Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

We moved into a house where the owners left behind their Sonos speakers. We also have a prior system in our prior house. We can see and use the speakers in the house, but I can’t manage the system since it is still managed by the previous owners. I also tried adding one of the Sonos Fives from our previous house into this system (or just into a new system) and that didn’t seem to work either.  So here is what I want to do.Create a brand new system under my account that includes the Sonos speakers than came with the house, as well as our existing speakers. Is Factory resetting all the speakers the only way to do this (assuming I can’t contact the prior owners to transfer the system)? If I could contact the prior owners (they moved out of town) should I ask them to transfer ownership or “forget” their system.  Thanks 

Good evening,I am having a strange issue where I have 16 SONOS Port that do not get a an address from the DHCP Server. The issue occurs if I connect the devices to the ISP modem and also if I connect them to a SonicWall TZ670. However the DHCP assignment process works fine if I connect the Sonos devices to an old TZ300.On the packet capture from the firewall I can see how the DHCP process which is supposed to be Discover-Offer-Request-ACK is being repeated Dicover-Offer and the Sonos devices are ignoring the DHCP Offer and start over. Also many other devices work fine with DHCP on this network. We have done more than 100 installations with Sonos and Sonicwall and this is the first time that we have this issue. All devices are connected with a cable to a Cisco switch which has the recommended STP settings.The DHCP offer is being sent to the broadcast address 255.255.255.255 / ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff. Until yesterday I enjoyed listening music in dolby atmos by streaming Apple Music via the Sonos app to my era 300 stereo pair. Today my arc ultra and sub 4 arrived; I created one system with the era 300 pair as surrounds. Strangely enough The dolby atmos badge no longer appears when I stream music from Apple Music via the Sonos app. The spatial music flag is enabled, so I don’t understand why Dolby atmos isn’t working anymore. Any suggestions?thanks!

Hi All, I own two Era 100’s configured/linked together as a stereo-pair in my living room. I want to buy a 3rd Era 100 for the Kitchen and use synchronous multi-room streaming so I can walk between my Living room and Kitchen with the music perfect in sync. Would this work?

WTH do I have to completely reinstall my system to get these speakers to work.  These are great speakers, but the software is a total POS.  Half the time I open the app it doesn’t show any connected speakers and I have to go through the entire set up again.  The other half of the time it won’t connect to my wi-fi system with no explanation.  Why does listening to these F’ing things have to be so hard??

hi, the infrared remote control of my Philips LED TV 24” PFS5505/12 is not recognized in any way by Sonos Ray, that is connected with the optical cable to the TV and working perfectly.I followed all the instructions (https://support.sonos.com/it-it/article/tv-remote-not-detected-by-sonos) and in particular:*on the TV I set the audio output to "TV speaker deactivated"*I installed new batteries in the remote control*I pointed the remote control directly at the IR sensor of the Ray, from a distance of 1 meter and up to 1cm.*there is no object blocking the infrared sensor*there is no source of direct sunlight, and in any case I made MANY attempts to recognize it even in a dark room*there are no other infrared signals that interfereThe only thing I notice is that the Ray LED lights up when I press the volume + button 3 times, but the Sonos app continues to say that the remote is not detected.What to do?Thanks for the help

Hello-I am a long time Sonos user and have 12 SONOS speaking running on an ASUS RT-AX88U router. They are all connected to the 2.4GHz network. I have disabled IGMP Snooping, Airtime Fairness and disabled the 802.11ax / WiFi 6 mode on the 2.4Mhz network with the channel bandwidth set to 20MHz. The control channel is set to one while the SONON channel is set to 11.  I have actually gone as far as to assign fixed IP addressed and bounded those devices to the 2.4GHz At this point it seems that the network works perfectly if I’m streaming from Apple Music or other streaming services from my phone. However, any time the source is a TV the network becomes unstable, and speakers drop out randomly, its maddening. The ARC on one TV and the Playbar the other never drop out, just other speakers on the network. So, the speakers connected via optical cable never drop. I have a SONOS that I have tried with similar results. Anyone heard of anything like this. Again, speakers seem stab

Hi all,I noticed that my arc ultra has completely different levels when streaming music (I use Tidal) vs when I watch TV.When I watch TV my volume is typically around 20-25, depending on the content. But with music, I need 60-70 to sound roughly at same volume level IF the music is streamed directly to the arc ultra.However, if I send music to my tv’s Tidal app, the volume is back to normal, the sound seems fuller (more bass) and I'm back at 20-25. Same goes if I use the Tidal app on my appletv.This suggests that sonos is applying different settings when streaming music, which is not completely new (my sonos amp also does this). However, it seems that the difference on the ultra is much much more pronounced, which makes me wonder if there's some latent issue?

