Why is the new Sonos App SO BAD??I have a Sonos one and Beam. the App repeatedly fails to detect them and i have to start the app numerous times before it detects these devices. It repeatedly says “something went wrong”!I can’t even change radio stations or increase volume with this message being dispalyedThis Sonos experience is REALLY bad!
The new app is a piece of XXXX nothing works correctly everything lags it keeps applying my music request to the wrong room, finding my music is a real pain. With so many competitors out there that are as good or maybe better why would one stay with Sonos other than the investment in speakers. I hope they do not screw with the older Sonos 1 app. as it still seems to be ok. If they stop supporting those speakers and or change the app like the Sonos 2 , I believe a lot of users will be disgusted enough to stop using product and move on the another platform. whom ever approved the new app should be fired. and the persons who designed said app needs of find other work. If you haven't guessed I am not happy at all with the Sonos app update.
Since Monday my Sonos system no longer works.I had chat support about that (06231849) but the assistant left the conversation! Not only my home automation system can no longer use them, but even your app no longer works correclty.Spotify can't use them either reliably. In your Sonos app (the one on my iPhone, and the one on my Mac), all my connect:Amps (Sonos ZonePlayer ZP120) keep connecting and disconnecting. They keep appearing and disappearing in the list of devices in the app. So I most of the time cannot launch a playback. If I manage to launch a playback, then it will stop after one minute or two. This problem seems to be linked to your last update.Everything worked fine until this week.My sonos devices are connect to my router (D-Link (web smart switch) DGS-1210-24P) through RJ45 cables which is connected (RJ45) to my internet box.I've already tried unplugging the devices (and the router) and plugging them back in : the problem is the same.My router configuration hasn't changed for

Greetings, Has anyone had issues connecting Sonos products to the new Nest Google WiFi Pro mesh? Last week, I updated my Nest google WiFi mesh to their new Nest WiFi Pro mesh. I immediately started having issues with my Sonos system. Speakers were disconnecting unexpectly, especially the Era 300 and 100s. My arc now cuts in and out during TV play. I called Sonos support and we troubleshooted, but only temporary success. I’m going to switch back to the old mesh system.
Is there any plan to rollback the latest app update? The UI is horrible, I can no longer scroll through a song, the volume increase/decrease is horrible! I can no longer add songs to an existing playlist. Also, I can no longer control the app from the lockscreen or the pulldown menu. There are other issues that others have mentioned in the forum as well. Please rollback and fix the issues before releasing.
Firstly, I am a custom installer and had been successfully using/installing SONOS for many years on a commercial basis. These are a few problems which Im going to assume many of you are experiencing. (and bear in mind SONOS before you blame the networks-they are fine!)screen delaysno NAS allowance (I require this for installation in remote areas where no internet)no landscape interface on ipad/iphone-We wall mount iPads with SONOS, Control4/Crestron interface requiring landscape mounting.when manually grouping arc and amp-loses grouped volume. (where no hard wire is possible to link)no downgrade to S1volume slow to engageinterface slow to connect-(imagery takes long time to appear)difficulty in connecting new products-many errors encounteredwhy is pin at bottom of amp-cant get to it when in a comms rackgenerally the app makes little or no sense opposed to s1/s2-bring S2 back until you sort this mess out.can get rid of popups even when opting out.ads and unnecessary options appear on ho
Since the new app (a couple of months ago?), everything has been horrible. Why would you, Sonos, release such defunct update, world wide release, to one of people’s most prized possessions - their music. I fully trusted Sonos for the last decade, but now it’s clear the quality is gone. Not even about quality, the app is useless. Speakers don’t play, all kinds of delays- delays is going from one screen to the next, play and pause freezes,, the app freezes when you join or remove speakers/rooms, can’t locate personal library - either downloaded onto the device or personal library from like Apple Music; disorganized menus- it looks likes DisneyLand or Six Flags in the sense that everything has been thrown all over; asking about signing in and registering every time you want to start a new music session; the last song played one minutes ago from Apple Music, refuses to play again when you hit play. What happened? And raised the prices of the devices astronomically - for what? There
Who will buy the new Sonos headphones? Sonos make excellent speakers. However they have zero experience in the highly competitive and crowded headphone market. Sony, Apple and Bose, together with many good minor players are already top choices for over and in-ear devices. Their prime target market must be the existing Sonos customer, already invested in the Sonos ecosystem. That's probably a lot of pissed off people who have been recently shafted by the new app!It will be interesting to see how the sales go.
Sonos - I do not think there is a better speaker system on the planet-period.We own a ton of various kinds and variations. We love them. We have got to fix the new app. This app is killing the brand. There so many bugs it is hard to even explain. Please let’s get an overhaul app that works - please!
Can anyone recommend me a good router that is known to work with sonos gear no problem under £100 if possible, I've just switched over to bt smart hub 2 and can't get my sonos gear to connect up to it. Thanks.
