So June has come and gone. Major missing features have not been restored. Workarounds fail frequently making for a very frustrating experience. Why can the company not just re-rerelease the apps that preceded the recent changes under a different name like “Sonos Classic”?

Sonos Classic would restore functionally for those of us who have been patient through this while allowing time for the new features to be developed and vetted without haste. It’s really past time to make this right and just rolling out the old version seems like a fairly easy thing to do.

There’s no reason that they can’t. We know 16.1 the (old app) works with the new firmware. They don’t want to I guess.

Unfortunately it doesn’t work fully and old app with latest firmware locks out a bunch of settings and new device setup. The old app would need work to unlock that part of the app again and also prevent firmware checks.

I have the 16.1 app and firmware and even that isn’t a fully working app. Trying to add a WiFi network, for example, performs a firmware check. With the update servers available it refuses to continue until a firmware update is performed. With the update servers blocked it throws an error because it can’t contact the update servers and refuses to proceed.

I’d expect plenty of issues like this, especially on the setup and settings side, so roll back would need more than just make the app available under a different name in the App Store to restore full functionality.
