Knowing the Sonos 2.0 app has significant issues, why are you still pushing users to upgrade?  Sonos is doing a disservice to its community in mandating to move to Sonos 2.0.  Turn that feature off until you get your software working properly

It seems to center around the new headphones. They need the headphones to reach sales targets. The headphones require the new app sort of.

By the way Have you considered buying a pair of expensive but basic headphones? Check out the add in your app 🤣

It hasn’t gotten any better since it launched. This is so frustrating. I use the app on my iphone and on my Macbook pro laptop. The Sonos app is non-responsive more times than not. Someone rings my doorbell and it takes 5-6 tries (30 seconds) just to pause the music. Same as far as changing the music I am playing.  It just doesn’t respond. It’s not like I’m not using common hardware or software. Apple Music, Pandora.  I have fast internet service and have no issues with it. I have several speakers and have loved the experience until this app. If this doesn’t improve I will move on to something else.

Your speed to the outside world isn’t a factor, all of your expressed concerns have to do with the Sonos speakers connecting to your router, a local connection issue having nothing to do with outside.

Try unplugging all your Sonos devices from power, then reboot your router. Give the router a couple of minutes to reboot, then plug back in the Sonos devices. This will force a reload of both the router and Sonos devices their respective firmware, as well as cause the Sonos devices to get new IP addresses from the newly booted router. Hopefully, this will resolve the internal delays in the network causing your commands to be delayed.

However, if the above doesn’t change your experience, I’d recommend that you submit a system diagnostic within 10 minutes of experiencing this problem, and call Sonos Support to discuss it. It’s a lot cheaper than tossing your current setup, and purchasing a new one.

There may be information included in the diagnostic that will help Sonos pinpoint the issue and help you find a solution.

When you speak directly to the phone folks, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.
