Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

Hi, I used to use my Sonos all the time and it all made sense.    If I have a heap of music downloaded onto my iPhone in Apple Music how do I play it on my Sonos these days?Any help would be appreciated.It’s not an advanced setup, but starting a topic is hard enough.  Here’s some feedback: this site used to be easy to use! T  

I have a problem which seems to have come out of nowhere - the Sonos App won’t let me play music (from Spotify), only Alexa. When I click on “Play” the tab just keeps circling and the room I’m trying to play it in shows “no content” (screenshot attached)Is there something simple I need to do to rectify the problem? 

I have a Bluetooth turntable that i wish to try connect to my existing Beam. Was thinking of making this connection using the Beam’s supplied optical adapter, connected to a Bluetooth adapter’s optical port. The Beam,s HDMI port is listening for an ARC feed; just wondering if the above will work.  

Hello Sonos Community!  I have a Play 1 that I have had for years and is part of a stereo pair.  For some reason, the Play1 will not power up when I plug it in or do a factory reset.  In other words, the white light does not come on nor does it blink.  I tried a different power cord (with the same receptacle), tried different outlets, etc.  I just purchased a pair of Era100 and ready to get it set up to replace the Play1.  Is there any hope for this Play1?  Any repair options?  Recycle time?  I have Sonos products throughout our home and they are great!  But do these products have a life span?  I also might mention that this Play1 has not been damaged, subjected to abuse, exposure to liquids, etc.  Hope all this makes sense.  Thanks!

Today one of my speakers stopped playing music. I managed to connect it again but it wouldn’t allow me to add it to the existing room. I went around in circles trying everything I could find on the forums and then followed these steps.Factory reset both speakers Added the first one to the new room Added the 2nd speaker to the new room After this step there is only 1 speaker in the room When you select setup a stereo pair this screen displays and the product can’t be found: When I go to the App Both speakers exist in other settings, e.g.  I can locate them in the settings to update the Network (they update fine and are both on the same network).I still have the problem with only 1 speaker working and not being able to add a pair.

How to connect Era 100 to Samsung Freestyle?

Since SONOS really messed up with the new APP and since they are supposedly working on it all the time to improve it - I have a strong suggestion, great idea and question for SONOS. Why don’t you add volume control from an iPhone volume buttons back into the SONOS APP???? Just like in the old SONOS APP that worked fine, and in the award winning Spotify APP & Service - you should let users control the volume of their SONOS system by using the volume controls on the mobile device (i.e. iPhone). That is so much easier that trying to slide the slider, etc! In fact, I more often use the Spotify APP to play my music than the SONOS APP because of this feature.Since there are so many features and setup options in the APP - you should allow the user to chose if they want to control volume by iPhone volume buttons or not!You’re welcome of the great idea - please email when you add the feature!! I have a 11 sonos devices, Sonos One x3, era 100 x2, Five, Beam Gen1&2, Arc, Sub Gen3 x2.  I’ve never had any issues over the last 4 years. 3 days ago I had a new wifi connection and router installed.  The difficulty I have had trying to get them all onto the new network/ wifi is utterly ridiculous. I contacted Sonos and they said connect one speaker to the router with an Ethernet, which I’ve also seen mentioned on here. Doing so, got all the products back online but there is no way of inputting the new WiFi details name, password etc.  the app only gives the option to begin setting each device to the network separately. However, this simply fails every time I attempt it and when I remove the Ethernet cable, the entire system goes off line. I would simply keep the Ethernet cable connected to the router but I need them to hardwire wifi to 3 tvs and a Philips hue bridge.  can anyone help?? 🙏

Does era 300 work without power cable?

Why is this app still so terrible?Unbelievable, get your act together Sonos, the company looks like an absolute joke. I turn on my Bose equipment and it works, never an issue. I regret the day I purchased any Sonos equipment.  The only devices not appearing on my network are Sonos. When the app does miraculously find them it is unable to fix the issue and I get no sound. Has it been a full year of continuing errors and terrible management? Not only does the app suck, this company sucks. 

I’ve had 2x Play 1’s connected as surrounds to a Beam in my living room for a number of years which have worked faultlessly, until very recently.A couple of weeks ago I noticed one of the Play 1’s wasn’t showing up in the app and said disconnected, but the white light was flashing.  On investigating the Play 1 flashed up with a firmware update which it performed and seemed to initially connect ok so I didn’t think anything more.  The next day I noticed the speaker wasn’t connected but there was now a strange sequence of lights - as follows:white light on for 20 seconds white light off then flashes 3 times No lights for 3 mins above sequence repeats.The Play 1 does not show in the app at all.  I have tried every combination of hard/factory reset, including plugged in via Ethernet but the speaker is stuck in the above sequence.  Sonos support have been absolutely useless and

Hi,I bought a Sonos Era 100, but the equalizer is missing in the settings. Under settings, my room there is under "Sound" True Play but no equalizer as described on the support page. The app is freshly installed, the Era 100 brand new. Does anyone have any ideas? Is the support article perhaps wrong and the equalizer is probably to be found elsewhere?

