After updating to 80.00.08 (iOS) and updating the system to 16.2 I was able to create new alarms (the old ones were still missing). Alarm didn’t start at the set time and it looks like they are delayed by two hours.
I think there is currently no way to change the system‘s default time, either.
So I might set up all alarms two hours too early and hope that it’s not automatically changed

Same problem here

…same here - really embarrassing bug… same offset of 2hrs.

It could be time is correct, but time zone is wrong.

I’m wondering if Sonos is now using IP geo-location to determine the location of your Sonos?

Easy test, open a browser, go to speed.cloudflare.net, and is your location correct?

Yep, location is correct.

I am having the same issue, though my Sonos desktop controller app says that the time is 4 hours ahead of the actual time.  For example, right now my Mac says the time is 5:22 am (which is correct), but the Sonos app in the Manage Alarms area says it’s 9:22 am.  I see no way on either the desktop or mobile app to check on the time zone or to re-adjust the time.  Am I missing something?

I had hoped that yesterday's update would fix the problem, but unfortunately not. At the moment I set the alarm clock to 4 o'clock if I want to be woken up at 6 o'clock. There is no option to change the time zone in the iOS app and our network is in the correct time zone. I find it super unsatisfactory that there is no statement from the Sonos team here in the forum about when this error will be fixed. It shouldn't be rocket science for a software developer to fix this problem.

Can you try to check your IP geolocation using a site similar to https://tools.keycdn.com/geo, does it show the correct timezone for your public IP address?

It is correct

I think what is going on here is that the new Sonos alarms are using GMT rather than your local time zone. This would explain why my alarm (US/ Eastern daylight time) goes off  4 hours early while others (possibly in Europe?) would go off 2 hours late. Can anyone from West Coast USA confirm that their alarms are 7 hours early?

Alternately, can you delete your existing alarm, and set up a new one, and see if the new one responds appropriately?

I have already set up the alarm again and pointed out the GMT problem in another post. Unfortunately, no response from Sonos.

Pacific time here. Can confirm alarm went off 7 hrs early.

Was not impressed to get up in the middle of the night and then not be able to find the time zone change option this morning in the app.

We all know that this app was absolutely WRECKED so Sonos could hit their timeline targets for investors of releasing their s***** headphones, right?

They purposely chose to release an app that screwed existing users in order to hit their investor targets.

Brutally bad company. Fortunately, google speaker devices now have grouping enabled again. I'll be sad to take the huge financial hit of selling all my Sonos speakers but I just need something that works.

Same problem here. I’m in the Central time zone and my Sonos system clock (and 5 alarms) are 5 hours ahead.

By the way, my wife can not figure out how to use the new app. She is not a happy camper. The Sonos CEO should be saying something about the failings of the new app.

I have the same alarm problem in Australia.  The problem corresponds to the GMT theory.  I am GMT+10 and all my alarms need to be set with a 10 hour difference to play at the intended time post update.  Kludgy and annoying but at least I can use the alarm now.

I frankly don’t understand how the Sonos could screw up a basic NTP port call in their coding.

Worst part is it seems to be a smaller subset of users with this problem compared to other issues and there’s been zero response to date by Sonos to acknowledge the bug or provide a fix timeline.

Same issue here in Italy, time zone is correct but Sonos system is constantly two hours behind the real time. Impossible to set the right time, no access to any of the functions needed to set/fix the Sonos clock to real time.

I checked into the phone and in the Mac App, no solution.

@Sonos  programmers, Please update the system to be able to allow manual time fix or to read the time by the network.

thanks a lot

Yep 5 hours off here in Arkansas.

What I find incredible here is that Sonos has recently updated its App (I am using the iPhone and the Mac app) and the performance is  less satisfying than the previous version.
As we are on the road (I have a move 1 and a move 2 device a t home), and Sonos is willing to lead its market, we are in the need of seeing minor issue as the timezone setting, which can be read automatically fo the network (my vacuum cleaner robot can do it...) as soon as possible.  I can’t read users need to set their alarm clock keeping Sonos mistake in count.

No way. so disappointed.

Yeah 6 hours early here in SLC, woke me up at 1 am wasn’t very pleasant lol

Got an update today of the iOS app.
Expected the GMT problem to be solved….

I was wrong…

I’m located in the Netherlands (CET) and still the alarm sounds 2 hours late! GMT time…

Is it so hard to fix this flaw??

UTC not GMT

What do you mean?

This programming bug has set all Sonos devices to to UTC not GMT.

I recently moved from Los Angeles to Maine. I shipped out my Move speaker but it’s still invisibly set to the Pacific time zone. When I use my iPhone app to set an alarm for 7:30 am, the speaker does not come on until 10:30 am, which is 3 hours behind. I have looked through all of the app settings but don’t see any way to change or update the time zone. I recently upgraded to a new iPhone and am using the newest app version as well (80.02.04).

I’m not sure if this will work, but try it anyway.  Go here:

https://www.sonos.com/en-us/myaccount/user/profile

Login, and make sure your address is changed to your current residence. Then go to the Sonos app and check for updates (this will refresh the account info).  I’m not sure, but I don’t remember the app ever having a Time Zone setting, and I know location things like Geo-fencing and local stations are set via those profile settings.

Folks this is a bug. An annoying one that is affecting us all at the moment.