I have a "Google Chromecast with Google TV" connected to my TV via HDMI. I use it to stream YouTube, Netflix, and Kodi. My TV is connected to a Sonos Beam (2nd gen) via HDMI Arc. Whenever I play a video with a Dolby audio track (on YouTube, Netflix, or Kodi), I hear a popping/cracking sound at the beginning of playback. This issue does not occur when playing stereo/PCM audio. If I stop the video and resume playback, the popping sound happens again. However, if I let the video play, there are no further issues during playback. The exact same popping sound occurred when I previously used a Sonos Ray connected via an optical cable. When I replaced the Sonos Beam with a much cheaper Philips soundbar (connected via HDMI Arc), the problem disappeared completely, and everything worked fine. This suggests the issue happens with Sonos devices, regardless of connection method (HDMI Arc or optical cable). How can I fix this?

Feature request. I would have thought this would already be possible but can we have a feature where we can use two era 300s as a stereo pair when bonded as surrounds. Would be great if I could use them as surrounds when needed but then quickly switch them to a stereo pair if I wanted to use them for music play back by themselves. Would give users a bigger use case scenario and for the cost more versatile. 

Hoping for some advice here 😊I have the Epson LS12000 connected to a HdFury VRROOM (from the projector's eARC output to the HDMI TX0 input) and a cable from my Sonos Arc to the eARC Audio input on the VRROOM.  However, while trying to install the Arc on the app I get a message saying "HDMI ARC not detected". Any advise?As additional information, I have a PS5, a Nintendo and an Apple TV connected to the VRROOM. All cables are high quality HDMI 2.1. The one running from the Sonos Arc to the VRROOM has the "device" side of the cable connected to the speaker and the "display" side is connected to the VRROM.I would truly appreciate all the help I can get - since this is driving me crazy 😊

Hey, I’ve been noticing recently that my Sonos Ace plays a beep sound and suddenly stops playing/recording any sounds.The weird thing is the headphone is still connected and is selected as the audio source in Mac and Teams, but it just doesn’t work. I either have to turn it on/off, or recently found that switching the audio device in both Mac/Teams gets it back to a working state.I’m suspecting it’s a sleep/idle-detection issue, where it “thinks” it’s idling and goes into a hibernate mode to save power.Anyone else has had this issue? It’s very frustrating, specially during some important meetings where it happens.

Trying to report a bug but can’t figure out where. Recently on my Era 100, most noticeably through Apple Music which I use most often, the next song in queue will play, but periodically no sound will play. App shows time elapsing on song, but no sound. Hitting back to restart the song then fixes issue and sound plays as normal.

I currently have a large amount of music stored on my WD Home NAS in various formats.  I’m able to stream MP3s to Sonos but FLAC files, although visible on the Sonos app (Music Library), bring up an error stating they don’t exist.  I guess this could be down to the NAS (which is a few years old) or the device I’m using to connect to Sonos.I also use Spotify but again, this doesn’t allow lossless audio.If there’s no workable solution, one option I am considering is buying a Brennan B2 or B3.  I have a large CD collection so streaming from Brennan to Sonos in lossless is appealing.However, if I take the plunge on a Brennan, I believe I would need to set that up as the designated Music Library.  So my question is - can two folders be set up within the Music Library on the Sonos app?  I don’t want to lose access to my existing NAS as that has some unique recordings (albeit on MP3) but would love the option of streaming lossless from another device.I guess my

My system is currently a mix of S1 and S2 products. I would like to upgrade them all to S2, but I have one (Play:5) that isn’t S2 compatible. I have an idea to get the Play:5 to work on an S2 system, please let me know if you think this will work. 1: I have an S2 compatible Connect:Amp2: Use speaker wire to RCA out of the Connect:Amp3: RCA to aux connection4: Aux line in to Play:5I know I’ll probably have to control volume separately on the S1 app for this, but it seems like I’ll least be able to group the Play:5 (via Connect:Amp) with the rest of the system this way. Any thoughts?

My SONOS ROAM suddenly dropped off my network and I cannot make it reconnect again. The light by the logo  will not light up at all (during an attempt to reboot it, for example) but the led at the other end, shows a solid orange for a few seconds and then nothing. So, right now, I have a brick that looks like a speaker.The iPhone app is confusing and offers zero help (when trouble strikes it’s essentially useless); there is no way to delete a speaker and attempt to add it again (this would seem a most basic function but not to SONOS).Any suggestions?Thank you.A.C.

What is wrong with the sonos app?  Since three weeks, I can’t control the volume anymore; it continuely searches, trying to find what is playing. It’s a frustrating mess. If it doesn’t get fixed soon, i am changing everything & i am going to spread my experience on all forums possible.
