disappear again. I can sometimes see them in Update Networks but they just continually show up there even after following the procedure. I have also tried completely resetting speakers and re-adding them to no avail. Our system is completely unusable right now.

We updated our router a few weeks ago. Our Sonos Systems (Play 3are having difficulty connecting to the Wi-Fi. We’ve tried rebooting, and it will, and Sonos One) l works for a nanosecond and then stops working again.  We are constantly rebooting the system or trying to hook to the router, but all have been unsuccessful. I tried calling Sonos customer service but was on the phone for an hour waiting for someone to answer.  I’m looking for suggestions for other things I could try. If it matters, we have Verizon.

I have a Music folder on my desktop that I am trying to add. This is on MAC OS.When I try to do this it says Sonos was unable to add the folder and access is denied?

I set up my era 100 at home with WiFi and ran trueplay as well as adjust the eq. I have since moved my era 100 to my office where I can only stream to it over Bluetooth. Am I correct in understanding that the trueplay and eq settings carry over from the last tuning? Since I’m streaming over Bluetooth and can’t connect to WiFi I have no way of adjusting the trueplay and eq settings at my office.  

Seems the TV Autoplay function on my ARC soundbar is not working consistently as I would expect.  When this feature is enabled, my assumption is any audio signal provided via HDMI to the Sonos ARC should take priority over streaming audio via the Sonos App (i.e., Spotify, etc.). This should in turn automatically switch the audio signal from streaming audio to HDMI when present.Curious if I have the correct understanding of how this functionality is suppose to work in practice? Hate the update and so do all of my customers. Been a strong supporter of SONOS and push their product but the update is horrible. Customers hate how difficult it is to use. It’s also glitchy and isn’t as fluid as it use to be. It never knows what product it’s connected to and changes on its own. Not to mention the update also seems to have created an issue with devices AirPlaying to them. This was a step backwards. Needs to be resolved ASAP. Trying to watch football now and the audio keeps cutting out while apple tv is air playing to play 5. Never an issue before update. FIX IT!!!

Why can’t you control Sonos from more than control?

Our entire home is filled with Gen 1 speakers that we run on the Sonos 1 app on our phones, as well as on my laptop.  My husband bought a Roam, not realizing it’s not compatible with the rest of our system. What’s the easiest way to initialize the Roam and use it simply as a bluetooth speaker that we can pair with other audio from our phones, independently of requiring the Sonos 2 app?  Hoping I make sense and thanks in advance!

We invested heavily in Sonos for our home - and frankly spoke highly of it to others. I have used your competitor C4 previously and wasn’t thrilled with its performance and found Sonos to be way more user friendly. Since the release this spring, we have no functioning system - and have contacted Sonos support to no help.  Basically we are being told we need to upgrade our network and all amps that was brand new in 2018!!? That’s insane. And you’re loosing business now to future customers who will not buy your products again because we don’t trust you won’t do this again? You need to earn back your customers by offering them a solution rather than just telling them to upgrade all their components again. Brutal - if Sonos is reading this hopefully, you’ll do something to right this wrong so customers can trust your brand.  

I have multiple alarms set to play music on my Sonos Move. All function as programmed but one. When the time for the alarm happens, the chimes play instead of the music. I have tried different music, changing the time by a minute, deleting the alarm and re entering an alarm; but it always plays the chimes instead of the music. Only for the 9:00 am alarm! I have the latest App upgrade. Any ideas?

I have 10 pairs of Polk Audio RC80i in my home, powered by 2 Sonos Amps and connected to a Sonos Port. When I stream music via Android’s YT Music directly to a Chromecast Audio that has as 3.5mm adapter to the Sonos Port’s Line-In, there are 2 major issues. (I don’t use YT Music integrated into the Sonos App because of latency and difficulty in navigating music)(1) I seem to get ads on my YT Premium stream (have a ticket with Google about this(2) Rather commonly, my music will cut out for what can be 10-30+ seconds at a time.This has mostly happened when playing my Zen playlist at very low volumes, but I’m not sure if this issue is part of the whole S2 debacle. I run a lot of Ubiquiti gear for my home network, but there’s no device/traffic-specific settings I’ve applied there in.Ideas?

  I paid over 18k to have this system installed.  I have tried all your suggestions. They don’t work.   The Boost which costs $188.00cdn doesn’t work with your updated app, so I have 30ft of ethernet cable running from two controllers as well as the sub.  Music drops all the time, volume controls are erratic and hijack the playbar, turns on the TV and all speakers engage, at one point the volume was on warp volume, took 2 hours to fix.   Everyday I spend at least 15-20 minutes sorting our the system.  Rebooting, unplugging, restarting, signing in, signing out. It takes Sonos over 10 days to respond to email, 55m on hold to get help. If I want to purchase more equipment (have to be nuts), call is answered immediatlu.   Now all I want to know is who is the competition so I can rip all of this worthless equipment out and start over.   Your CEO should be canned and anyone that worked on this update.  I am not expecting any response or help as your past performance speaks volumes (maybe not

I honestly thought it was non techy head that was at fault - but reading some of these comments restores my sanity.I think I've got such a simple set up - just a speaker, turntable and port.  Every time I want to switch between radio to turntable I have to do a minimum of 3 steps and check that the port is still ticked, get Line-in etc. I feel like I should just shout at the speaker 'the turntables on' .  It shouldn't be this hard.

I had 2 Sonos Play Ones grouped and as a stereo pair along with 2 Ones SL and a sub.  After the “upgrade” app the ones no longer play with the group and says they’re not connected?  This is an upgrade?  I have to manually hit the play button every time I want those speakers to rejoin the group?  I also have 2 Play Ones for rear surround speakers grouped with an arc and a sub. Those have no issues for now and are still grouped with the Arc and sub.  What is going on with this “upgrade”?