The ace headphones are too loud no matter the volume setting. I know this has been mentioned in several other threads, but I wanted to raise it again in a new ticket because it hasn’t been addressed by staff in months and it falls under the very basics of implementing a set of headphones. I’m also the very specific type of person who wants to test a hypothesis, so I have some debugging information that might be helpful to the engineers. My Ace headphones started to correctly report their dB levels to iOS’s headphone safety widgets, so I was able to compare the linear 0-100 volume setting with the reported headphone decibels when playing a steady white noise track. I did this across three headphones: the Ace, Bose QuietComfort 45 II, and Beats Powerbeats Pro earbuds. The latter was included as a reference because Apple’s documentation said the dB reporting feature was most accurate on Beats and Apple products. I have a Beam and 2 Play1 speakers that I had setup as surrounds and noticed one speaker was not firing.I ended up resetting both Play1 speakers, with everything seemingly working. These were added to the Family Room group. (Same as the Beam) In the app they showed as being in group Family Room1 and Family Room2.I then added these as surrounds to my Beam, again all seemed to work fine. Upon checking the setup via my Beam they did not show, however there was an option to remove the surrounds, when I clicked on this option  the speakers showed as being disconnected!So I removed them, and performed another reset of both speakers. However, now neither on them will connect to my wifi. The setup seems to work perfectly, all tone sound and completion notices happened. It is the final step where the system tries to add them to my network that fails every time!I'm about 3 hours in sodding around trying to get these to connect with no luck. The app is driving me in

I have the Ace Headphones, and I like them. The battery life is amazing.I want to try out the Dolby Atmos encoding for the headphones and as I understand it, I need the Beam Gen 2. I have an 11.1 Atmos setup using a receiver and wired speakers. It works fine but none of it is Sonos product. I am trying to figure out if I could possibly replace my passive center channel speaker with the Beam Gen 2. Some questions:Does the Beam Gen 2 only create Atmos via the HDMI ARC or eARC connection? Using the Optical Adapter does or does not pass Atmos to the Beam Gen 2?Can the Beam Gen 2 be set up to work as a single speaker without the spatial decoding for multi-channel output?If this won’t work at all, is there another way I can get Atmos content to play in the Ace headphones?Thanks.

I have a new Sonos / Era 100 system, I’m using YouTube Music as one of my subscribed sources. I also have an Amazon Music account however I cannot find Amazon anywhere in the list of providers to add. I’m in Australia and as far as I can tell, should have access to it?

After I reset Sonos App, to open the App requires Visual ID on my iPhone.  How do I do that? 

I created playlists at my cottage on Sonos 1, but the same are not found at the house, using same account and same iPad. Why ?Where are the playlist stored ? I have only one account.The Sonos players remain in one place.Some have suggested to create one system with all Sonos, including carry one unit at the second house to create this common system, but I dont understand the reason.    

Given the current inability to manipulate Sonos playlists, I looked into importing playlists. I created some with windows media player. My issue is that there seems to be a hard limit of 100 songs.  Woefully inadequate and pitiful scaling for any modern system. For any playlist larger than 100 songs, trying to play the list has it endlessly clone itself in the queue until the queue is 50000 entries or so. Same 100 song listings cloned 500 times.At least when the queue has not been exceeded and you try to add to the queue such that it goes over 100 songs you get an error. so this looks like just really bad code.  When will this trivial limit be raised and when will the system not melt down when the limit is exceeded?

Following an overnight update to MacOS 15.3 my Sonos Controller is unable to access the network. Message of check your firewall settings. So I have:In Firewall settings, ensured (and toggled off then on) Sonos.app allowing incoming connections is on; Ensured Sonos.app is allowed to access Local Network (again toggled off/on); Deleted and downloaded up-to-date version of Sonos.app; Rebooted Mac Reset Sonos.app which then can’t find products during set-up.Note: Sonos.app on Iphone and iPad are working normally.Any further suggestions?

Why did my Arcam avr10 and the Axium speaker control stop working with the sonos port after I installed a new Orbi wifi ?

After setting up the playbar and 2x Sonos one as stereo pair. I am happy with the sound. Also I have an Sonos SL elsewhere in the home. But after like a few days and using the app for volume and control. Randomly the speakers one by one or sometimes even totally are out of the list. Sometimes they pop in again, sometimes I can reconnect them through the app but button not always available. Sometimes I have to reinstall the whole speakers. Connection from WiFi looks very stable for all other devices.  Any ideas why they would go out of connectivity? Or what can I do towards the system?