I made a mistake on Saturday and updated my App on the IPhone. Multiple resets and connections has not brought my Move2 back on to the App. It makes all the right noises but refuses to display and the ‘add speaker or component’ refuses to stop searching for ‘nearby products’. With nothin to lose, I tried the latest update today and it provided zero relief. Does anyone know how to go back to an IOS friendly version that works?
Skipping. Delays. Lag
My Sonos arc returns the volume down to 15 every time I try to play louder. What is wrong?
Hello. Since the installation of the new app our suicidal experience has sadly greatly diminished. We have 7 speakers in our home, for the last 8 years. Now we’re experiencing issues with our system multiple times a day. The most frustrating is the connection and playback — the music sounds staticky, spotty and interrupted. When trying to fix it, the app freezes up, has an unable to connect message, doesn’t recognize the speakers or music that’s currently playing, or is incredibly slow to respond. This mostly occurs when trying to play a new song or playlist, which we do often throughout the day. Are these problems we’re experiencing soon to be resolved?
While the New SONOS app seems to work OK with my iPhone, it really sucks when I try to use my iPad. This is NOT good because I use my iPad as the my Go To Device for all my home automation. I have to open the all TWICE to get it to work as it NEVER loads with the first click. Frustrating.
We use to love our Sonos system. But the new app (Spring 2024) changed everything. In order to watch TV with it now, I have to go around the house and unplug/replug every speaker. Sometimes it will work after that. Sometimes not. Three of our Sonos speakers won’t connect at all.How could Sonos mess this up? And why?!Note to Sonos: quit trying to sell me your new products. Just fix the current system so that it works.
Ever since the Sonos app update was forced on users it’s been nothing but trouble. It doesn’t remember what level surround speakers are at because it quits working, times out, or whatever it’s doing. The only way to fix is to “Force Close” the app on my phone and restart it each time I want to adjust the levels on my surround or do anything else with it. The old app version worked great. Even if I turned my phone off as soon as the wireless reconnected the surround levels would adjust to where they were set previously and it worked like normal.
Why is the new app sooooo bad?!?it’s completely unresponsive, slow, clunky, difficult to use.maybe it’s just me but if anyone knows how to uninstall this piece of crap and go back to the old one please let me know.
Like many Android users, the new Sonos app does not works on my phone (Pixel 8). I get a screen with options but they are disabled and when I uninstall the app and reinstall, I cannot find my widget. Even if I open the reinstalled app, it is disabled. This has been an issue since May I gather. When can we expect an update/rollback?
I have had sonos since the day it was released and upgraded periodically I have now upgraded my system and app and it is a nightmare now I can't get my favorite music but the biggest problem is organizing groups if I start the music in the whole house on my device I can no linger design my own group without closing the house it's very difficult to get grouping done the sound control has a huge delay I increase volume and nothing happens, I increase it again and I'm blasted out of the room so many problems it takes hours to set the house back up in the app by resetting g all speakers Please please give us back the old app
Bought a new Sonos Era 100 x 2. Couldn't play any music as something went wrong. Looks like everyone else cant connect their devices either. Let me share a song here instead…. if we cant listen on our sonos, we can sing along🎶To the tune of "Love Story" by Taylor SwiftI bought a Sonos Era, shiny and new, Thought it’d fill my room with melodies true. But when I tried to connect, oh what a twist, The app said, “Something went wrong,” and I was miffed.Unplugged and replugged, a dance with no end, Reset my router, called up my friend. But the message stayed, like a ghost in the night, “Something went wrong,” just mocking my plight.(Chorus) Oh, Sonos, you’re breaking my heart, You were supposed to play, but now we’re worlds apart. “Something went wrong,” it’s driving me mad, I just wanted music, now I’m feeling so sad.Checked all the settings, and Wi-Fi too, Restarted my phone, what more could I do? Googled for answers, looked high and low, But “Something went wrong,” was all it would show
I have unplugged all speakers and removed the app from all devices. I reinstalled the app and rebooted the play bar at the tv to begin initiation. NOTHING. Remote does not respond, speaker only able to control volume with button on the side of speaker. The app on the iPad does not recognize the speaker 6 feet away. I held on line twice two weeks ago to speak with someone regarding these issues. I was told I had a one hour wait. So I waited. The one hour wait occurs any time they are open. That’s simply to wear you down and hope you just hang up. At 57 minutes, someone picked up. Both times. Very suspicious. Anyway, they had no solutions to my problems with the system. He wanted to use my computer which I would not allow. Im at the point of scrapping the system and buying Vizeo speakers. C-Net recommends them.
How do I share my Sonos system?
Hate Hate Hate the latest update with a passion. Such a time waster, cant find anything that I used to, selection of music is crap, whats happened? Been a Sonos user since 2007 and this is the WORST experience Ive ever had. If things dont improve Im ditching it and buying a new system..
