I thought for one hot minute that the new app was great, as it allowed me to connect to and use my IKEA Symofisk Gen 1 speaker ( I have two - a Gen 1 and a Gen 2) that stopped working a while ago.After HOURS with tech support and no resolution, the best they could offer me was a 25% discount on a new product. No sale, thank you very much.So when I downloaded the new app on my phone and then got the old Gen 1 speaker working again, I thought this was great! Two weeks later, we’re back to the same crap. Speaker not detected, speaker won't connect to my wifi (which has not changed in months). Tired of this BS now.I will not be buying another SONOS product. when the Gen 2 stops working, I’ll replace it with something else. Get your act together SONOS. 

HelloA lot of members are touting the potential “demise” of Sonos due to the misstep with the release of the S2 App Refresh. Still others are threatening to sell and/or mothball their Sonos gear and move on to a competitive product.I’ll not argue that those community members expressing their dissatisfaction with the App release are in error. To the contrary. Sonos has admitted that certain features are missing and will be addressed as quickly as possible. I’ve only had one issue with the refresh and that was with Trueplay which for me has been corrected and I’m able to use the feature once again.As far as the other legitimate missing features are concerned such as alarms and missing libraries I’ve used them very little or never as is the case with music libraries. However, alarms are working for me.The reason I’m posting (again) regarding the S2 Refresh missteps is to ask “does it really signal the demise of Sonos? Demise of Sonos can take many forms depending upon how one defines it.

SONOS went to great lengths (well, they stopped short of genuinely apologising to us for stuffing up an otherwise stable system) to say with the new app they were able and going to push out updates quickly to get us back to feature parity as soon as possible.We’ve seen nothing of the sort.  Alarms are still missing key features (like grouping rooms), the system is still slow and clunky, there are no Android widgets, the experience is still messy, etc. etc.A schedule would be nice so we at least have some sort of idea when things might be released.  My gut tells me there is more going on at SONOS than they are telling us.  I wonder if a chunk of their DEV team has left?  If things were running smoothly from an HR perspective 1) This wouldn’t have happened and 2) We would have had more app updates.Whilst I am on a spray, did everyone see the “new” Roam 2?  Identical to the previous version with the only difference being it can pair to Bluetooth out of the box.  LOL.

Posted previously but admins deleted.New app is worthless and made my system unusable. I rolled back to 16.1. If you do the same make sure you not only disable Auto updates on the app but also disable firmware updates on your system or an update will get pushed to block you from using the old version just like they did when S2 was launched

Does anyone know when, other than just hopefully June, will be able to access my 11,000 songs from my music library on my PC to the Sonos system again?  Why would I want to buy the new Ace headset when I can’t even play my own music?  I am 65 years old and not techy at all.  I have no idea what all this IOS and NAS  stuff even his.  I just want my music to play through the Sonos speakers again. 

Updated to the new app today and all local media devices are no longer available. I thought it was a bad move from Sonos when the ‘S1’ and ‘S2’ apps came out which was basically saying the older Sonos products should be replaced. Now, we’ve got this update and one of the main reasons for using Sonos is completely gone.I feel like I’ve wasted time and money on these products that I can’t really get back.

Why is there no alphabetical index on the right edge in the new sonos app

How do I install a second user in the Sonos2-app? So we have our own playlists etc.

This is the third week of problems trying to connect my desktop(windows 11) with the Sonos system. I called support twice, the problem was fixed both times, After not using Sonos for a few days, I try to run it, but get the same message as before(after this was fixed twice), the app cannot find the Sonos system. I don’t know if this may be a problem with my settings(internet etc) it is running on the same network as in my settings

After the latest Sonos app update, Trueplay is not working properly for the ARC + Sub + Era300/100 combination. After the two step Trueplay process, the app indicates that the tuning is complete, but there is no on/off button to confirm activation. So I guess the Trueplay is not activated in the system.Has anyone found a solution to this problem, specifically for the ARC, Sub, and Era 300/100 setups? Any insights or fixes would be greatly appreciated. Using: Sonos App version: 80.01.11 & iPhone 14 Pro

I can't connect my Play 3 speakers ( or boost) to new app. Done multiple factory resets. Anyone know if this is another bug? Can't get hold of support unless prepared to wait 70 minutes plus on phone.

