Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

I have a gen 1 play 5, with 3x play 1, 2x play 3 and sub. I have factory reset the play5 and want to remove from system so I can update to new app. Don’t want to loose playlists, or have to start again. when I try to update to existing, on my network it says I can’tunsure as to why?? Thought it might be play 5 as 1st gen…. Can anyone please help🙏

This might be a feature request that would improve usability of the Sonos system. When you have grouped some Sonos speakers and the TV is in this group I would like to adjust the volume of the group using the TV remote including muting. Scenario is when a phone call comes in or similar case when you need to mute or adjust volume level instantly.Technically this should be feasible because right now the TV remote controls all 5.1 speakers through HDMI ARC. And the Sonos system knows which speakers are grouped together. Volume adjustment when using the remote should be the same when adjusting the group volume bar in the App. Of course this feature should be optional managed in settings.  

Okay, so I bought an Arc and gen3 sub about 2 years ago, primarily as for movies tv etc. Always been happy with it until I recently switched to iPhone from Android.no matter what I try, my iPhone will not airplay to the arc directly from Apple Music or YouTube music. It shows the arc in the airplay list but attempting to connect gives a “cannot connect to arc” error.i can play audio from both apps when used within the Sonos app but let’s be honest, the UI blows so not ideal.i can also airplay to my tv and play through the arc since it’s my tvs primary audio setup.i have an old Sonos one in the office at work and that streams audio great via airplay, yet I spent a bomb on the arc and sub and can’t even get a connection on my iPhone. Tried resetting everything, even the router but no bueno.

I recently tried to use Apple Music with Sonos and learned SONOS won’t import any files that aer mp4 and those files can't be converted.  I have a lot of music I own and want to be able to use a streaming service to augment what I have.  (I want playlists that have both my own music as well as music from a streaming service).  So I googled Amazon Unlimited and it sounds like this might have fewer restrictions.  IIs it possible to download music via Amazon Unlimited, import everything to SONOS such that I can listen to both my music and downloaded music in playlists I’ve created?  I don’t want to go through Alexa and I DO want to mix and match what I’m listening to.  (My SONOS speakers are old and do not support streaming to them directly from for example iTunes).  If Amazon Music Unlimited has the same challenge that Apple Music has is there a streaming service that does work this way? 

I got a couple albums recorded in Atmos but no luck when trying them through app's music library nor  plugging to my projector's USB the hdd that holds this media. It always send it downgraded to my arc ultra and eras 300 in stereo pcm.Is there an Android media player or any other workaround that will let me enjoy this music at their full encoding with my sonos system?Thanks community.

I've a Sonos Move and from yesterday evening the MIC light it's turned on and I cannot do anything. I try to reset but nothing is working. Any solutions?

My system (still S1) has been set up with some kind of workaround to receive Patreon-only content from a podcast in a direct stream, in addition to the podcast's public content. I let Patreon lapse for a month, and now the workaround isn't working and I can’t find the directions I used before. Does anyone recognize this process enough to help me get that member-only stream back into Sonos? TIA!I should add that I don’t subscribe to streaming services (Spotify, Amazon Music, etc) so that’s why I’m looking for the process to add a direct stream.p.s. I would like to see the lyrics while I’m playing a song in my Sonos app. Normally I use Spotify.  is it possible?

Hi, I have new Mac Book and trying to set up Sonos. Installed the app but there is no sign of “manage” to allow me to add music folders etc., I’m new to Mac and tried searching, googling etc., but am stuck. I have read other interesting articles about how to get my folders working once I can find “manage”, at least I think I have.

I often listen to jazz playlists and the music plays with sudden stops and starts again few seconds later.It’s very annoying.Irene Lepicard 

Looking to add a SubMini to my current Playbar and Paly1 setup on my tv. Will the SubMini connect? I do not see the Playbar listed only the Beam. Thx!

Sonos has marked this issue as “resolved” but it’s not. I stream radio with Apple music every day though my Sonos Beam and inevitably I start experiencing drops in the stream. Meanwhile on my portable sonos speaker I never experience this drop no matter where I put it in the house. Yet another unresolved glitch by Sonos that people are begging them to resolve.

Hello, I installed my Sonos Beam soundbar and paired it with two Sonos One SL speakers. They work well together. The Beam soundbar is connected to the HDMI Arc port. Unfortunately, when I turn on my TV, my system doesn't always connect automatically to the TV and the sound comes directly from the TV. I have to go through the app each time and reconfigure the TV in the system options. TV: Philips UHD 50PUS7906/12 Is this issue known and is there a solution?Thanks in advance.

The second speaker for my move isn’t showing as connected. Got a new router and finally after multiple hours got the move connected. Any suggestions. thanks for the help 

The volume keeps turning down, and my amp keeps flashing, red and white lights

I have multiple rooms ( & a hall ) each with 4 speakers ( & subs ), I have fully embraced Sonos throughout our home, yet I am constantly frustrated with having to group 2 stereo pairs so I can play in a room. It constantly fails, all I want is for them to remain fully paired and appear as one set, neither one volume so I don’t have to keep wondering why the sound isn’t right and then to findbrhat I’m only playing out of 2 of 4 speakers. I could have done this in my old none Sonos based house with no problems.inreally want Sonos to work and. This feels like a minor software issue, please make it possible or tell me how to if it’s already possible.

Hi.  I updated my Sonos desktop app from version 16.6 to 16.7 yesterday and then tried to update my local music library since I had added some new songs but now I get this error message:This message doesn’t make sense because my music files haven’t moved and I was able to index my library under version 16.6 a few days ago without any problems.  I tried updating my content on the mobile app too; I didn’t get an error message but the new songs were not added.Any ideas or do I just need to wait until the next update for this new bug to be fixed?  (Troubleshooting this app after each update is really getting tiresome.)Thanks.

Hi Sonos Community, I am trying to connect a USB hard drive to my router which I have loaded with songs from my computer and play through Sonos using the app. Some time ago this worked fine by the following: Manage - Music Library Settings, using a path as - //192.(IP Address...)/Name of Drive but this errors out when I progress further. It seems to be since upgrading to Windows 11 or possibly because the Sonos app has changed? I have also read that SMB security settings need to be set back to v1, which I believe I have done.Could anyone tell me if they have successfully enabled connecting a hard drive to their router on their Sonos set up and how they have achieved this, and if I need to correct the path or settings to make this work?

I'm running the latest SONOS app and have Amazon Music connected.  It will search and play music without issue, but it will not allow me to access any Podcasts.  Is there a fix or workaround?  I'm also a weirdo and not in the apple ecosystem, still rocking my andtoid based Samsung S21 Ultra.TIA,Brian

I just bought an Era 100 Sonos and I set it up and I am using Spotify on it but I really want to listen to Radio 4 and BBC Sounds. The instructions are to open the Sonos app - fine and go to Settings fine and then go to Services and Voice - not find because my app doesn’t have this. I searched through all the radio channels and searched for BBC Sounds and it says it has nothing. I just don’t know what I need to do. 

So I have a Sonos amp (Fully updated) and I’m trying to connect my Forza 10 inch outdoor sub using Nobsound G2 PRO TPA3255 Hi-Fi 300W sub amplifier. The subwoofer wires are connected to the red and black audio out. I then used a single RCA to RCA and connected that to sub out on the Nobsound and plugged it directly into the Sonos amp labeled Sub I still have no sound.  The only way to get the sub to power up is to splice the wires to my sonance left speaker or sonance right speaker.  I know there was a thread on this before but I can’t continue that conversation. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated!
