Have had none of these problems with my original arc. Just hooked up the arc ultra to my Samsung tv and the eArc connection will be solid for a few moments and then the sound drops out for a second and it goes to a normal arc/hdmi connection. Have now tried multiple arc ultras and the same thing happens. Normally when I change the volume the tv says "receiver-(hdmi-eArc)". When this drop out happens it just says "receiver-(hdmi)". Thus I believe the eArc connection is dropping out to the lower arc. Has anyone else had this problem and what was their fix. I've tried different hdmi cables and that didn't fix it.

As much as I would like to think this is a Samsung problem, with Sonos' recent successes I tend to lean more to it being something on the arc ultras end. Never had one problem with my arc and even still when I plug it back in the eArc connection is solid and never drops. Never had this issue until the arc ultra. Just when you think Sonos is out in the clear and the issues are behind them bugs strike again.

You aren’t the only one. I’ve seen multiple Samsung users report this same issue with the Ultra. It is the same problem the original Arc had with Samsung TVs with eARC. It seemed like the issue eventually resolved itself over time with software updates and changing TV settings.

Agreed. Samsung TV’s seem to have multiple issues with their implementation of CEC regarding Sonos soundbars. The issues appear to have increased with the Arc Ultra. Even though your Arc seemed to work OK….the Arc Ultra works slightly differently in how it processes TV audio. My LG’s however have no issues with Arc or Arc Ultra.