On May 20, 2024, Maxime Bouvat-merlin, the Chief Product Officer of Sonos Inc (NASDAQ:SONO), sold 40,222 shares of the company (for $665,272).  The transaction was reported in a recent SEC Filing on insider trading.  Over the past year, there have been no insider buys and 17 insider sells at Sonos Inc, indicating a trend where insiders are choosing to sell shares rather than purchase them.He’s not silly.  This new App is a Titanic disaster and who wants to keep their hard earned money on a sinking ship……?I find this all very sad. I have been a devotee of Sonos and a loyal customer from around 2002.  I think probably from when the company first started. This new server based App is going to kill any ongoing sales relationship for me, with Sonos.  Yes,  I know they are working hard with updates to the new flaky App,  but for me where I don’t have super fast Internet connection the laggy response of the new App means for me that the system is unworkable and can;t see it ever will be.   I

Please tell me I’m wrong Sonos… did the new app just brick all of my Sonos gear?  I don’t use any darn music subscription services… I exclusively play music from “Music Library” off my Synology NAS.   You force fed me the new Android app, and now there is no Music Library feature… WTF? Where is My Library?  When will it be back in the app?  Or are you trying force everyone into some over-priced, brain-washing horsesh! subscription service??   This is why I dropped Apple iPhones and iTunes - tyrannical behavior by an anti-human company.I’m ready to toss all my Sonos hardware.  Where’s the press release telling us this was going to happen? 

How does one “add to cue” in the new app?

I had issues with the old version of the app as it was so slow. This day and age, with a company with all the tech that sonos have why and we having to put up with such ​​BAD (being polite) app. Is anyone looking to rectify the issues everyone is reporting. Looks like take your money and run. Everything is so slow and takes 2-3 minutes before anything plays on a speaker. The design of the new app is a mess and unclear. Because of the lag you press buttons which don't do anything. I purchased the move 2 to add to my system and unless I use alexa to play music I may as well not bother.

Hello. I am having HUGE issues with the new app. Most times, the app isn't recognizing my system from my phone. It's sooooooooo frustrating. My wife and stepson are NOT having the same issues I am having. We all have Samsung Androids. 

A numerical number representing the volume % is one of my most used and basic of features that is completely missing in this new Sonos App  update.  How could this happen?

Can anyone tell me how to switch sound back to tv after listening to music on the Beam. The new app is absolutely useless.

I updated the Sonos controller two days ago (24th May 2024). Since then my TV Playbase no longer plays TV audio despite being hardwired to it, and I cannot add my music folder as a Music Library. I have the Sonos controller on my iMac and iPhone. Any suggestions / solutions will be most welcome. BTW, I have tried turning off the iMac firewall but that makes no difference. 

Regarding the issue of the Playbar not updating and connecting to the newly releases sonos app.  I opened a ticket with Sonos.  Obviously its the new app problems.  But started a promising route and had to stop to make dinner last night.  FACTORY RESET YOUR PLAYBAR.  (which I’m sure you’ve done a lot) AFTER IT RESETS UNPLUG YOUR PLAYBAR DOWNLOAD THE OLD SONOS APP S1 CLOSE ALL APPS PLUG IN YOUR PLAYBAR BOOT UP THE S1 APP ADD THE PLAYBAR TO THE S1 APP BY MAKING A NEW SYSTEM IT WILL PROPERLY UPDATE THE PLAYBAR ---THIS IS WHERE I HAD TO MAKE DINNER--- BUT AT THIS POINT YOU COULD USE THE PLAYBAR TO WATCH MOVIES ETC., NEXT STEP IS TO UPGRADE FROM THE S1 APP TO THE NEW APP AND WHEN YOU DO THE UPGRADE FOR THE PLAYBAR IT SHOULD UPDATE THE SPEAKER. The reason it is not updating from the new app is that the factory reset takes the playbar back to the firmware from 2013.  That was 11 years ago.  It is too old and cannot update on the new sonos app so you have to first update it on the S1 app then

I’m trying to connect to my Sonos 3 with my iPhone. Since i did a wifi change, I had to reset the speaker. I’ve tried with ethernet cable and a full reset (pull power cord, hold button and re-plug the power cord). It takes ages but eventually thw speaker flashes green. Trying to connect the speaker in the app and it randomly shows up. When it shows up, I can connect and the speaker makes some sounds and recognizes the phone. But then trying to pair add the speaker to the app and fails with some odd error messages ”could not complete pairing” or something with a ”try again” messages. After three retries it sais something about confirming and it will be added later. It never does. Every time i open the app, it says ”no products found is connected”, go to system setting, setup a new system. The speaker flashes white. No hard reset makes any difference.It’s all a loopI’m giving up!.   

Three weeks after the new app was released, and the Sonos Community has become one huge echo chamber.  1000s of individual posts all saying basically the same things - nobody appears to read what's gone before. There's little constructive discussion of solutions, workarounds, or coherent error reports. Everything has become buried in a morass of angry, shouting, threatening financial penalties and overflowing landfills.Not a pretty sight or example for prospective users and customers. 

Since updating app a week ago (Hate it!!!), i can’t add music to my existing playlists. How do i do this now?

Given the loss of a major function of the application (loss of access to the local network for the playback of personal music), I would like Sonos to offer compensation. Without this function (NAS network) the sonos speakers are not suitable for me. Could you help me in order to get un financial payback because of this problem. (the sonos price need another quality for their consumers)
